Great staff, mediocre everything else

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Vision of the Seas

This cruise was a severe disappointment. The ship itself is ill designed, with no place that is peaceful or quiet. The food in Aquarius ran from mediocre most of the time to a few nearly inedible desserts. Trying Izumi for a change just netted us mediocre sushi at top tier prices. The entertainment in the Masquerade theatre was clearly going through the motions for the paycheck. Further since ...

We chose this cruise for the port of departure, New Orleans, and ports of call. New Orleans is always a great city to enjoy and explore before or after a cruise. We had sailed on her four years before and were pleased. The embarkation/self assist disembarkation was smooth and organized. We did not view any live entertainment since theater shows are not our first choice. We were very ...

Like a Hampton Inn on the seas

We booked late, and this was what fit our budget. That should have been the first sign. The ship kept reminding me of "The Love Boat" then it occurred to me that it was almost that old of a ship. The styling, the dance floor, the carpet... It all just seems styled in the 90s. Even though I'm sure the vision has had a refit since. I'm not a huge participant in cruise activities, and I'm not ...

We wanted to cruise during Thanksgiving without flying, so we chose this one from NO since we could drive. We stayed at Hampton Inn-Metairie where we could leave our car for a week. Embarkation was a breeze at 11:30. Had lunch and drinks then on to room at 1 where we found our bags waiting for us. Debarkation was easy. We literally just walked off the ship at 8:15 and were back on the road ...

Lackluster service and gluten troubles

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We chose this 12 day cruise on the Dawn from NOLA to Boston because it was a great deal, fit perfectly into the itinerary that we had in mind, we had heard good things about Norweigan from others and the research we had done into it all seemed fine. We booked it for our Honeymoon and were very excited, my wife has a gluten allergy and on all the other cruises we had been on with Royal Caribbean ...

Let me start by saying that I have never complained about "any" cruise that I have been on in my life, they were all pretty great with some minor flaws and lots of positives... with that been said, I must let potential Norwegian Dawn cruisers get a peek into this ship and crew: A couple complaints and then I'll breakdown the issues by category. Trust me this is a ship you will not be ...

Worst Cruise Ever

I cruise every spring break. I chose this cruise because they dates were right, the price was good, and the debarkation port is awesome (New Orleans). The food in the Scarlet dining lounge was not good, the service was even worse, much worse. The shows in the Encore lounge were fantastic. But why the wait? Ship's crew left the doors closed (light and sound checks, presumably) until ...

Our first NCL experience. We have cruised on 4 other lines and wanted to try the "Free Style" cruise promised by NCL. We traveled as a retired married couple and had a balcony on the 10th deck. Our complaint is that there are no places on board that don't have deafening noise from music. When the live music stops it is replaced by recorded music. Conversation is impossible anywhere but your ...

This is my last cruise on Carnival. The entertainment was average. The bartenders were not friendly at all. Everywhere you went there were lines. I bought a drink card and even the cokes had to be opened at the bar before they would allow me to take it to my room. IF you buy the endless bubbles, everyone in your cabin over 21 has to also buy. Your limit is 15 drinks per 24 hour period. The ...

The Cruise from Hell

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

My first cruise and my early birthday present. I hear everyone talking about how nice some crusies are but this dream was like a nightmare. First of all, our rooms where not ready so we had to wait. Second of all the steward was lazy. He didn't change our linen and if he did he would put dirty linen on our bed and we had to call for him to do our beds over. The beds where uncomfortable because ...
