Been cruising for over 30 years. This was the first time on NCL and we took this cruise because of the "ports of call".
First, two ports were cancelled and one was added before sailing. many things went wrong as soon as we got underway.
-Plumbing problems (2X) in the cabin, no cold water
-Small light fell out of the ceiling
-Pre-order of meals screwed up 3X. Request was for no ...
I have taken cruises before and I have cruised on several different cruise lines. This was my first repositioning cruise and I hope to answer some of the questions I had about this type of cruise. We chose this trip because of the departure port and the itinerary.
New Orleans Embarkation: We live a few hours from New Orleans and took the train down the day before. Our assigned check-in ...
We did this cruise because of the ports of call. Left from new orleans and went to seattle. The ship is very nice and clean, room also very good. The crew was always happy and friendly. Food was better than expected. We missed two ports of call and were not told was not told why, this is one reason we chose this trip was for the ports of call. Smoking was really bad on the ship as they have a ...
Choose this cruise for the Panama Canal itinerary. Had great weather which helps, but really an amazing cruise start to finish. Ship was in great shape, staff were fantastic and hard working. Met lots of great people. I was very impressed with this NCL cruise. Food was great and available all the time so were cold drinks. Buffet is laid out nicely so line ups are minimal. It was so popular ...
We chose this cruise because of the embarkation city, length of cruise, value of cruise and we wanted to go through the canal. The crew on the Pearl were excellent! They were very attentive to our needs and had very positive attitudes. We observed that as they interacted with each other, they were happy and had fun performing their jobs. We believe that these positive attitudes translated over to ...
After 7 cruises on NCL beginning with the Norway in 1999, no more NCL for us until some policies are reversed.
We felt more nickel and dimed than ever.
First you can no longer bring your own bottled water on board. I can't tolerate the tap water on the ship as it makes me feel ill and the cost of on board bottled water is ridiculous. This amounts to extortion.
Also once on board I was ...
Left port out of New Orleans. Parking was $90 up front before you park. This was organized and very quick from time you pull in the garage to the time you begin boarding. 5 to 10 mins max. Once your on the boat you are immediately in tje middle of the large entertainment area. Dont let that fool you. Its kinda down hill from there. Im not going to bore you with tiny details but there are deal ...
The room and service were the best. The staff does go above and beyond. The food for lunch is your typical hot dogs and hamburgers. The breakfast is probably the worst, the eggs are runny, omelettes are super oily. Fresh fruit is beat up pears and apples and canned peaches. The mongolian wok was good but close to an hour wait. There were long lines for the food every day I was there. The pizza was ...
Our cabin was on deck nine just under "The Gathering", (the place where you ate is you didn't want to dine in one of the fine restaurants) and the pool & the recreation area which was Deck 10 & 11. Anytime during the night, you could hear tables & chairs scooting around on the decks. We complained several times. they said they were unaware of any such problems. How could they have not known? ...
I had the best time on this cruise. I have been on many cruises with lots of companies but this cruise prompted me to join cruise critic and write this review. I have read other reviews and understand that the Dawn is old but she still is a beauty and the staff take care of her well. Apart from a bit of wear and tear she is in great condition which was surprising as I was expecting her to barely ...
