We chose this cruise because we have taken several cruises (everyone with Carnival but one) and this was a different itinerary than we had ever taken.

As a group celebrating friends birthdays we booked Norwegian Breakaway December 30- January 6. The ship was okay, however the customer service from the initial booking - the representative we had was horrible to work with - he told me "I'm just a man, I can't multi-task"!

We chose our cruise based on the dates that both sons were going to be home for Christmas. Thought Norwegian would be good, WRONG ! It started bad in the port, rude folks, made TSA look lovable ! Luggage dropped at 1030 a.m. I got cussed looking in at crew vestibule for my suit case at 630 p.m. My bag never delivered ! My son found my bag some 50 staterooms away at 8 pm. We liked the idea of sailing out of New Orleans with all 36 family members.
Our Haven Cabin was well designed and the dining across the hall worked well.
Ship's information was confusing. Rules about hats in the Haven dining room were enforced arbitrarily. For example, I was asked to remove my cap while three other men and one lady kept theirs on.

Hmmm where should I begin? Don’t go on Norwegian breakaway. While it was my first cruise, it was my husbands 8th cruise- both of us decided we would never sail Norwegian again. The only time I really saw any member of the ship that worked there smile we when we were getting off the ship to go back through customs at the end of the trip. I have been on many cruise lines and enjoyed them all. This was the worst experience I have ever had. They charge $7.95 for every room service order! They charge $.99 a minute to get on the internet unless you pay a $100+ fee, and that still limits your time. Our shower was consistently lukewarm or cold.
