Background - We were a group 3 families - 6 adults & 7 kids (17,17,16,15,14,14,8) vacationing on our 3rd cruise, but the first on NCL. So, this review will have a little more a family tilt. New Orleans -- We arrived in New Orleans by air on Saturday afternoon and took a taxi ($48) to the Embassy Suites Convention Center. I thought the hotel was clean, in a great location and would stay there ...

My partner and I are from Birmingham Alabama and this was our first experience sailing with Norwegian. Our cruise was April 8th through April 15th. We arrived in New Orleans on April 7th and stayed at the Sheraton on Canal, just blocks away from the cruise terminal. Service is always good at this property, plus it gave us excellent views of the ship the morning of embarkation. Embarkation: We ...

Went on this, our 6th cruise just to try out NCL and get away for a week. We travel a LOT and took a cruise just to keep from having to pack and unpack constantly. Here's our take on the Sun. Food: Reading prior reviews caused us a little concern about the food quality. HOWEVER, AND THIS IS A BIG HOWEVER, we were very pleasantly surprised. Being native New Orleanians, our taste buds are jaded ...

We left on our cruise out of New Orleans, which was a joy. We arrived early and were able to get on the ship by 11:30. All of the embarkation went smoothly and very quick. Once we got onto the ship, we met our Room Stewart, Mikle, who was always there when he was needed and seemed to always be working. He took excellent care of us and our accommodations. The balcony room was worth every penny we ...

Background Information—we are a young couple, 29-year-old wife and 33-year-old husband. We live in Arkansas and this is our second cruise, the first on another cruise line. Embarkation—went very smoothly. We got to the pier from the airport around 11, waited in the VIP lounge until 11:45 when the ship was cleared, and then we were the first ones on board! After some initial confusion (our room ...

What a big disappointment!!! I have sailed before but not with NCL. I must admit I will never sail NCL again. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a cruise line. The itinerary on this ship was wonderful. The ports of calls were spectacular!!! Costa Maya.... The port is good. You can do some shopping. Find a few good buys. The party at this port was loud, wild and crazy!!! But ...

Norwegian Sun Review Sail Date 03-04-2007 As a former travel agent, and avid cruiser, I realize how important it is to have ship reviews. As hard as it is sometimes to take the time to write the review after the excitement has worn off, and the bags are unpacked, I know how much I enjoy reading reviews, so this is my way of giving back the cruise community. Let me say that I am fairly ...

Embarkation was swift for us. We got there early and were on the ship in less than 20 minutes! If you want to avoid a long long line, get there early. Luggage got to the room very fast also! We had a window room with a huge porthole. I found this nice that we could look out the window and see where we were instead of being in a black hole and not knowing where the heck we were. The room was as ...

Overall, great vacation. My husband and I went alone. This was our third cruise. The first was Princess (honeymoon), the second Carnival (family event). We chose this cruise for the embarkation port and the itinerary. Incidentally, I think the absolute best feature was the itinerary. I loved each of the ports far better than any other ports I have visited on any other cruise. Embarkation day. We ...

My husband and I went on this cruise 3/11 - 3/18. This was our 4th cruise, 1st with NCL. We have previously been on Carnival Imagination in 2001, RCCL Grandeur in 2003 and Carnival Miracle in May, 2006. Overall, I would consider this cruise incredibly.... average. This was the first time we have been to the new NOLA terminal and things went very smoothly. We drove in from Alabama on Sunday ...
