We just got off the ship American Cruiseline's Spendor. Waiting at the airport now and cannot wait to write a review. We had so much fun. First of all the crew, director and right down to the last person on this ship was AAAA+++++. Everyone was so helpful, cheerful and personable. They really make the cruise smooth sailing for all. The food as usual was plenty and so good. So many good ...
I've always wanted to see the western Civil War Battlefields so for our 50th wedding anniversary we took the ACL Miss River cruise. We booked the most expensive cabin, the "owners suite" for $16,000. The cabin was large but mostly empty. They gave us wine everyday and sweet snacks in the afternoon and a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary.
The crew was great with several ...
Our Lower Mississippi River cruise proved to be very disappointing. ACL promised a lot. Unfortunately execution didn't match the promise.
Parts of three travel days were cut short when American Cruise lines announced that the ship was going to leave ports early. The day in Natchez was supposed to continue until 9:30 PM. The ATV excursion trip was cut short when ACL announced that we needed to ...
We sailed the Mississippi River on a perfect size ship stopping at historic sights and visiting mansions and battle fields. On the ship we had the opportunity to paint watercolor with a master artist and take home our paintings. Daily happy hour was accompanied with two singers and a variety of bands in the evenings. The historian on the boat was informative and interesting. The food was always ...
Beware. They can change your itinerary. You spend big money and you end up not stopping at any port.Get stuck riding on a bus for 6 plus hours a day to only spend 1 hour at your destinations.Boat could stop in the middle of nowhere and bus you around and not cruise at all.End up back in New Orleans to only be docked there for your last day and night. Not a cruise at all but a very very expensive ...
LOVED THIS RIVER CRUISE!!! Every meal was outstanding and the staff was incredibly attentive! We met so many new friends with the ability to sit with new people whenever you wanted.
We loved the plantation tours and the USS Kidd in Baton Rouge. We already came home and watched Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte that was filmed in Houmas House and plan on watching Tom Hanks in Greyhound that was filmed ...
Took wonderful trip with American Cruise Lines, aboard the America, for an 8 day cruise from New Orleans, LA to Vicksburg, MS, back to New Orleans, LA. had wanted to do a cruise on the Mississippi for well over 10 years so finally decided the time was right, following so long under Covid 19 quarantine. This was only the second cruise allowed by the US Coast Guard since restrictions were lifted, ...
I really enjoyed my relaxing cruise. Staff really catered to all of our needs. Cruise price included daily excursions which were fascinating. I had the chance to visit museums and very interesting plantations and found the tour guides to be excellent. The civil war guide was really a wealth of information. Back on the ship we had relevant lectures and the opportunity to take a fun art class. In ...
My wife and I did the three week Complete Mississippi cruise with American Cruise Line on August 3, 2019 and we were greatly disappointed. We spent two nights at the Intercontinental Hotel in New Orleans prior to the cruise which were fine. The reception staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Sarah. When we arrived on the boat, the entranceway and corridors smelled of must and mold. ...
Everything about this cruise was first class from the embarkation to the disembarkation. The Cabins are spacious for river ships and the staff is well trained and friendly. The daily cocktail hour (with premium liquors) is a good time to meet the other passengers and relax after an interesting day. The included excursions are informative and fun. The entertainment is varied and good. I was ...
