Disappointed and less than impressed

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Joy

This is my second NCL cruise but ninth cruise overall. My first NCL cruise was in 2012, and during the past ten years I have sailed on Carnival, Royal and Princess six times total. I decided to sail the Joy to Bermuda because the ships looks nice on paper, and sailing from NY is convenient from my home base in Philadelphia. Judging by the first three days of this cruise, I should have stayed ...

Beautiful ship that lacks personality

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Prima

I've sailed the Breakaway, Encore and the Escape in the past. This is hands down the worst one of the 4. With being a bigger ship with more rooms and more people, they have reduced the size of all the complimentary services. The buffet is maybe 1/3 the size of the garden cafe buffet on the other 3 ships and 1 less sit down dining area. They have more speciality dining rooms, so it feels like ...

Beautiful ship, Horrible entertainment, reservations

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Prima

I love Norwegian and have been sailing for years. This new ship however was horrible when it came to dinning or trying to get to any of the shows, games or anything else that was planned for the day. They made the deck around the outside fantastic! But by doing so this made the restaurants smaller leading to IMPOSSIBLE to get a reservation. I had 3 specialty dining credits for the ship, But ...

Not ready for prime time

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Prima

I booked this cruise as a recon for a March 2023 booking, and happy that I did because I am canceling that cruise. I have been waiting for the Prima since it was announced that the project Leonardo was coming, and find myself highly disappointed. For background I am sapphire latitudes, 20 NCL cruises on 8 different ships and a NCL supporter. The Good: the ships decor is beautiful, but all ...

Prima worst ship in NCL

Norwegian Prima was a disappointment. The buffet (single sided) was crowded and small. The menu in the buffet and main dining room did not change.. Talking about the "Hudson" main dinning room , their menu stand looks like a toilet bowl hanging on every column. The other dining room was used for selling art auction every day. Everyday daily activities were crammed into only 2 small ...

Never so Relieved to exit from a cruise

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Insignia

We didn't choose this cruise so much as we were forced into it. Back Story: In 2020, we booked Oceania's Scandinavian Baltic cruise. And then COVID-19. We were "assured" that if cruise would be canceled again, we would receive a a refund. Lie Number 1. As COVID-19 began to ease, we sailed on both Celebrity and Viking waiting for Oceania to re-open. Final Straw, we were booked on the August ...

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Carnival Magic

It has been a long time since we've cruised with Carnival as we are Platinum members, and we wanted to go back to Bermuda for a 5 day trip. We chose the Magic because this was the only ship available for this time period. The check-in process was smooth and we were the 1st group to be boarded on. Disembarkation, however was horrific as everyone just got in line and waited for long periods of ...

Not the Old Oceania Ships of yesterday

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Insignia

We chose to go on the Insignia because it was our 4th cruise with Oceania which we enjoyed. Location, we live 10 minutes by car from the dock. The cruise line is not what it once was. The crew as usual was very accommodating, but it was obvious that they are very short staffed. One evening in the dining room we were seated and 10 minutes after us 3 tables were seated and ordered there ...

First and Last Cruise on Oceania Insignia

My wife and I chose Oceania Insignia since it was the only ship small enough to dock right in Hamilton and in St George instead of the traditional large ship port of the Royal Naval Dockyard. We also chose Oceania because of the cruise line's reputation as a first-class upscale boutique type of cruise line since we are big fans and repeat cruisers with Celebrity. We were very disappointed from ...

What they don't tell you that you should know !!

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Joy

User Avatar

10+ Cruises • Age 60s

The reason for my low rating is because : 1. On the day we decided to go to Horseshoe bay they didn't think it necessary to tell us that the beach was CLOSED, due to the Tide and the Portuguese man of War in the water. They cancelled the excursion but didn't think it necessary to let the rest of the passengers know so I wasted $100 in cab fare going back and forth. In addition even if I wanted ...
