Fabulous mother/daughter cruise out of New Orleans

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Vision of the Seas

We chose this cruise for two reasons. We wanted to visit New Orleans and the price was phenomenal! Embarkation was fast and easy, being the only ship in town that day. I agree that the ship is a bit dated and has a few maintenance issues. This was obvious in a few areas such as the public restrooms where toilet paper holders were broken or sinks did not work. There were also a few areas where ...

We chose this cruise as our 'maiden' voyage. We had never cruised before but heard so many good things. All are true. Although Vision of the Seas is an older ship and a smaller ship, we had a lovely introduction to cruising. We took a Junior Suite with balcony - so spacious, so efficient with respect to storage! Impressed! We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment onboard: Special thanks ...

We are Platinum with Carnival but decided to join friends who were taking a trip on the Vision. We were a little skeptical about being newbies on Royal and selecting an older, smaller ship on top of that, but we were pleasantly surprised. Embarkation port was in New Orleans, very easy and quick process. We had no problems bringing a 12 pack of our favorite soda on board. Cabins were ...

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This 10-day getaway was the first cruise my husband & I have ever taken, & in anticipation of the crowds on a ship the size of the Breakaway we opted to splurge a bit & book in the Haven - best vacation decision EVER. As NCL pledged, being a guest of the Haven afforded us over the top perks during our entire cruise. From our initial embarkation in New Orleans to any chosen daily port embarkations ...

The Breakaway is a fantastic ship! Embarkation was a fairly easy process, although there were thousands of people getting on board at the same time. Disembarking was fairly easy as well, although I thought that having to stand in line outside for an hour wasn't great. I thought that the groups were called too close together and too many people were trying to be scanned off at the same time. I ...

A Fab Time! Solo Haven

My complaints are so minor they slip my memory. DO keep in mind I was a solo traveler (female mid-50s) and in arguably the best cabin onboard for me (16704). Embarkation was a complete cluster. Think NYC traffic, bozos everywhere and a completely disorganized plan. For those of us that paid the large premium for Haven it was a dismal start. There was no marked line. I had the choice of ...

We were nervous about cruising for such a long time but we discovered it was so great it wasn't long enough! Norwegian is excellent in all they do. The ship was in great shape, well maintained and clean. The service was personal and impeccable. The cabin was roomy with a nice closet with shelves. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious. Although if you were overweight you might not say that. ...

We were just on this ship doing the Baltics in July and changed from the Pearl out of Tampa over T-giving. The embarkation was less than could be desired. It took almost an hour to go from the hotel to the port because of construction about 2 miles away, and then it was like nobody was expecting us when we finally got inside to check in. Thank goodness for priority. In July we had an Oceanview ...

This is my third cruise with Norwegian and they get better and better. This ship is enormous And to be honest I was a bit concerned with reading that people had stated that it was crowded and you had to que for everything. The ship had about 4000 people on board, yet It never seemed crowded, I never had to wait for a table at dinner time, you could sit Comfortably in the bars and lounges, ...

We chose this cruise because the ship moved to where we could drive. Have sailed from New York and the one port is not enough for me. So it came to NOLA. Should come to Galveston and we would sail more often. Shows were great. Burn the Floor is the most interesting dance show I have seen on a cruise ship in 30 years. I was a dancer in my youth and the precision, lifts, ballroom dancing and ...
