We are just back from a very nice 5 day cruise.
The ship looks great, we were last on board 3 years ago for a Baltic cruise.
Check in at New Orleans port was fine; we started the cruise off well with a Mojito at the Sugarcane bar and then went to the open main dining room and had a very nice lunch to start off. Cabins were ready about 1:30.

Just spent a week on the Getaway, January 26 - February 2. I see others have reviewed this cruise and wonder...were we actually on the same cruise?? Chose this cruise for a couple of reasons. Wanted a nice little winter getaway, western Caribbean is always good for that. Had not sailed out of New Orleans yet and wanted to do this. Had not been on the Getaway or any ships of this size, in the past we have sailed the Jewel Class ships and really enjoy this size of ship.

This was a cruise offered to us after a convention in New Orleans. The ship is a great size, needs some TLC but nothing that will interfere with your fun times. We chose this cruise as it fit our time line, and it with NCL; a cruise line we sailed with some time ago (and a few others with other lines in between), and had an equally good time. We had a great time. I am always trying to maintain a healthy weight. The cruise ship had all the foods that I like eating. I certainly did not want to gain 10 pounds from all the delicious food that was served on the ship. The ship served delicious seafood and salads.
