The cruise was overall adequate. We booked the owners suite. It was large but mostly empty space and not so grand furnishings. For the price we paid, $16,000 for both, it could have been much nicer. The crew was very friendly and helpful and onboard entertainment was interesting. The tours were excellent. If one likes to drink there was alcohol flowing, all included, for most of the day. ...
My husband and I chose this cruise because we wanted to stay in the USA . We wanted to cruise the river on a small ship. The ships are constructed in the United States and owned by a US family
We traveled the night before and stayed with other passengers at a lovely hotel in New Orleans.
The next day was easy boarding on the small ship with friendly and considerate crew members. Our ...
Cruise was 7 days from New Orleans. Daily stops in river towns like Natchez and Vicksburg were filled with history and wonderful tours of civil war battle fields, Southern mansions, museums and walking tours of historic districts. The daily selection of excursions was varied to accommodate every type of activity and interest. On board lectures and watercolor painting classes were great. Food ...
For the first 4 days they were so short staffed that it was buffet only! So sick of eating lukewarm food and mass produced! Then they brought on enough workers to have service, at dinner only! Also all their other boats are fully staffed, heard that from a inside source.
One bartender per bar, when they were open, should have had at least two, long lines. Wine offered? Maybe 8 types, and I can ...

Hello Shortyman! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us feedback. We are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy many aspects of the cruise, such as the food, wine, and service. We...
We chose this cruise for a Mississippi River round trip cruise out of New Orleans so we could explore the river towns along the way. Unfortunately, the ship was so poorly maintained that a generator quit working and we could not travel at all for one full day while repairs were made. Therefore, the ship skipped the town of St. Francisville altogether and the excursions we had booked and paid for ...
My husband, myself, and my sister-in-law (all in our 50s) took this cruise by using a travel credit of my in-laws that was about to expire (and the cruise line made it very clear there were no extensions or any way to get thousands of dollars back). We made it into a good time, but if I were a true paying customer, I would really be scratching my head as to the cost and what you receive--neither a ...
We chose ACL's Lower Mississippi cruise from Memphis to New Orleans based upon a very good experience on an ACL Columbia and Snake Rivers cruise in 2019.
Due to a scheduling glitch, ACL rebooked our cabin and cruise without informing us. Our travel agent was livid, and got us a significant cabin upgrade on a rescheduled cruise on one of ACL's newest ships, the American Jazz. Though the ship is ...
We did the lower Mississippi cruise in 2019, and loved it. We departed St Paul MN, bound for St Louis. The scenery was beautiful. The river towns were lovely, and most shore excursions were good also. However, from day one, housekeeping was poor. Towels were not replaced, housekeeping never answered their phone, and we were unable to leave a message. The room was clean, and we had all the ...
This was a much anticipated get away since Covid had shut us down for previous travel. This cruise was VERY pricey, and unfortunately we didn’t receive anywhere near our value.
To start with there are NO amenities on the ship, no pool, no shops, no incidental shops, nothing. You can only have a cocktail from 5:30pm-7pm and only beer/wine/or a basic drink. No specialty drinks, no blender ...
I’ve been on over 50 cruises, some as long as 80 nights. I have been all over coastal USA, and ports in the Caribbean, Asia, Mediterranean, South America, Polynesian Islands, and Australia. With Covid closing down the cruise industry I switched to river cruises on American Cruise Lines.
I couldn’t be happier with the results. All cruisers have on their bucket lists ports and countries to ...
