This was actually two cruises back to back. The first being 11 days from New Orleans to San Juan and the second being 10 days from San Juan to Jacksonville, Fl. Upon reaching Jacksonville, we have now sailed 15 times with Carnival. We had never sailed from New Orleans and had never sailed on the Elation. We took this 'Journey Cruise' because of the itinerary with several ports we'd never been ...

This was my 1st time cruising. We have a 10 & 11 year old (and brought my mom as well), so we thought this would be a nice short trial run to see if we liked it for future opportunities. We had already planned to visit New Orleans over the kid's spring break, so we thought this would be a good time to check it out. We booked 2 rooms (Balcony on the Verandah deck- V34 & V36) next to each ...

Carnival, NEVER AGAIN!!

Check-in and embarkation went smoothly - no complaints. First meal - lunch buffet - the best meal, other than the pizza, the entire cruise. Endless ice cream - no complaints. Dining room - meals mediocre and cold. Desserts - dining room and buffet - nothing special. Formal night - we waited 1-1/2 hrs. to be seated. Food was extremely slow getting to the table, and when it arrived, it was cold. ...

Left port out of New Orleans. Parking was $90 up front before you park. This was organized and very quick from time you pull in the garage to the time you begin boarding. 5 to 10 mins max. Once your on the boat you are immediately in tje middle of the large entertainment area. Dont let that fool you. Its kinda down hill from there. Im not going to bore you with tiny details but there are deal ...

Bad Boat Experiences

This was our first cruise and we were really looking forward to it. So lets start with day 1. Everything went pretty smooth getting on the boat, except for one rude lady that gave us our boarding pass telling my wife that she looked old. I don't know what the point of that was except just being rude. We get to our suite only to find out that it looks nothing like the photos online. Not just a ...

I always wanted to visit New Orleans, and found some cheap air tickets and this not so cheap cruise. Embarkation went smoothly, We bypassed an horrible background used to sell pictures and had lunch at Mongolian wok. Be advised that thai sauce is very hot and to ask for more shrimps, beef or chicken since the servers will put just a little bit on your bowl. That is the reason of the title of ...

We spent a week in New Orleans before ending out vacation with a quick 4 day cruise to Cozumel. We sailed on the Fascination last year, Elation's sister ship and enjoyed it. Too bad Elation didn't have the added on balconies like her sister, so we opted for an ocean view. More on that in the room review. First, let me say that the service and the workers on the ship were excellent. One of the ...

Carnival not what it used to be.

I have sailed on quite a few Carnival ships and always had a good time until recently. The last few cruises seem to be going down from what carnival used to be. I am Platinum. I have just returned from sailing on the Elation and I must say it was the worst cruise I have ever been on. We sailed from Feb. 20 to the 25th. Guest used to be treated so nice, now they are treated like cattle. We ...

After reading previous reviews, I was worried about this cruise but we had a wonderful time. I can't say enough about the service. Our dining waiters, Norman and Daniel, were excellent as well as our cabin steward Ayu. The food in dining room was very good. Pizza and deli were good also. The rest was good, not fantastic but edible. The ship was beautiful. I thought it was prettier than the ...

I had a great time on the cruise, travelling with my parents, my sister and her family. I thought the rooms were fine -I was happy with the cabins. They were clean and a little bigger than I expected - particularly the bathroom. The Ship itself is older and, if you look for it, you can see little signs of wear, but overall I really liked the ship. Especially if you go into it with reasonable ...
