More bad than good. This was my 8 year old daughter and I's second cruise. Our first cruise was with Royal Caribbean and we LOVED every minute of our cruise with that cruise line! So I was super excited to go again this year, But I wanted to try Carnival Sunshine because it had been newly refurbished. We read a lot of bad reviews about the ship but silly me I didn't heed others warnings!
The ...
If you have never cruised, you will enjoy this ship. If you have cruised before, you will hate it! The Sunshine is a small cramped ship. The Cabins are nice and the ship is clean, but the venue areas and the public areas are just so small.
Embarking was easy, but the lady checking us in did not know what she was doing and kept asking us the same questions over and over. Once on the ship we ...
I chose this cruise because we wanted to do a multi centre taking in Memphis (by Amtrak) to New Orleans to pick cruise around the Western Caribbean. On seeing some of the reviews for Sunshine I was not sure what to expect, this is our 5th Cruise covering Cunard, Royal Caribbean, NCL and Princess X2.
And yes this is a budget priced cruise aimed at the younger market. Overall the cruise was good ...
We had a fabulous vacation on the Carnival Sunshine out of New Orleans. I had read many many reviews before we left, so I felt like I should write a review to help the next person. There are 6 of us, my husband and I, our 19 year old son and his girlfriend, 16 year old daughter and 12 year old son. We drove from Missouri on Saturday and stayed in Jackson, MS. We left Jackson on Sunday morning ...
My husband and I sailed on the Sunshine on 3/30/14. We had a scenic ocean view room right above the bridge. Our views were wonderful. We had FTTF so were taking pictures in our cabin before 11:30am and all unpacked long before muster. Our vacation felt like it officially started a few hours earlier than without it.
We're from Wisconsin and had a terribly cold and snowy winter so this cruise was ...
Let me start this review with there are several poor reviews of this ship on this site as well as Carnival’s site, not sure what ship these people were on, the Sunshine is fabulous!
Arrived to NOLA 1 day early and stayed at the Hilton Riverside which worked out well. Walking distance to Bourbon street and only 5 minute car ride to port parking. Embarkation went very smoothly, arrived at port ...
Just returned home last night from a 7-night cruise on the Sunshine to the western ports of Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. This was a family and friends cruise for us over spring break with 13 people in our group.
Overall it was a great cruise – primarily because of the people we were with. Many in our group had never cruised before, so it was great doing things with them and seeing ...
Although the changes have resulted in a beautiful ship, the Sunshine would not be considered one of my favorites. The Serenity deck is awesome and the new water park is fun, especially the slides. They are a lot faster than the others we have used. This was our 14th Carnival cruise and again was very enjoyable. The remake of the Lido Marketplace was nice. Didn't experience any long waits for ...
We went on the new CCL Sunshine in March of 2014 out of New Orleans. We were only like the 3rd cruise from NOLA on the "updated" and "new" Sunshine. Was our 2nd cruise with CCL and our kid's first cruise ever. The ship looked nice, and it looked freshened up with new paint and carpets.
Crew was wonderful, and the food was very good. The issues were the ship is poorly laid out, and there was a ...
What a fun week we had...
Embarkation: New Orleans port was very well organized - plenty of signs & people to help point the way. We had priority boarding & were quickly directed to the priority lounge - we got to the port at 11:00 & were onboard by 11:30.
Cabin: We had an Ocean Suite which was perfect…nice big balcony, tub, & plenty of space. Our room steward Suparta was superb, always greeted ...
