This ship does not have the accommodations for the amount of people allowed on board. They have enough cabins, but not enough help to clean them. We left our cabin at 9:40 a.m., returned at 2:05 p.m. the cabin was still not made up. We gave up on the manhattan dining room after the second day due to service. We ate at other restaurants but the service wasn't much better. The specialty restaurants ...

Disappointing NCL Breakaway Cruise

I have been cruising with NCL since 1995 ( 16 Cruises to date ). I really like the laid back atmosphere of the cruises. I like the ability to eat when you want and freedom to do whatever. The NY port is convenient for parking at the pier. So here is the breakdown of the cruise. We took the NCL Breakaway out of NYC Embarkation : Hectic as there were 2 NCL ships at the port. Took 2 ...

Disappointed

I've been on several cruises , 3 different cruise lines and this was not up to par. So I was disappointed. I thought the service was terrible. I felt Nickel and Dimed with everything I had to pay for extra.. And considering the ship is fairly new, I was surprised at how uncomfortable the theater seats were. We experience some rough waters and we all felt it. Other lines I've bee on , I didn't feel ...

I booked with NCL because I've never cruised with them, my previous experiences have been with Carnival and Royal Caribbean. This was my 6th cruise and the only time I've ever been sea sick (not sure if it was a smaller boat or if the stabilizers weren't used.) The only decent food was at the specialty dining restaurants which cost more. The restaurants included w/ the fare all have the same ...

Pros: . Newer ship with water slides, rock climbing and rope trekking on the deck (although leaving from New York making them not accessible for 4 days at least due to cold weather) . Mini Suite with balcony has big shower room with strong showerhead . Burn the Floor dancers are really good, especially enjoyed their performance at the Manhattan Room . Dan Dan, the cruise director’s ...

Way too busy

There were 4800+ passengers on the ship when we were on, including many families and drinking-age spring breakers which meant long lines and not much time for the crew to provide any individualized attention. At times, the crew seemed indifferent and the few officers I did see always seemed to be walking quickly somewhere. Senior staff e.g. dining hall (not sure I can call it a Garden Café) and ...

Spring Break College Passengers Ruined our Trip

We were on the ship for seven days. We never went in the pool or hot tubs because they were constantly occupied by the passengers of Spring Break. They were taking off their bathing suits and vomiting all over the ship. The bartenders should have stopped serving them but they didn't. They were rude and obnoxious. They also woke us up every night 3-4 times a night. When we disembarked to the ...

I came from England as part off a package spending 3 days at Niagra Falls train to NYC staying for 3 nights then joining the ship for the cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation took and hour each time. Once on board the computer system for booking meals shows and the tender was done and caused chaos with people queuing at the desks instead. This was not fixed until the next day.Never had to book ...

Substandard experience- lots of lines and LOTS of waiting

When I decided to go on the Norwegian Breakaway I figured it was a no brainer... It left from New York City, so I did not have to fly to get to the cruise. A major convenience, especially since what I really wanted was a "break". There were very few things that could make me unhappy. As someone that really enjoys going on cruises along with my wife Norwegian had very little to do to win over a ...

Me my family of 4 along with my brother chose this cruise for we had such a good time on a 10 day gem cruise last year. This time we were disappointed- first let me tell you cruise critics hit a bullseye with the complaints of smoke. On the gem we did not smell smoke anywhere except the casino. Because of its poor design on the breakaway you smell smoke on 15 / 16th decks going to and from buffet ...
