A Happy Ship

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Picked Cruise because port was nearest in mid-winter, 10 days and went where we wanted to go. Left from New York Manhattan and was full with New Yorkers, Brits and French. Boarding for wheelchair was slow (1 hour+ wait). Food was tops, service especially cheerful. Specialty restaurants were outstanding! Variety and quality of food at buffets was very good! Good hygiene. Cabin service was ...

Great First Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Gem

11 nights sailing the Eastern Caribbean on the Norwegian Gem was my very first cruise experience. I kept my expectations low, but I was pleasantly surprised. Obviously, I have some pros and cons as a first-time cruiser so let's start with the embarkation experience from the NYC port. Embarkation: NCL should list the pier number for NYC embarking cruise ships in advance. When I called ...

We have been cruising for 20 years and thought we would give this ship a try Yet again Grand Turk was cancelled about 3 months before sailing and Bermuda was replaced We had been to most of the places on our itinerary but thought oh well let’s go !! The ship is nice even though there are a few thousand people on there quite a few places to hide and keep yourselves to yourself The ...

Winter Break on the Getaway

My two grandkids had winter break ( New York Metro area) and we all needed a break. We love sailing from New York ( Westside pier) as it is a half hour from our house. We picked the kids and my daughter up at nine and were in the Haven waiting area by 9:45. This itinerary had undergone multiple changes. They eliminated Norfolk ( we lost our day in Colonial Williamsburg) added and subtracted ...

No surprises

Chose this cruise at last minute because it departed and returned from New York City, no fly for us. Needed a respite from winter. And price was right. This was our first NCL cruise since an ill fated cruise on the NCL Star which blew an engine, modified our itinerary and we received no consideration for ruining our once in a lifetime Southeast Asia cruise. Boarding was easy, no wait. ...

The Good This was my first solo cruise as a fairly recent widow. The cruise met almost all my expectations with amazing New Year’s Eve revelry, thermal spa experience, and most importantly the Solo Cruise Coordinator, Lucas. It was wonderful to meet daily with other solo’s to plan activities and meals. Lucas did a marvelous job making our dinner and show reservations, providing fun daily ...

Wanted to go on a family cruise and heard good things about the Joy. The food was better than expected! We didn't make any of the shows because we were enjoying the entertainment pool side (especially the DJ's) and band's throughout the ship! But we we're looking forward to our cabin 10700 which definitely didn't disappoint. Cabin is very spacious with lot's of Closets and plenty of drawers for a ...

Bermuda Triangle!

This cruise was a mixed bag with some weird things mixed in. NYC to Norfolk VA to Bermuda. Weird thing #1. Stop in VA canceled because of some sort of whale thing in VA. I guess it's whale season, and they don't want cruise ships going thru...maybe.... We never got any explanation. Weird thing #2. One of the performers for the main show must have had some sort of accident, because ...

Overall we had a great time! The service was exceptional, the food was the best we have had on cruise in a long time, and the bartenders were awesome. Elements is a must-see show. It was amazing and very engaging. Due to rough seas, they were not able to perform Footloose, which was a disappointment, but totally out of NCL's control. The comedy shows were entertaining and the Beatles ...
