Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Sunshine

Hi, we have been on over 70+ cruises and are not fussy people. We have enjoyed Carnival in the past and since this was going to Aruba and Curaco we thought okay it has just been revamped. This is the worst designed ship I have ever been on - worse than the NCL Majesty after adding more cabins. They have added many cabins but have done things that even I can't understand. Jogging track goes over ...

This was our 19 cruise 5 of which were on Carnival. This is the first one on the Carnival Sunshine. I, like others thought the negative reviews were just from people who had it in for Carnival for one reason or another. Well, we should have taken the reviews to heart. The stateroom was an interior room and was actually larger than we thought it would be. We had several problems there... the ...

Nice ship, but not to my expectations

This was my 11th Carnival cruise. My last cruise on the Conquest in Oct of 2013 raised my expectations. I was excited to sail on the Sunshine and experience all of the Funship 2.0 enhancements, the Serenity area, and to experience the showroom lounge that transforms into the nightclub. This ship is visually pleasing, with nice bright spaces that are tastefully decorated. Overall I enjoyed the ...

Won't go on the Sunshine Again

This was our 6th Carnival cruise. All on different ships. The Sunshine was easily the worst ship we've ever been on. Comedy club holds only about 200 and the Liquid Lounge maybe 600. On a ship with over 3,000 folks. You have to wait in line (some folks waited 1.5 hours for a comedy show) and then get turned away because they're full. If you happen to make it into either venue you stand a good ...

Fabulous Cruise

The Carnival Sunshine was a most wonderful ship. The décor is amazing. The serenity deck is great but you do need to find a chair(s) early as they fill up fast and stay filled all day. Very relaxing. Guys Burger Joint - best burgers and fries. The entire ship is very nice, from décor to cruise staff. Grand Cayman what a beautiful place. We did the Coral Reef and Sandbar - well worth the money. ...

I read lots of reviews about the Carnival Sunshine before the cruise, and I was prepared to face many problems during the cruise. So I have to start and say that I honestly don't know where the bad reviews come from. There is not a single bad thing I have to say about the ship (well, I had an elephant towel animal one night with a short nose, but I don't think that's really a downside). I'll say, ...

This was my 4th cruise with Carnival and I have to say the other 3 were wonderful. However, this one was a nightmare from the minute we opened our door. We were welcomed my the aroma of what smelt like a litter box in our room 6105 , when we opened the bathroom door the smell ripened to a musty, stale, mold filled germ infested urine hole !! The room steward did a fantastic job preparing the room ...

No such thing as a bad cruise, but...

Did a solo cruise on the sunshine January 2014. I had a forward balcony on the 8th floor and it was perfect. Short walk upstairs to Lido, or short walk downstairs to the shops and casino and other activities. The only thing that felt far away was the dining room. Speaking of the dining room-it was too small to accommodate my request for early dining, which was disappointing but not the end of the ...

My wife and I, along with her parents, took our first large family vacation together. My wife and I are in our 20's and her parents are in their 50's so we had plenty of differing opinions regarding activities onboard. This was not a first time cruise for any of us but it was our first time on the Sunshine, or Destiny, as she was previously named. We read several reviews before leaving, where ...

This was my 5th time sailing and my 4th with carnival. I love being on the big fun ships but being on the newest one sparked my interest. I go with my mom, aunt, cousin, and grandmother. The ship itself is very organized. It has plenty of things to keep the new cruiser entertained. As for the returning cruiser, there are some elements to this ship that are just too recurring withy the other CCL ...
