I am doing this trip report to pay back everyone for all of the trip reports I have read/researched, ect. I appreciated all of the input everyone had and found them extremely helpful in planning our trip. We are a married couple who are in our 50’s and empty nesters. We chose this cruise as a last minute anniversary get-away and we are within driving distance to the port and don’t have to ...

This was my 13th cruise with Norwegian and my 5th on the Breakaway. I chose this ship because it was a local trip for me to get to the ship, as I live in NJ. We were at the pier by 9:30am (because we had to depend on a ride into NY who had prior commitments later in the day). It took a total of 20 minutes to check our luggage at the curb, go thru security and then check in. I was on the ship by ...

NCL has been our favorite cruise line but not so much after this latest cruise. We'll be looking for other cruise lines if NCL only keeps building these bigger ships. We love to share tables for lunch and dinner and when the discussion got around to how many cruises everyone had been on and particularly with NCL, we found many others felt the same way. Long waits for elevators, crowded hallways in ...

I chose this cruise because I could drive to the port. Stayed overnight at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefield NJ.. They provide transportation to and back from the cruise terminal along with allowing you to park your car there for the cruise duration. They are the only hotel that I found that provide this type of service in the area. So for the price of $250-you get to park for a week get ...

So where do I begin? I'll start with a big Thank You! Thank you to my husband, daughter and mom. Thank you to the staff/crew of the NCL Breakaway. And thank you to all the wonderful people I met on the cruise. I am a caregiver to my mother. I take care of my daughter, who has high functioning autism, and I run the ship I call “Home”. My wonderful husband works and is on call 24/7 for the ...

I came from England as part off a package spending 3 days at Niagra Falls train to NYC staying for 3 nights then joining the ship for the cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation took and hour each time. Once on board the computer system for booking meals shows and the tender was done and caused chaos with people queuing at the desks instead. This was not fixed until the next day.Never had to book ...

My wife and I decided to take this cruise as a quick getaway out of NYC. I was a bit worried about sailing from NY in the winter, but we had no issues what so ever with the weather. The seas were not exactly calm, but even in the 10-15 foot swells the ship never really rocked much more than a baby's crib. We booked a Spa mini-suite with the advantage being access to the Thermal Spa on cold ...

We choose this cruise because we could drive to the port from our home. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little apprehensive, however, we got a $175 on board credit, free booze package, and 3 specialty dining options. The buffet food was good. The restaurant food was awesome. Recommend Ocean Blue, La Cucina and Cagneys. We ate at Taste, Savor and the Manhattan dining rooms. Good ...

We wanted to do a cruise out of NYC as it is not far from home. We stayed over night at the Hilton Garden in Ridgefield N.J. we got the room, breakfast and were able to park the car all week. It was a great hotel and good value. We were able to get an upgrade to a Haven suite forward pen house 10106. It was wonderful, it had so much storage we did not use it all. The bathroom was the best ...
