Great Cruise; some caveats though.

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Carnival Venezia

Wanted to do a solo cruise and I treated myself to a Canadian cruise. The last time I was in the Maritime Provinces was 2001 on the CARNIVAL VICTORY (now RADIANCE) and wanted to see it again. My second Carnival cruise was on the CARNIVAL MAGIC in 2019. The layout of the MAGIC is similar to that of the VENEZIA. I bite the bullet with the single supplement always; I don't like sharing my cabins with ...

I booked this cruise with two other couples I met on a previous cruise, and we wanted to get together again and decided on this one. Embarkation was very speedy being in the green lane. There was a long line for the blue lane. The food service was good onboard regarding lido deck dining such as Salty Dog or Slices. Dining room was always lengthy. The three times I went to the dining room, it was ...

Nice Ship - But Annoying Problems

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Caribbean Princess

This cruise was VERY hard to rate. The layout of the ship, the food, the service and the comedy and magic entertainment were all very good. The itinerary was good in Newport, Boston, St. John and Quebec -- otherwise there wasn't a lot more to see. Unfortunately there were numerous sour notes. The ship was old but mostly well maintained. In our cabin, however, the mattress was nearly worn ...

Enjoyed the ship and the Ports

I will start out with we are not hard to please. Fifteen cruises in, all different lines and our age probably has something to do with that. Our cabin on Caribe deck and balcony were fine. Once the toilet didn't work and someone was there immediately to fix it. Our cabin stew and all the crew were so very pleasant and helpful and they were all so very personable. Our ports and time in ...

Ship is beautiful! Food not so good.

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Oceania Vista

Fifth cruise with Oceania. The ship is beautiful. The food was way below average. Most of the Pastries were stale.I ordered Lamb medium and got it close to raw, and tough. Osso Buco Alla Milanese worst I have ever had and was so looking forward to having it. The taramasu and Cream Brulae was awful!, no flavor and under cooked, both runny. I meet several people on the Vista and they all made ...

Great ship disappointing excursions and poor response to dietary allergies

Chosen for its itinerary but the regent excursions were disappointing. Most were your buses with local people. Some really boring stuff and very touristy spots. Given this is east coast of canada I was astonished that there was nothing that showcased the stunning beauty of this coastline. No opportunity to see wildlife or see seabirds or whales. We organised two private tours. Regent found ...

It’s been a while since I’ve traveled on NCL and it’s not the same. Took the NCL Escape for a “7” night cruise to New England and Canada. 1st stop Newport dreary and raining, Didn’t really get to see much as the weather didn’t corporate. 2nd stop Portland, with No excursion planed visited the surrounding area by the port. Little of any major sites nearby. 3rd stop Bar Harbor, took the ...

If you want good food select the premium meal plan. The standard fair is just fair. If you want great entrainment go to Disney. Other than choir of Man, singers were pitchy and mumbled. Mentalist show was good but short and slow. Rooms and staff were great. Jeff cruise director was a little annoying. They also spend a lot of time introducing staff. This seemed like a waste of ...

A Canadian cruise from New York will be a totally different experience on the Venezia

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Carnival Venezia

I'm not a Carnival cheerleader, but I do think Carnival can offer a decent value at times. That being said, this is my personal review for the Carnival Venezia sailing to Canada this September. Embarkation - super simple. The hardest part about embarkation was trying to help our Lyft driver figure out where to drop us off at the terminal. Once we were dropped off, we were within our time ...

I had booked to sail on the Carnival Venezia while the conversion was being completed from a Costa ship. I liked that I could drive to the port in lieu of flying. While I saw some negative reviews during the 1st couple of sailing, I wasn't discouraged, as I've always enjoyed sailing on Carnival and was looking forward to sailing on the Venezia with the "Fun Italian Style" concept. While the night ...
