This is our 5th cruise on Carnival. This is also our last cruise on Carnival. The ports were great. The people who hosted the excursions were great. The crew of the ship and the service, not so much. In fact, things started going wrong from Day 1 and there were so many incidents, we had to make a list! So here's what happened. We sailed on Sunday. On Monday, we reported to our cabin steward that the hair dryer was malfunctioning. In fact, it was not generating heat, except it was generating smoke. Fire is the biggest hazard on board a ship and we immediately reported the malfunctioning dryer to the appropriate personnel because of this concern. The blow dryer was never replaced. There were no robes provided. The refrigerator was not operational. Other guests were smoking pot and cigarettes in interior cabins. We did not receive room service coffee delivery 3 days in a row. The slot machines ate our winnings. According to the casino personnel, "someone else got your money". After 20 minutes, the money was refunded. We had a spa day for which we were double charged. Product ordered from the spa was never delivered. The photos we purchased were not in the envelope, even though we paid for them. The clerk at guest services refused to apply cash casino winnings to our room charges. The sales people in the gift shops were rude. When I asked for crispy bacon from the buffet clerk he plopped some bacon of his choosing on my plate and said, "crispy enough". Are you getting the picture? This was a horrible experience. But, the cherry on top is the response from personnel at guest services when we brought these concerns to their attention on Saturday. They said, "If you have problems, you should come to guest services right away so we can address the concerns with the appropriate department head." Well lady, if I did that, I would have spent every minute of my vacation standing in line at guest services! I am very disappointed in Carnival. Too bad. Because I've already spent several thousand dollars on your cruise line and now my money is going to your competition. Read Less

This was my second time cruising. Myself and 4 other friends went on this cruise. There were both good and bad aspects that I want to mention. The ship was clean and nice which I expected. The food was very good with lots of choices but the waiting lines were very long, waiting could be as much as 45 minutes at times. All of our personal staff were excellent, friendly and very accommodating. Love the roominess of a balcony cabin. Lots of storage space. I always found the staff cleaning throughout the ship and felt it was very clean. The first couple of days, the service at the bars/restaurants was very good and then it was like the staff could care less. The Red Frog bar is a fun place, but getting waited on was a challenge The entertainment was very good. we were never bored. Everyone in our group became obsessed with winning one of those stupid ship trophies. It was hard to do with the rain forcing all the passengers inside, but most of us managed to win one anyway. We booked the Blue Hole and River Rapids excursion through Island Transfer and Tours for our stop in Montego Bay Jamaica. What a great experience this was. The guys at Island Transfer and Tours were very professional, helpful and did a marvelous job taking care of us. The drive to the blue hole was about two hours and my guide Byron was excellent. He gave us an history of the country, made numerous stops along the way and introduce us to local food and fruits. We got to try potato pudding, sugar cane and coconut. He was a very careful driver on the narrow road to the blue hole. When we got to the Blue hole, we had Little T for our guide. He did an excellent job taking us up the falls, showing us the caves to swim through, helping us with rope swing and cliff diving. We had a wonderful time at the Blue Hole. Byron then take us to the next place for the river tubing. This was also a very good experience. We float down the river for about 45 mins, the ride was comfortable, wasn't too fast or too slow and we ended up on a nice beach. At the end of the river tubing, Byron was waiting for us by the beach with some nice cold red strip beer. Our next stop was at Scotchies, where we had the best jerk chicken ever. Byron assisted us in getting our order and patiently waited until we were ready. We got back to the ship with plenty time to spare. Overall this was an excellent excursion for a very reasonable cost. Much less than the excursions on the ship. For our stop in Cozumel we booked the bar hop excursion (NOT through Carnival) and that was awesome. Stop at Money Bar when we arrive in Cozumel. Beautiful view of water, friendly meseros and good food with good value. Hamburguesa very good and love their potato skins. Stingray City is definitely a must-do on Grand Cayman, and it is absolutely amazing to visit these incredible creatures and see them up close and personal. There are dozens of friendly Rays, from a few feet across to over 4'. Swimming all over the sandbar, they brush up against you with their soft fins. You can hold your arms out in the water and sometimes one will swim right up into your arms! Definitely give feeding them a try, your guide will give you a chunk of squid, you hold in your hand and when one comes up you can release it into their mouth! So cool! Very awesome to watch. Overall we had a good cruise and I'm already planning my next cruise for next year. Read Less

we cruise carnival every year because we love it. this was the most disappointing cruise that we have taken by far. The staff was very stand-offish, not friendly as we are accustomed to, one instance was we were standing in the very long line waiting to eat and another traveler slipped down on the very slick floors. and two crew members standing there never offered to help her up, or ask if she was ok after other passengers helped her up. Shocking because this is not typical of Carnival. we always book suites and this suite said obstructed view. what should have been said is that if you look out the window, you are face to face with passengers so we had to keep the curtains closed the whole time. If you stepped out on the balcony, the captains crew looked up your sundress. obstructed? and these suites are not at bargain prices! the shows consisted mainly of game shows not the shows we expected. The big screen theater outside was awesome, the serenity deck and the golf, was excellent. so, we have decided to take another cruise again this year in November because this one was so disappointing for all 4 of our family members. it will just not have obstructed view and will not be on the Magic! This may seem negative to others but this was such a big disappointment for us.
