Overpriced for the value. We cruised with 14 family members. We drove down to Miami for the cruise. Parking ramp was very expensive for the five days. Parking ramp had no signage on how to get around, including getting out. Stateroom (verandah) was terrible. Bed was old and rock hard. Language barriers were prevalent with majority of staff, no matter what the setting. Some spoke the equivalent of no English, even though the majority of the guests spoke English. Nickeled and dimed to death. I found myself crying out MOOO!! many times during embarkation and debarkation as I now know how cattle feel. Room service had a significant fee for every and any type of service. Bathroom was falling apart. Our room entrance door would not close automatically (I found it open on numerous occasions), even though it is supposed to close automatically and the verandah door did not lock without learning the way to fidget with it, from our steward. Soap tray in shower fell off the wall twice and appears to have been screwed back on, in different positions, many times. Read Less

This was my first trip with Royal Caribbean, after more than a dozen cruises with Cunard, Carnival and NCL. I didn't have unreal high expectations however, after this experience, I wonder why is it that RCI is considered a higher standard in cruising? My first negative impression came from staff members, whom I suspect are underpaid and in less than decent conditions on the boat (they can't all be moody!). Most of them have questionable attitudes, as if they cannot be bothered. I am not one of those annoying, obnoxious, demanding customers, actually I have compassion and respect for workers, especially since I worked with Cunard myself. Our deluxe balcony cabin lacked bathroom supplies (no tissues, shampoo, or even bags for garbage) and seemed outdated, there was mold in the shower and in the toilet, yucks. Beds were hard and there were no individual controls for lights, which were either blinding or left us in the dark. Internet service package...I might as well not have wasted my money! Was expecting a work contract and needed to have email available, but was unable to refresh, let alone do anything online. Entertainment was mediocre at best, however I didn't expect super talent aboard a boat. What surprised me the most was the very, very poor quality of the food. Windjammer was distracting due to the buffet nature and variety...but their main dining room, Saphire, omg, every dish looked and tasted like a $3 dollar microwave meal. Don't know if I would give RCI another shot, would have to read reviews. For now, as far as big cruise liners, I believe NCL is a much better choice. This was like Carnival, with less desperate feeders and a higher quality crowd, but overly stuffed the same. Did I mention we waited 3 hours for disembarkation? Read Less

Please understand we love cruising and couldn't wait for our first time on Royal Caribbean but we just want people to be warned to set your expectations low!! Pros-- Cozumel always awesome with the beautiful water and great people Belize ok but if we don't go back no big deal Roatan awesome our first time there and Maya Key was amazing The comedy show of Alfred and Seymour were hilarious Cons-- notice that none of the pros were related to the ship other than the comedy show, where to start, well it smelled like mildew on the 8th floor (we warned you) the windjammer food is nearly inedible, the biscuits for breakfast can double as hockey pucks, the eggs were obviously instant eggs and not real, the dinner is below Golden Corral or Furrs, and the worst part is the windjammer closed at 9!!! The main dining room really the only good option was the lobster one night, the rest of the nights were average to below average at best, and the portions are pathetic. Don't complain about the food or you will be asked if you have tried the pay options of Chops or Sabor, which we didn't book the cruise so that we could pay addl money for food we should be getting served in the main dining room. Also if you have been on Carnival and had the luxury of Guys Burger joint you don't get that on RC no you get to pay for a burger at Johnny Rockets which was unfortunately the best meal we had. Next up is the pool area, the best seats that are facing the pool are reserved for suite holders so if you aren't in a suite (99% of the people) you will get to try to find one of the seats that don't face the TV screen or the action, and as for the TV screen don't worry it is all commercials for royal Caribbean and the bigger ships that are "better" than the one you paid for. The promenade that they are so proud of is a waste of space, Also PLEASE stop trying to get me to buy tanzanite I don't care!!!!! I could go on but you probably stopped reading anyway, to make a long story short (too late) we will NEVER cruise RC again not worth it! Read Less

1.Change your food menu in the promenade deck. The same old sandwiches and same desserts get old when your on a 7 day cruise. This also goes for your food in the Windjammer. You could tell they were cutting corners how some of the main entrees and desserts were prepared. I sailed on Voyager back in 2010 and that was the best cruise all around. 2.Your service is good in some area and poor in others. The retail shop Fashion District had one person working and had long lines at the register that she could not assist me with my needs. 3. The Retail Fashion shop did not have my size in shirts which is XXL. I asked for help from the staff members and was always told that she would have to wait and go to warehouse on the ship. She would check and get back with me. I left my number and she never called me back. This happened several times. 4.The balcony was not cleaned up from previous cruise. The window and railing was left dirty from last cruise. The floor on the balcony was dirty with finger nail clipping and long hair. The service was not good in windjammer and the prominade deck cafe. The waiter never asked us if we wanted drinks at our table while on this cruise in the windjammer. I had to get it. 5. The pillow cases were dirty. 6. I had originally requested that both twin beds be put together as one. I had to ask the room attendant several times to fix this. 7. Sewage was really very strong every day out in the hallways and when in certain areas of the ship and outside when at port in Jamaica you could smell it. 8. Went to Falmouth Jamaica and when I went into one of the shops I took off a magnet to look at it. It slipped out of my hands and it chipped. The manager of the shop made me pay for it. He acted very ugly about this and threatened to call the police if I refuse to pay. 9. When we were on the bus for our excursion we went through some very scary areas to get from Falmouth to Montego Bay. I was scared out of my wits. People would walk out in front of the driver. I prayed to God the bus didn't break down. The area was not safe. Then we were approached buy several guys while walking to go eat in Montego Bay trying to sell us drugs. 10. The ship needs to be painted and needs a face lift again. I cant see what was done to help the ship in the last dry dock. The boat looked like it was falling apart. 11. During the ice skating show we had to sit in the stools by the spotlight. While there an employee there were carrying on a conversation with another cruiser wanting to go to sleep together. I had to tell them to be quiet. 12. Where is the nice bar ware with the Royal Caribbean logo or anchor. Voyager had this and was very nice. 13. The blue towels that have the waves on them used out at the pool area were so worn and stained. I picked up one that was very ripped. 14. I had a hot stone message and it was not relaxing at all. The lady talked he entire time. 15. The ship looked like it had not been refurbished in dry dock. Very dirty in places on inside and the exterior needing painting so bad. The Liberty of the Seas was parked beside us in Cozumel and our ship looked like it needing painting badly in spots. I am very disappointed in Royal Caribbean. We spent a lot of money on this cruise and even did a balcony upgrade from a regular stateroom. Not sure if I will be returning to RCCL in 2015.   Read Less

This was our honeymoon. We had a great time together but would never choose Royal Caribbean again. The ship was beautiful, and well maintained. I'll start with the positive- kinda. We had an amazing room with balcony. 9060 - huge balcony off the back of the ship. The one next to us was a little bigger but it was nice for us. The chairs on the balcony were horrible. They were so uncomfortable. I tried twice to have someone get us new chairs - nothing. Very disappointing because my back was not the best at the beginning so I couldn't enjoy just relaxing out on the balcony. The food was great in the dinning room. We ate in the dinning room for almost every meal - breakfast, lunch and dinner! The only good service we got the whole week. The buffet was so crowded and food was just okay. Room service was a joke. It took an hour and a half to get our snack - no joke - a plate of chips and some fruit. We liked to sit out on deck 12 by the track and relax in the sun. The pool deck was to crazy and loud for us. There were maybe 2 bar waiters walking around the whole 7 days, and only one of them asked us once if we needed anything. The service on this ship was very low. I was so disappointed in how the crew worked. They got paid what they got because of the prepaid gratuities and you could tell. There was no motivation to work any harder. Also one thing I really disliked about this cruise was there was always an option to spend more money - even in the Dinning Room. I paid a good amount of money to eat what I want. I understand spending a little for a specialty dinner - but the dinning room??? They liked to sell EVERYTHING. They advertise for budget friendly vacations but are selling thousands of dollar watches and diamonds. Doesn't make since to me. We booked all our excursions with 3rd party companies - the locals. Belize was so frustrating because we had to be tendered. But they would only let RCI excursions on the first tenders - an hour and a half later we finally got a tender to shore. That made our excursion late and almost missed the ship coming back. Going 3rd party is the way to do it - support the local economy and businesses - makes sense. Every one paid to get on the cruise but only those who booked with RCI for excursions got special advantages for our short visit to Belize. Honduras was our favorite! Cozumel was expensive and HOT. When we got back to Galveston - it was horrible. Ship was 2 hours behind getting everybody off the boat, then forced all 3000 people into the customs line where we waited another 2.5 hours. Read Less
