Horrible service, food, and overall experience.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Some friends of ours planned to go on this cruise so we decided to try out Norwegian for the first time. We normally do Royal. Wow I had no idea what a huge step or leap down it would be. I got food poisoning on the 4th day. They didn’t go to one of the stops because it was too dangerous. Even though two other ships were parked there. The lines were insane. What I had to go through to get my son ...

Very Good Cruise

Overall, I found the NCL Breakaway out of New Orleans to be a very good cruise. When you factor in all that came with the Haven I would easily put this cruise above any others we have taken before. Know that all the food we had on the ship was great and probably the best we have had on any cruise we have ever taken. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and do what they can to help ...

Overall had a nice cruise for a spring break week with lots of kids and large groups. Fam of 4. on 2nd NCL (Bliss previously) and 9th cruise overall. Spent night before at Marriott across from port and just walked over. Relaxed in Mall Food Court until check-in time and than took elevator down to street level to drop bags. Through security and in waiting room in about 15 min. Waited about another ...

We went on the Breakaway the end of March 23 for our 20th Anniversary, with 2 other couples. We drove into town and stayed in Slidell LA (a small town 15 mins outside of New Orleans ) a day in advance. We stayed outside of town because New Orleans is VERY expensive and you can save a few hundred bucks a night if your driving in by staying out of the city. We got up the next morning and took our ...

Friends of ours were already going on this one so we booked it as well. We had great service, no complaints. Walked the stairs a lot because of all the food we ate. There was some issues of the plumbing on some floors but our room was fine. Except one day for an hour there was a really bad sewer smell in the hallway. Also it was Spring Break time so of course more kids were on the cruise but ...

Overall, our cruise was great. The food was excellent, shows were great, specialty and complimentary restaurants good, and the crew/staff awesome. There were a few hiccups: Toilet in our balcony spa cabin 14***, initially was not working properly, causing some concern but corrected by the third day. Asst. Genl. Mgr. Sayeed helped to make us comfortable and so did the Bloody Mary's from Asep at ...

Weirdest boat layout I’ve ever experienced

The breakaway has such a poorly designed floor plan that I still can’t wrap my head around it. NCL put two of the smallest pools for 4,500+ people. People would be out hogging lounge chairs extremely early and they were all taken by 7 am. They wasted so much space on specialty dining that I never saw anyone in. The biggest waste of space: American Diner. I saw 8 tables being used the entire time I ...

I had 3 cruises for my son to pick from and he picked this cruise for the ship's sports deck. We do not favor NCL new style of ships with the race track and laser tag instead of a sports deck. Also a first time for Harvest Caye . The food quality has really gone down hill. Each dinner took us 2 hours and that is just too long. Costa Maya is terrible with 3 ships in port. My family decided ...

Firstly on arrival, the queue to get on was very long. It was so hot, no drinks available to the waiting guests. The security shouted out anyone with bottles or any drinks must put them in the bins provided as no drinks allowed on board. This rang alarm bells straight away. when we got our cabin passes we were asked would we like to register a credit card or are we paying cash, since we had the ...

DO NOT believe the negative people here, unless you're one of 'em

I am only writing this review to counter some of the "everything was terrible" people here. I sadly read a LOT of those reviews on everything from restaurants to movies to everything in between, and I honestly believe people enjoy complaining more than just relaxing and enjoying whatever activity they are involved in. Sad, but I guess that's the new world we live in. As for the cruise, we ...
