Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Glory

We chose this cruise because Port of NO is a great very fast port to use. It was worth the 8 hour drive to NO instead of fighting all the traffic that would’ve been in FL. Getting on and off were as easy as walking out to my mailbox. We were the only cruise at the port which is probably why. $22 a day to park was really freaking pushing it but again my car from the boat was like walking to my ...

This was our 7th Carnival Cruise and our 30th cruise. We chose this cruise for a relaxing time after a week of touring in New Orleans. Also, we had one of our daughters and her family. The kiddos had a blast going up and down the waterslide, over and over and over. There was something sharp at the bottom and both kids scraped their feet and came out bleeding at one point. There was nowhere to sit ...

Too seasick to get off the ship at Progreso

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Valor

I can't blame the cruise line for the weather conditions but the water was so rough and the ship rocked so much that when we arrived at Progreso, three of the four of us were so seasick that we spent the day in our cabin. Lost the money spent on our excursion. Overheard another passenger say that a staff member had told him that it was always rough sailing around Progreso. On a side note: don't ...

So I have been on several Carnival cruises and I have to say this was my least favorite. I chose this cruise mainly for my mom since it was her first time cruising I thought this ship was large enough to not feel the waves so much and the distance to the port was close enough I didn’t have to take an extra day off work to drive there. We did purchase faster to the fun which was a complete waste of ...

We have sailed on this ship in the past out of Miami. We were looking for a 4 night cruise out of New Orleans or Mobile so chose this ship. Embarkation was easy other than navigating the New Orleans traffic. It took us more than 1 hour to get from the entrance to the port to inside the parking garage. Our check in time was 12-12:30 and we planned to arrive at the port about 11:45. That wasn't ...

An overall OK cruise

This was our second cruise, the first being with Princess last year. This time we took our kids, ages 9 and 13. Because of adding them, cost wise we opted to go with Carnival. I knew going in that the experience wouldn’t be the same as with Princess, especially in regards to food, but I did think that because Carnival owns Princess, the overall service experience would be similar. Also, we have ...

this Was the fourth cruise with Carnival. All the others had been outstandingly enjoyable so was really looking forward to this one. Another couple that has traveled with us in the past was also with us on this one. They had never been to Nassau and none of us had spent enough time in Key West. The ship, although rather aged in cruise vessels, was very well maintained. Not much rust was apparent ...

The ship was overcrowded wasn't enough places to sit by the pool area and staff would constantly make people get up off their lounge chairs on lido deck so they could do some kind of activity. State room was hot and stuffy, water in state room showers could not be regulated it was degrees of hot to really really hot! Food in dining room was average at best . Planned activities were overlapping ...

The ship was nice however being a smoker I found it to not be very smoker friendly (I know there are people who don't like smoking but, why should they have it better than us smokers? We all pay to cruise) there seemed to be more smokers on board than there was room for us all to smoke and be able to sit down and relax with a smoke and drink. The cabin was nice and dinning (food) was okay (our ...
