Hi, we have been on over 70+ cruises and are not fussy people. We have enjoyed Carnival in the past and since this was going to Aruba and Curaco we thought okay it has just been revamped. This is the worst designed ship I have ever been on - worse than the NCL Majesty after adding more cabins. They have added many cabins but have done things that even I can't understand. Jogging track goes over ...
This was our 19 cruise 5 of which were on Carnival. This is the first one on the Carnival Sunshine. I, like others thought the negative reviews were just from people who had it in for Carnival for one reason or another. Well, we should have taken the reviews to heart.
The stateroom was an interior room and was actually larger than we thought it would be. We had several problems there... the ...
Loved the Sunshine - it has lots of fun things to do, like a pretty intense ropes course (try doing that while on a moving ship :). There is mini golf, great movies on the big screen on the Lido deck every night with free popcorn, and TONS of deck chairs and even couches and hammocks and cool clamshell loungers in the adult Serenity are which is HUGE - 3 decks! They also had several great comedy ...
Loved my vacation. We had a spa balcony cabin at the front of deck 10. You could definitely feel the movement more here than other cabins I have sailed in before. The room seemed a bit smaller than the other rooms but was decorated beautifully. The cabin steward kept our room in tip top shape and emptied out the mini-fridge for us to store our own drinks. No room issues at all except the phone ...
This was our 3rd cruise. We had read many bad reviews about the Sunshine, but we decided to book it anyhow because we know people will complain about the smallest things. Well, this time the bad reviews were right. The sewage smell on the 4th floor where the Picture gallery is was so bad at times, we couldn't go see our photos for a couple of days. Going down to the gangway to get off the ship in ...
Hello. Let me start by saying that I am a avid cruiser and I choose to cruise with Carnival frequently. I am a Platinum member and love all the perks that come with it. I simply LOVE CARNIVAL. Well, this past cruise on the Carnival Sunshine was not as pleasant, as I wanted it to be. My husband and I were on the Carnival Sunshine last September on a Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona, Spain and ...
As I sit on my balcony here in Saint Thomas, I laugh to myself. If you asked me three days ago how I felt about the Sunshine I wold have rated it 2/5. Since we have changed cabins our experience and comfort have increased.
It's all relative. Our cabin we booked, 5346, was an aft extended balcony. Since day one we noticed a foul odor that smelt like grease and oil coming through our a/c vents. It ...
Now that it's been weeks since we got home I finally have time to write a bit.
This cruise was a Christmas gift to my daughters and grandson. No, I'm not rich. My dad left me a small inheritance last year and my sweet husband insisted I put some of it aside to "play" with as I saw fit. From the day our second daughter was born, 33 months after her older sister, I began dreaming of a Mom and ...
I must say I was very disappointed in the Carnival Sunshine (sailing date was March 16th 2014). This was my second sailing on a Carnival ship (last sailing was on the Carnival Dream in 2013) and I must say just might be my last. I will try to outline my disappointments and areas I liked below. But before I complain…there are some great things about the ship. The free popcorn on movie nights was ...
We just returned from the Mardi Gras cruise on the Carnival Sunshine out of New Orleans. Overall we had a wonderful time and even though the cruise was a little pricey when compared to other times out of New Orleans (not surprising) it was still nice. There are some serious problems in my eyes though with the Sunshine, which is an older ship (Destiny) that has been completely updated and re-named ...
