Long lines and lots of noise!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Escape

We chose this cruise because of the ports, and it was a very reasonable price. The old adage "You get what you pay for" was, in this case, very true. We got an e-mail from Norwegian to please arrive to board between 12:30 and 1:00 PM. We got to the pier at 12:25 and had to line up outside the terminal for 45 minutes just to check our luggage. We then had a one hour line inside the terminal ...

Sick with URI for us after germ filled cruise

Our cruise left a lot to be desired. We are Platinum members of NCL and this cruise was not great. Our stop to Stirrup Cay was cancelled due to winds. We have heard that it is most often cancelled for this reason. Feeling it was a bogus excuse and nothing offered to appease the guests. Bait and switch??? We were not told about the sicknesses on the ship until we were asking why there were no ...

Sailing with the Norovirus

This is a different type of review for me. I will try to let people know what to expect if your cruise has the Norovirus. Our second port was canceled. We were told it was too rough to tender. The seas were very calm with no winds. Day five the salt and pepper shakers disappeared (first sign of Norovirus). At the first signs of the virus, they remove all ketchup, mustard, and shakers from ...

This was a 9 day cruise, there was no good entertainment, which made the trip extremely boring, the music on the pool wouldn't start till 11am and it was mostly instrumental no good music at all, the bartenders were very rude, there was 1 bartender name Edward he was the only friendly one in the entire ship, we had the beverage package but they had a restriction on many drinks, the restaurant ...

Review of NCL Haven

We had never tried a cruise before, and decided to try NCL Haven as an alternative to other luxury vacations; we have recently visited other five star resorts (most notably, a Four Seasons in Hawaii and a Constance resort at Maldives) and now we decided to give a chance for a cruise. We had a pretty good discount for NCL and ended up paying about half of what we have used to pay for vacations of ...

Smokey, Crowded Casino Booze Cruise - Norwegian Escape NYC to Bahamas

Let me start by saying I love to travel, especially to Caribbean islands. I particularly love vacations filled with nature, adventure and exploring new places. I've traveled quite a bit over the years, so I know that a big part of traveling is keeping things in stride and going with the flow. With this cruise vacation, however, my patience was tested even before getting on the ship. First the ...

Unlucky 13!!

This was our 13 cruise with NCL and maybe our last. Embarkation was handled poorly, treated like cattle and we're platinum members. We routinely pay extra for entry to the Vibe on other NCL ships. The Escape has the nerve to charge $180 when the identical layout is available for free on the other side. They also removed seating and replaced it with a fog machine (??). So you are basically ...

Last minute cruise

We chose this cruise at the last minute. We were given a guarantee room. I was nervous about this This ship was only 75% full CABIN We ended up in room 12647, an inside, mid ship room. When we first saw the room we were in shock. It was no bigger than a closet. The bathroom was fine. The cabin had little storage place. After the first shock, we got used to it. We are never in ...

Took my parents on this cruise for their 50th anniversary. There were 7 of us in total ranging in age from 21-78. THE GOOD: Food was very good, and we liked Taste/Savor. Avoid the Manhattan restaurant unless you like very loud live music throughout your entire dinner. My Mother had to leave because she couldn't take it (though she's 77, it bothered all of us too). The Choir of Man show was ...

Just Poor Experience

The ship is large but with 5200 passengers and 1700 crew it wasn't large enough. Nearly every area of the ship was crowded with the elevators being packed full a considerable amount of the time. Imagine trying to get from deck 6 to 16 as an example and having to wait for multiple elevators to go by before one had space, roughly three to four time a day. It got really old really quick. Service ...
