This is the third cruise for my wife and I (one Carnival, and one Disney). Overall we like the NCL experience and would consider sailing with them again. We are in our late thirties and went alone. We drink on occasion, and do not smoke or gamble. The overall appearance of the ship was clean. The dishes were kept up off the hallway floors and in common areas. The ship designers could have made ...

First cruise since my wife and I sailed the QEII for our honeymoon 25 years ago. This was celebrating the return of our son from Iraq and his graduation from college. So it was a reunion cruise. I should first point out that this review will NOT help "Party Animals" or for that matter the 'Drinking' or 'Food' Animals - so if you are in that category, you can move on...! It is a real tribute to ...

This was a great cruise. There were four of us cruising (myself, my husband, and my parents). We have all cruised before. This was my 9th cruise and my husband's 3rd cruise. It was our first on Norwegian. Embarkation: We drove to New Orleans and parked in the parking garage. The port facilities were significantly improved from the last time we were in New Orleans. The parking garage was great. ...

First off, I just want to say that I had read soooo many bad reviews of this ship that I was getting more than a little nervous taking my whole family on-board for their first (my husband and I's second)cruising experience. Either my family is just very easy to please, or there are a few very hard to please people leaving bad tastes in others mouths. We all had a GREAT time. We all come from ...

First, a little back ground info: I booked my self, DH and 5 other friends on this trip. There was Josh and Nate (brothers) Derek, Ambre, Natasha (josh's fiance) DH Jake, and I. I've been on 6 cruises, 3 with ncl, and jakes been on 5, 3 with ncl also. No one else had been on a cruise before, so they were a little leery about it. We flew to New Orleans the day before and stayed in the Holiday Inn ...

12/10/06 The Sun Also Rises From my view looking from the Intercontinental Hotel at 4:00 AM this Sunday morning, I could see a light rain falling. Even through the rain I knew a Sun would rise on the horizon. This was the NCL Sun as it made its way up the Mississippi River, its lights glistening in the mist from the river. Our home for the next week looked beautiful and inviting as we saw it at ...

We sailed on the Sun out of New Orleans on Christmas Eve. Embarkation was a breeze. We drove to New Orleans the day before and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. The room was okay, inexpensive but they charged to park the car overnight. We got to the ship fairly early on Sunday, parked in the port garage. That was very easy, dropped of the lugged on the way up to the parking and then took the ...

My husband and I are in our 40's. This was our 3rd cruise, 1st was on Celebrity, 2nd on Princess. We traveled with our parents who are in their early 60's. That made the cruise enjoyable, otherwise I would not have to many great things to say about the cruise. There were not enough activities onboard, the food was not the greatest and they did not have much of a variety of food. Celebrity of ...

Sailed the Norwegian Sun leaving New Orleans Dec 17, 2006 on a 7-day cruise that left out of New Orleans and ported at Costa Maya, San Tomas, Belize, and Cozumel. We are a married couple in the 30s who's sailed on 2 cruises in the past, Princess and Royal Caribbean, but never on Norwegian. Overall we had a great time but there were definitely some kinks along the way - wanted to share our ...

My girlfriend and I have taken 3 cruises together, the Norwegian Sun was our 4th. I've been on the Carnival Jubilee, Carnival Conquest, and Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Sea. We chose Norwegian because of the itinerary, price, and also a chance to see how New Orleans is doing. We reserved a room from Priceline.com at the Marriott Renaissance in the Convention Center area near the French ...
