Crystal has lost its brilliance, at least for the time being?
"My 2nd time on Crystal, and the first since the new owners Genting took control, I did not check reviews beforehand and am not looking at any now, I just feel compelled to share my thoughts on how things have..."Read More

We were the last cruise before the COVID started. This was my 6th cruise (2nd on Norwegian). First I must say the cruise line did an exceptional job of keeping the ship clear & cruisers safe. (All public restroom doors open, servers at the buffet, no salt/pepper, cream/sugar on tables, etc.) The reason for this review - The Norwegian Getaway is the most poorly designed ship I have ever been on. ...

Embarkation in NOLA was fast. I estimate that we were onboard within 15 minutes from the time we got in line. They said our room would be ready around 1:30 pm and it was. The Free Dining rooms food was not as good as it was 3 years ago on NCL Jewel or last year on the Dawn. Twice we looked at the MDR menu and decided to just eat at the buffet. Great shows in the Getaway Theater, especially ...

We didn't choose the cruise,it came as part of a visit to Tenessee. It was a very large ship and very busy as it was half term in some parts of America. There was only one small pool, far too small for the amount of passengers on board, also there's a children's play pool and water slides. This area of the ship was always packed with people, many of whom spent the day drinking alcohol. On ...

I chose this cruise due to NCL's private island and the stop at Costa Maya. Usually, we prefer Eastern or Southern Caribbean, but change it up sometimes. Our last NCL cruise was the same itinerary but on the Dawn, which was going INTO dry dock, and the Getaway was coming OUT of a recent dry dock, so we expected more. We were disappointed. First off, the balcony was the TINIEST I've ever ...

This was my first time to try NCL. Positive: The ship is beautiful and I felt very little movement. The drinks were strong and I thoroughly enjoyed trying different drinks. The entertainment was out of this world. Burn the Floor was entertaining and I really enjoyed Million Dollar Quartet. The Water Slides were so much fun. Make sure you try the drop slide. I really enjoyed the Waterfront. Get ...

Food not as good

Carnival crew members are always polite and almost always happy and friendly. That’s a big plus, of course. The food wasn’t as good on this cruise, IMO. My husband used to really enjoy the filet and lobster on the elegant nights, but they have moved those two entrees to separate nights now. We ate in the main dining room every night, but the only thing I had that was really good was the crab ...

We have cruises with Royal Caribbean, but it was 10+ years ago and more recently cruised with Princess. We wanted to try another company because the crowd on the Princess was quite a bit older and even in our mid 30’s felt very young. [Embarkation] We got an Uber and what was supposed to be a 7 min trip turned into an hour. It’s a really complicated port and doesn’t run very smooth or ...

We were excited to cruise out of NOLA again on RCL and the prices on this seven day cruise were great. We traveled with two other couples from our community. We are all seniors and we all drove from Texas to New Orleans. My husband and I are Crown and Anchor Diamond Plus level. A couple of unexpected things impacted our cruise. The cruise prior to ours was delayed arriving and disembarking ...

We chose this cruise because we like smaller ships. It was a great ship to get around .I liked seeing the same people around the ship... I didn't think it was in as bad shape as I had been reading. It wasn't new but I didn't see anything falling apart any where . The room was very small . We had a inside room.We did find that if you separate the beds you have a lot more space. Service was very ...

Just returning from 7 days on the majesty of the Sea out of New Orleans. Brought my sister in law with us who had never been on a cruise. It was not the best Impression for a newbie. Beyond RCC control the ship arrived at 3:30 due to experiencing bad weather coming in. Embarkation was a crazy madhouse. Very long lines since they had us all arriving to board at 3:00pm. Embarkation took about 90 ...
