The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is because we had an Amazon cabin steward, the bar tenders at the Red Frog on the Lido Deck were friendly, and the manat the Java station knew my husbands name. The food in the dining room was good, and so was guys burgers. The food on the buffet was horrible and it was yhe same every night. We booked this cruise for our anniversary 2 years prior & were SO excited. This is my 8th cruise and my husband’s 1st. It was underwhelming to say the least. The decor & design was tacky in the public rooms and the staterooms. The service was SO poor (besides in the atrium bar & dining room). The lido deck was superrrr tiny. This was my first, and possibly last, cruise.
The Good:
1) Excellent staff. Friendly, helpful and patient at all times. Even at 3am when I couldn't sleep that one night and wandering to the deck, I was greeted with a friendly smile and "Good Morning".
2) WAY comfortable beds. Except for one night, slept very well, even in 20-foot seas.

This was my third cruise and first on Norwegian. I will never book this ship again and will be hesitant to use Norwegian in the future.
The Good: Staff was friendly and attentive. The cabin was OK and we had no issues with an inside stateroom. Price was good and included unlimited booze (no top shelf), 150 minutes internet and one dining upgrade. Good bang for the buck. Decent Buffet. ...

We chose a January 2024 cruise to get back in the cruising groove after having 2 cruises cancelled during Covid in 2020/2021.

I can barely think of positive things to say about this boat and staff. We were at 105% capacity. They could not handle the people THEY overbooked. The food was sub par, they would close hot tubs and pools randomly, for seemingly no reason. Our personal experience, on board, was bad. First, the ship is definitely showing its age. We witnessed a few floods in the cabins, but the lido deck has a lot of soft spots.
The next issue was with the illnesses all over the boat. Even on day 2, members we already getting sick. By day 4, the captain started marking operational changes but more people continued to get sick.

Carnival Valor was a little disappointing. I had a better time on the Elation and that ship is tiny compared to the Valor. Food in the buffet and dining room was horrible.
