Glory Disappointment

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Glory

I cruise about once per year (Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean), and the Glory was my least favorite cruise. We sail with children, therefore always sail during "busy" times when school is out. The good parts were: * The staff were very friendly, although seemed overwhelmed at times. * Carnival has the best comedy clubs of any line. Other lines may have a comedy club once or twice ...

So you think a cruise sounds great. So did I. Well, here is assessment for you to make an informed decision. First, the staff is amazingly friendly. Truly nice people looking to make your trip as good as pleasant as possible. We had 5-8 ft seas and high winds most of the way to Yucatán. It really wasn’t a bad ride at all. Don’t worry about the waves unless 10ft plus. Here’s where the ...

Not great

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Service was horrible which in turn made our review bad! I was told on numerous occasion it was due to not having enough staff to serve all the passengers or to open all the attractions such as slides, rock wall etc... My son was only able to go on rock wall once due to it never being open and when it was there was only two staff rather than 4, line was always over an hour. Slides were shut ...

Disappointing

We chose this cruise because of the dates, itinerary and value. We received free airfare, internet, dining and beverage packages as well as a casino credit and photography package. Our room was dirty with peeling paint and grime in areas, and stains on the carpet, furniture and towels. The room key card took several attempts to operate every time and the toilet was equally difficult to flush. The ...

$8000 vacation worth $800

Cruised with a large group (over 70 people and families) and planned trip for over a year. Between the stateroom, flights, extras and on board upgrades we spent 8,000 on this vacation and felt like we were cattle the entire week. Getting on the boat: was raining in Nola and process was ok. Many people pointing you in what direction to go but otherwise went smoothly. Once on the boat you ...

Too Many People, Poor Service.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

The trip overall was enjoyable because of the fun group we traveled with, but the Norwegian Breakaway ship had WAY too few crew members to support the number of guests on board. Significant wait times for everything. Primary point of issue was the severely understaffed bar/drink areas. Doesn't matter if you would like a soft drink, beer or mixed drink, you should plan to wait 5-15 minutes in ...

7 Day Cruise

The ship was in great shape, everything was clean, and all staff was super friendly as expected. The issue we had was the continuous confusion with nearly everything on board. I assume they had mostly new staff because we would ask multiple people questions and either nobody knew or we would get multiple answers. At every meal, the menu was a mix of lunch, dinner, or different days. We would ...

We took a cruise on the NCL Breakaway with 4 of our friends, so a party of 6 total in 3 different rooms. All 3 parties in one way or another booked the all-inclusive internet/dining/drink packages and several excursions with a small exception here and there. Overall our group experience was unpleasant. In total this group has been on more than 20 cruises on multiple cruise lines including ...

Worst experience

We booked this trip as a weekend getaway for a bachelorette trip. It started off terribly. Trying to park at the New Orleans port was a complete disaster. We arrived before we were supposed to board but spent almost an hour and a half in standstill traffic.. then to be told we had to turn around and go to overflow parking and take a shuttle. We were treated unkindly and yelled at- all while just ...

Beautiful ship but price gouging everywhere

My wife and I love cruising and we cruise a lot. We like the princess line but they don't leave from New Orleans, so we had to settle on NCL. The good news is, the ship is beautiful, there are things to do everywhere and the food is great, but everything goes down from there. We got an extra-cost balcony mini-suite. It had a nice size bathroom but the rest of the room was so tiny we had to turn ...
