We chose this cruise for a quick weekend getaway without taking much time off work. We chose the Navigator because we sailed on Mariner after the refurbishment about 6 months ago and loved the Mariner renovation. Embarkation- Incredible. From the Uber to onboard in less than 10 minutes. Terminal A is fantastic. Cabin- cabins were beautifully upgraded with new carpet and upholstery (dark blue and gray color scheme). No complaints here. All cabins were available at 1PM. Ship overall- -The good: They did a great job modernizing this older ship. It truly has a similar feel, color scheme, venues, etc. to the brand new Royal ships. The solarium and main pool are beautiful. -The bad: They WAY overdid it with the "upgrades". The outer decks are now cluttered with cabanas and massive hot tubs filled with screaming kids and drunks, so there are few chairs available in the sun. It is pretty from a brochure standpoint, but totally impractical and chaotic in real life. They removed the once beautiful fitness area at the front of the ship (along with the FREE locker room, steam and sauna areas) and moved the gym to a small, terrible location at the back of the ship. The ceilings are too low, so the treadmills do not incline, there are limited free weights, limited space, etc. They relocated it to add a whole deck of new cabins to deck 11. With the addition of hundreds of new staterooms, the elevators are always packed. Crowds and waits everywhere. This was never an issue on this ship before the added staterooms and removal of public areas. Food- I attributed this to it being a wekeend cruise, but the food was terrible aside from El Loco Fresh and specialty restaurants. Buffet options for lunch and dinner were along the lines of hamburgers, hotdogs, frozen quality pizza, rice, pasta and marinara, breads, and jello-type deserts. That is completely unacceptable for a $500 per night cruise in my opinion. Ports- CocoCay was beautiful. We had visited in December before the opening of "Perfect Day" and did not spend much time on the island because it was "blah", but they have really transformed this little island into paradise. We spent all day here. The dining options were better than on the ship, the pools and beach were wonderful, and the views were fantastic. We were very lucky with beautiful weather on this sailing. We had a great weekend, but would we chose Navigator of the Seas again? No, we would not, for the following reasons: 1) Sometimes less is more. Mariner of the Seas (sistership sailing out of Pt. Canaveral) had a slightly less extensive refurbishment that added most of the same amenities, but with less added cabins, it left the beautiful pool deck alone, and left the beautiful gym area intact. If you are a avid gym-goer or physically active, choose Mariner or Independence of the Seas for your short cruise needs. 2) There will be music or action/kids movies loudly blaring on the pool deck movie screen at all times... to the point that you will be able to hear it even in the "quiet" solarium. I assume this is Royal Caribbean's attempt to get the party going, but it kills the mood, not enhances it. 3) The free food venues were appalling. We have sailed with Royal Caribbean on approximately 25 sailings over the past 20 years, and the food was shocking on this sailing. Take advantage of El Loco Fresh and venues on CocoCay for more appealing complimentary food options. Read Less

Stateroom 6552 very quiet and calm location. Enjoyed the balcony very much! Vandie was our cabin attendant and was awesome! We were close to the elevators too. We purchased the unlimited dining package. It was great dining at the finer restaurants every night, but were not big sushi or seafood eaters so Hooked and Izumi didn’t really appeal to us. We wished we would have purchased the three day dining package and eight and the regular dining room the other two nights. Jamie’s was our favorite restaurant and we ate there three times. The lemon meringue cheesecake was heavenly. The shortribs & the lasagna was also great. We enjoyed the solarium area every day and were able to secure a cabana bed almost every time we went out there if we woke up around 7:00 am. One thing that I didn’t realize before this cruise is that they pre-authorize charges on your card daily so while they take the final balance on the last day of your cruise you’re accruing charges or pre-authorizations every day on your credit card for things like gratuities drinks souvenirs etc. Read Less

We chose this cruise as it is about a month out of dry dock from an extensive renovation. We have previously sailed on the Majesty, Allure, Freedom, and Mariner of the seas. We have also sailed on the Disney Wonder and MSC Seaside. We arrived at the port around 1:30 and basically walked onto the ship. Very quick and easy. We only got a chance to do the Riptide slide as we didn't feel like waiting in line for the blaster. We really enjoyed the solarium for adults only. We are early risers so we never had an issue getting chairs. I was thrilled to see them actually keep track of chairs that people tried to save. There were plenty of chairs all over in case they were all taken at the pool. We spent a good deal of time at the casino. We had fun but there was a lot of smoke that made it difficult to breathe. Our stateroom was great. We had a balcony towards the back and didn't have anyone above us. Our balcony was the last one, so it was slightly bigger than normal. We generally spend a good amount of time in the room, so we were disappointed with the few choices there were for tv. Even the movies you had to pay for didn't have good choices. We didn't do any excursions, so we splurged on specialty restaurants. We dined at Hooked the first night, which was decent. The food was good, but the service was lacking. We went to Jamie's Italian the second night and it was so good we went back again the final night. The main dining room was seriously lacking in food and service compared to the specialty restaurants. Even the plating was mediocre. I cook much better food at home. The food is one of the main things that we look forward to when cruising. I would absolutely recommend the dining package if it's something you're able to do. Food in the Windjammer wasn't as good as we have experienced in the past. El loco fresh was an excellent addition to the included restaurants. They do need to improve the queso though as it was tasteless and way too watery. We only had the pizza at the promenade which was good. We got wings from playmakers that were good as well, but they took much longer than we expected. Overall, we really enjoyed this cruise. We spent a LOT of time relaxing, which we desperately needed. This was my 8th cruise and first time on the Navigator. Overall, it was a great ship with a great crew. The ship is very similar to the Independence and Freedom of the Seas, which I've sailed on before and thoroughly enjoyed. Lets start with the good: - The Ice show. This was fantastic and shouldn't be missed. They have a coordinated light show using drones as part of the show and it's amazing. - The guitar singer in the Windjammer singing "washy washy" songs. Haven't seen this on any other ships, and it always brought a smile to hear the days rendition of some song converted to a "wash your hands" song. Loved it. - Cruise director and staff were very energetic and funny. - Balloon drop at midnight on the first night of the cruise. I've done a New Years eve cruise and this reminded me of that scene. It was really cool. This was the first cruise where I decided to try the specialty dining as I've always been impressed with the MDR food, so was looking forward to seeing how much better the food would be. I tried Chops and Jamie's Italian restaurants. Chops was decent, but this was no where near as good as it should have been for the price. I was expecting something along the lines of a Morton's steakhouse or Ruth's Chris quality, but it really wasn't even close...more like an Outback experience. It was good, but not worth the extra money. We had a similar experience at Jamie's, though it was even more of a disappointment. Never been to an Italian restaurant where they didn't play Italian music...instead they're playing some pop/techno stuff, that just didn't fit. I've also never been to an Italian restaurant where they don't immediately serve you bread along with some form of spread. Instead, Jamie's has some different breads as part of the appetizer menu. Also the waitress seems to over explain everything. I appreciated her knowledge, but it got to the point where we just wanted her to shut up and let us eat. The staff was wearing jeans and flannel shirts...not sure how this is Italian themed, but maybe I'm not hipster enough to get it. The desserts were hit and miss...the lemon meringue cheese cake was wonderful, the tiramisu was lacking and short of any coffee flavor. I didn't get a chance to do the escape room. It wasn't open on our last sea day so you'll want to get in early so you don't miss that. Also, one night there was an even on the cruise planner for "Stargazing on the helipad". We weren't sure what would be involved with this but assumed it would have some crew lead event of sort. Nope, it was just a bunch of people on the helipad at night, all wondering what was going on. Overall, it was a great cruise and I would definitely go on it again Read Less

My husband and I planned this cruise a while ago. We have never been to the southern Caribbean so this was a great itinerary. We very much enjoyed the ports that we went to and would recommend to anyone wanting to explore it. We are very loyal to Royal and love what all they have to offer. Aruba, Bonaire and curacao were 3 of the best ports that we have been to, and might go back in the future. The ship Navigator was in decent shape and the crew was great!! The only issue we had as far as the ship was concerned was that it was FREEZING all the time. I understand having it cold but it was a little much, and my husband is never cold and he was shivering at certain times on the ship. The food was great in the MDR, as well as all the shows that we saw. The cabin was in great order and our room attendant Nicholas was on top of our every need. There were two formal nights which were very nice. The captain was informative to us and kept us in the loop with weather, the course we were taking etc. Overall we were very pleased with the entire cruise and everything that came along with it. This was the third time we have done the Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao itinerary and the 4th time I have been on navigator. Each time gets better! We left the day after Thanksgiving out of the Port of Miami. The only real huge drawback of the entire trip was the cruise-port! This cruise-port in Miami is now borderline abysmal. We left out of terminal G. Boarding the ship took far too long. As a Diamond member the "expedited process" taking over 40 minutes was a joke. Note to the Royal Caribbean senior management bean counters - when you treat people like cattle, you have a problem. You need to fix this process. It was pretty sad. But once on board, the Navigator Magic was there. The entire staff knows this ship is going to dry dock for a major overhaul, but there they were, a crew committed to making sure their passengers would have a great time. Sure the ship is in need of updating, but the staff who run the ship dulls the age of it. The captain and his crew were awesome and the cruise director and his staff were equally all in. We had an inside cabin on Deck 7 - Aft. Our stateroom attendant Melky was simply awesome. The room was spotless everyday. Anything we asked for, he had it there in a flash. The bed however had the typical 4 inch slate pool table slab for a matress. If you want to feel like toothpaste can be squeezed out of you then you'll find out it feels. Melky did try to remedy the situation with a padded insert. It was successful in making the 4 inch slate feel like padded 4 inch slate. The toothpaste just doesn't squeeze out as fast..... Dinner in the dining room was very good. Our waiter Yu and her assistant Awayan were totally attentive and did their absolute best every night. They were impressive. Our Head Waiter Naji also was visible and made sure all the details were spot on. The whole team was top notch. We had the opportunity to spend time in the Diamond lounge and Crown Viking Bar. We were served by an outstanding staff. Zoltan was behind the bar with his colleague O'jarvis. Cruisers, it you want to be served, these two are two of the best. Zoltan gets the nod for being the absolute best, both were engaging, helpful, made the experience that much better. The viking crown is a special place, looking out at a port or stars at night, the planners at RCL knew what they were doing. But these two made the place that much better. The entertainment was excellent. The comedy, ventriloquist, dancing and ice show were all great. One thing that the Navigator has is a orchestra with a horn section. Trumpets, trombone and Saxophones. Everytime on board we enjoy this orchestra that much more. Whether they are playing in the Metropolis Theater, Royal Promenade or any other venue, the shows they put on are amazing! Ports Aruba - did an Island tour the last time, but we wanted to do some jewelry shopping and play in a few casinos. We wound up buying a very nice pair of earrings and palm tree with opal inlay at Kay's Jewelry. Aruba is a great place. The beaches are nice and so are the people. Bonaire - Spent time perusing the local shops, like Aruba, we toured the Island the last time there. But we should have taken the sunset cruise. Next time there we will do that excursion. We saw the boat go buy our ship and then we saw pictures of someone who did the excursion and took amazing sunset shots of the sun setting. Like the Grand Canyon, pictures just don't tell the whole story, you want to see it. Curacao - Another great Island. The locals are so Friendly. We did the Island tour the last time so we stayed local to Port. There is plenty of great shopping in Port and the locals are so friendly there. Next time back we will go to a beach for a few hours and enjoy it. I might not have said a lot about these three Islands, but they are all exceptional to visit. These Islands have so much individual personality to suit anyone's tastes so before going, check out travel sites and this one for ideas on excursions. Labadee was part of the itinerary - it is a great beach Island. Taking the jetski's out for a ride is a great thing for anyone old enough to do. You will enjoy RCL's island! The Fitness Center is pretty good - except they keep MSNBC on the TV's. It ruins the good vibes in the place. There should not be political on board a cruiseship - stop the nonsense. There should be music and fans too. But instead, you see the crackpots on while you are working out. Think about it... Read Less

Cruise was very nice. Ship doesn’t look worn at all. Minor issues but all ships do. Cabin was amazing and very spacious. Main dinning room was great for 7 out of 9 nights. Terminal for boarding was a nightmare. Was standing in line right by the escalators to board then a rude worker stated everyone needs to be seated or no one will board so we had to go to back of terminal to find a seat. Then they would call out levels/statuses. Of course nobody came by use to tell everyone about boarding suites so we were skipped and had to go when they called for emerald. The chefs table was amazing and well worth the price (lasted from 6:30 until almost 11). Ports were nice and not crowded, most of them we were the only ship there! Loved Bonaire and Curaçao. Aruba wasn’t that nice looking or attractive. So nice to not have many kids aboard. The total count was around 3,600 and only about 300 kids. Read Less

See belowThis truly was a disaster. My wife's 50th birthday treat, a weeks cruise. My wife was either angry or in tears for the week. Everything was going well until the first day proper when going to use the bathroom it was flooded. Not convenient when needing the toilet. Let that one slide after staff came round rodded the pipes and staff cleaned and sterilized. 2 days later went for breakfast. Asked a member of staff for some toasted white bread. Curtly informed that "its over there" I then explained that there was non only brown and got the same reply and he walked off. So I wandered around the Windjammer restaurant until I found some was brought out The very next day I went to the cafe on the Royal Promenade. Many things were on offer Pizza Rolls that had been made up by the staff behind the counter. I asked if they could make me a cheese and tomato roll as I didn't like the ones they had made. You can guess the answer...No. They did offer to make a turkey roll. I don't like turkey. At dinner ate nothing while wife ate due to not liking fatty foods lamb etc. Should mention the day before had an excellent mushroom soup. Woke up the next morning at 0645hrs by noise of machinery outside my cabin door. On getting dresssed to find out what the hell was going on, I found a maintenance worker rodding the pipes again. My neighbour in the next cabin was outside his cabin door and informed me that he had gone to use the toilet and found it flooded. I went inside my cabin and found the same. Due to previous incidents my sense of humour was really being tested. Wife at this point broke down in tears and wanted to go home. I would have left the ship if my car hadn't been at Southampton. I enquired as to moving to another cabin but was assured that all other cabins were taken. Went to the windjammer restaurant for breakfast and spoke to asst manager and informed him of incidents. He said he would arrange to have a nice fillet stake available in the main restaurant for me the next evening as an apology. I thanked him. The next evening in the main restaurant was not offered the steak so again ate nothing. I have saved the best until last. The last day of the cruise (yesterday) My wife went to the toilet only to find that she could not flush. The reason being that there was no water in the toilet. I then had to fill the toilet with water from the tap in the bathroom using the kettle. Finally I was able to flush the faeces away. I reported the matter and the problem was fixed. Staff at the front desk rang up and as we had suffered we would be be given a 20% credit off our next cruise. I refused this, I was then offered a steak dinner, I refused this and was then as a last resort offered a bottle of wine. I nearly exploded. Last night i was woken by what I thought was water sloshing about. I got up out of bed to find not only had the bathroom flooded yet again but that it had spilled over the protective lip of the bathroom and was now soaking the carpet. I got dressed, the good lady was fuming and I was a touch more than angry, I stormed down to the front desk only to find my neighbour forcefully explaining that for the third time this week and by far the worst flooding had happend. This was at 0200hrs local. I had an early call booked for 0600hrs. Staff offered both of us other rooms and explained they were ones with a balcony. As that was going to make a difference to the cruise experience. My wife and I then packed and moved everything up one floor and to the other end of the ship. Best thing about this cruise was getting off the ship. The who thing was a complete disaster. I was assured by my booking agent that Royal Carribean were a first rate cruise line. I was badly misinformed. This was our first and will probably be the last cruise I will ever go on. Is there a decent cruise line out there I wonder. I doubt any compensation will be forthcoming as an apology. I certainly wouldn't accept any discount or pay for any cruise that Royal Carribean would offer unless it was gratis for ruining my wifes 50th birthday present. (I will inform if they offer this but don't hold your breath). As soon as I can I will post pictures and video on You tube. They may say I am lying but no matter I would tell them to have a look at the maintenance mans log and it will confirm. Read Less

Everything looked shiny and new. There were some nice additions such as a hand washing station at the entrance to the buffet. Being a vegetarian I was disappointed that the previously available vegetarian menu has now disappeared. The staff however went the extra mile to try and meet my dietary needs. I never left the table hungry. The food was overall just OK. Nothing special but nothing to complain about either. The entire staff was always friendly and did a great job at keeping the ship immaculate. .The ships activities were mostly geared toward income generating activities. Entertainment was typical for cruise shows. The ice skating show was good as was the comedian/magician. All in all nothing to complain about but nothing memorable either. Read Less

Have cruised with RCCI previously. Expected the ship to feel big, like Independence, but in reality seemed a little smaller..didn't matter though. Quality of musicians in the bars around Navigator were exceptional. Bar tenders very friendly and attentive. Remembered our name, cabin number and drinks preference, really quickly, was very impressed. Jacuzzis lovely and warm and quite easy to find sunbeds most days. Food delicious, one other reviewer here has complained at the length of time that it took to have dinner. For me, going out for dinner is an occasion, that doesn't want to be rushed. A little empathy and a pleasant personality ensures that your requirements are met. We had no trouble getting a table in the area we preferred, with the fabulous waiting staff we preferred (Edwin, Karan, Fabiano) and catered for by Estefania at the door...very very attentive and ensured we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Perhaps if other passengers are wanting to be 'fed quickly', they should eat in the Wind Jammer...quality food and service takes time. I do agree there was a lack of accompanying vegetables with the starter and main meals, however, if you add up all the calories, from start to finish of the 3 course dinner, plus drinks, there is certainly no shortage of calories there. Wanted a longer cruise outside the school holiday. Never been to the Canaries before. The ship was Beaty with a lot of decoration and art. Clean and good taken care of. Our incide cabin had everything we needed and a lot of places to store our things, perfectly located on deck nine between the two lifts. Our stateroom attendant Ida did a Great job and kept it clean and was so nice to us all the time. Had read so many reviews about the need of upgrade, but that was not my experience. Always chairs available outside and it was never difficult to swim in the three pools or find a place in one of the jacuzzi. The food was very good. Specially impressed by the food in Windjammer that had a lot of choices. Also had very nice food in the MD and very good service thanks to Luise and Felix. Did take the Galley brunch and visit the kitchen and can understand how much work it is for the people in the kitchen and for the waiters to serve all the passengers. Also had some meals in chops grill and Giovanni as part of a prebooked 5dinner package. The entertainment was overall very good with some extra memorable experiences as the ice-show, the Barricade boys, Perry Grant and Craig Halliday. Cuddly was a very good as entertainment manager. Only one bad experience; with the spa treatment with a big pressure of bying products, so don’t think I will take any more spa treatments in the future. Did very excursion wit RCCL in Lisbon and Agadir. The Hippo Hippo tour with Anna in Lisbon was fantastic fun and let us see some of the major places. I don’t think We would like to go by our self in Agadir but had an very nice guide and did not felt unsafe during the excursion. I also think they was so pushing selling things in Agadir as earlier experience in Morocco. The best excursion we had was in Lanzarote with Lanzarote Experience. We had a group of 13 with our very nice guide and driver Angela on the whole day trip called grand tour. We was able to see the Timanfaya National Park, wine growing area, cactus garden, Cuevas de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua. We also had a tour in La Corunna with Hercules tours, a two hour tour around the city. The other places as Vigo, Las Palmas and Madeira we just walked around the city, easy from the chip. Will recommend Navigator and the Canaries. Read Less

It just keeps getting worse. I’ve been on 2 cruises before, all with Royal Caribbean and I thought they were ok but this year was bad. - Embarkation was smooth. - Breakfast was the same every morning ( sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs etc) I wish there were more healthy options. - Lunch was good, more varieties and new things every day - Dinner and service was good apart from Steak. I ate lots of steaks in different places and I know what medium rare means. These steaks were raw. Four of us ordered and they were all raw. Definitely go for medium well instead. - The stateroom attendant was friendly - The shows were not so good compared to Independence. There was a very good comedian in the first night. On the last night there was a different comedian which wasn’t that good. Some of his jokes were word by word the same as some of the first comedian which was painful to watch. - The cruise director was ok but not very involved. - The ports weren’t very good. Le Havre is too far from Paris so took an excursion to Deauville and Honfleur which were really beautiful. Portugal was ok but not as nice as France. Vigo was a waste of time - The next cruise discounts on board were terrible. Basically 40 dollars off a oceanview stateroom and 165 dollars deposit per person which was not refundable if cancelled. Overall there wasn’t anything wow but just ok. I don’t think it was worth the money. Once I got to airport I realised I forgot my brand new suit and 2 ties in the stateroom. I know it was my fault but there was 0 help with that. Once they take your money they don’t care anymore. That is definitely my last cruise with them and will start trying out other cruise lines. Cabin was good size but balcony a bit small. Sheets not changed in the 2 weeks we stayed but was kept clean. Dining in main dining room was excellent, food service was outstanding thanks to our waiter Omar. Mixed feelings about speciality dining ... Chops Grill was exceptional the first time we visited but the second time almost inedible due to the massive amount of salt used in everything. I asked for orange sorbet again the second night and was told they only had ‘rainbow’ sorbet ... this had chunks of ice in it and was quite obviously all the bits of left over tubs mixed together ... not pleasant! There were not enough staff at pool bars and quality of drinks was variable ... staff worked exceptionally hard but had no time to talk or prepare frozen cocktails properly. The worst issues we experienced was the lack of sun beds available. People were leaving towels on them from early morning and not returning for hours! Little enforcement made by staff to remove said towels and we therefore were totally unable to find any sun beds in the sun ... we walked the ship for over an hour one dat trying to find 2 beds ... exasperating!! Headliner shows were OK but nowhere near as good as The Oasis and the crew shows were terrible! On board musicians were excellent and on the whole staff were helpful. Guest Services not as helpful and queues often of over 30 mins. The behaviour of children was often poor and unchallenged ... frequent charging up and down stairs and pressing lift buttons on all floors and often in jacuzzis until midnight! We had the same films showing for the whole 2 weeks. We did our own trip Dolphin Safari in Gibraltar which was excellent and did RC Cádiz Flamenco trip which was also outstanding. In Lisbon we took our own Tuk Tuk which was also brilliant. Palma was a delight and we loved the fact we were there overnight. Cagliari in Sardinia was our least favourite...scruffy and not much to do. Read Less

Time of year and amazing destinations we have never experienced before. Most were easily explored on our own. Great weather may for memorable sunsets and good use of the balcony. Travelling under the Great Belt Bridge with 1.5 metres to spare at midnight was thrilling. We enjoyed the itinerary so much we would repeat the experience one day. Would have liked to call into Stockholm but was not on this itinerary. Entertainment was pretty good especially the pianist in the Schooner Bar which had a great atmosphere. The ships orchestra were brilliant and much enjoyed also as trios at other times. The dining experience was the only thing that let it down - the queues were enormous and sometimes we decided to go without a dessert or we would have missed a show. The service was slow arriving from the kitchen to the table. The food was great when it came but when you are sitting on a table for two it was a long wait and when you are sitting on a larger table we sometimes run out of conversation! The food itself was delicious even for us vegetarians. Read Less

This was supposed to be really good value, including a full drinks package and all tips. Not sure that the price we paid was actually that good compared to others. Evening entertainment was very average - only three shows from the troupe in 12 nights. A Comedian and a Ventriloquist - the 70's called - they want their entertainment back. Darren Day really? The 3 tenors style show was great singing, just not my cup of tea. The Access All Areas show was good. Ice Dance show was good. Quizes good, but they really need to get the answers right, too many mistakes. Food quality generally excellent, but the lack of seating in the Windjammer was quite wearing. When having dinner with your partner, you usually want to eat together not one of you get the table and then separately go for your food. Our table in the Sapphire (474) was garbage, no view, dark and dingy stuck in a corner by the managers office. Tours - we didn't use the company tours, booking our own was much, much, better. However, scheduling stops in Norway on a Sunday (everything closed) and Helsinki on Solstice Day (everything closed) is just plain stupid. Red Sun Tours in St Petersburgh were fantastic. Choice of films was a bit limited, but just about acceptable. The bars were ok, as was the range of drinks and beers. The piano player Anthoiny and the singer Ian were both good. the others were competant but not really my thing. The two theme nights seemed to be enjoyed by most people. Cosmopoloitan was the best bar. Library was a joke, nowhere to sit comfortably and read. I really dont understand how a casino cruise has an activity of Bridge, but bring your own cards. Really? the casino cannot afford to put some old cards out for the card players? This has come over a a bit moany and thats maybe not a reflection of my overall enjoyment of the cruise. Both of us enjoyed it, but really hoped for a bit more. Read Less

Cruise chosen because of destinations. Dining and entertainment was excellent the variety and performers were top class. The service provided by dining room staff and stateroom attendant was excellent and the food was excellent too. The ship was well maintained, clean with first class hygiene standards. We found the excursion staff not as helpful as I would have expected and one or two were quite surly. While an airport transfer was not available on the RCI website in advance a transfer to Gatwick was available on board at $100 whereas National Express was £24 after a short taxi ride for £5. WiFi was $12.99 a day and one had to purchase 12 days. The WiFi was extremely slow and expensive. I would have expected WiFi to be free as it is on board Emirates flights and many coffee shops, airports and National Express buses. We found the ship to be too big and crowded and difficult to find seating in coffee shop, windjammer and lounges. The time ashore at some of the ports of call was too short and the excursions desk would not or could not provide adequate information as to alternative tour arrangements available dockside. On the whole though the cruise was enjoyable with 4 relaxing days at sea and well chosen ports of call. Read Less

This is the first time for me to travel by cruise, it is an excellent experience. The ship and stateroom are very clean and nice. The stateroom attendant was very efficient and did a good work. The staff on the cruise are very friendly and helpful. Especially the wait persons were very attentive and friendly. We had couples days in the ships cruising and there were lots of things to do during those days, and you would not feel bored in the ship. The environment in the ship was very nice and comfortable. The maintanance of the ships was excellent. Food was very nice and lots of different cuisine and variety to choose for. The menus was slightly different everyday so that you could have different food everyday. And there were some other special restaurants which is worth to try. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to go with this trip with Navigator of the seas. Read Less

We chose this cruise due to the itinerary and destinations and had never been on a cruise before. After this cruise I have to say that we're now complete cruise converts. Such an easy way to travel from check in, to ports to departure. The ship was beautiful with a great choice of bars and restaurants. There was always something to do even on the days we were at sea. The only thing that could potentially have been improved is that at some of the ports the departure time was early so we didn't get that long to explore. We did a couple of the excursions which were fine, but would prefer to explore ourselves so not to be hanging around waiting for other people and this was easy enough to do. The service was second to none and we would have no hesitation in booking with Royal Caribbean again. Read Less

Chose the cruise because of good price for the balcony cabin. Very nice cruise. Enjoyed a lot. I tried many other cruising companies and this was my first cruise with RCI. My expectations were high and ibfigued out that there is a tiny difference to other companies. In some issues RCI were slighly better (MDR), in some NCL was better (shows), in some MSC was better (design) and in some Princess were better (for children). But usually RCI are the most expensive so value for money is not the best. Anyway, if find good price would choose RCI but only new ships as this one showed its age. This cruise was tailored especially for British guests. So fifty percent of shows were some UK comediants that were not so interesting for non UK guests like us. Moreover, looks like RCI just copied PnO entertainment program. So instead being RCI the ship tried to be PnO. The real difference is in a very high level crew members and very good MDR food. The Navigator of the Seas this cruise was exceptional! From the moment you arrive at the Southampton Cruise Terminal the customer service made getting our luggage and ourselves so quickly and easily. All rooms were ready at 1:00 PM. CABINS- The cabin was clean, stocked and the attendant catered to every need. The beds were super surprisingly comfortable for both my husband and I . The cabin was well insulated and we slept soundly every night. We had absolutely not one issue with our cabin. We wished we would have upgraded to a balcony to get the cool north sea breeze into our room but we didn't think about it . FOOD-The food was exceptional as well. EVERYWHERE. From the windjammer we decided to eat there most evenings. The chef Joseph on this ship prepared fresh fish and chips for our table with different fish every night. This was not the norm. He saw how we enjoyed them on day one and they were not on the menu any other night so he brought a platter each night. Another aspect of the food was they really took great care and made the food comparable to the ports. Like we were in Germany and they had sausages...The mornings they made sure the English and different Europeans had their traditional foods available as well . (We are Americans). The Cafe Promenade Coffee was one of our favorites. They had ILLY coffee which we loved! We highly encourage you to purchase the beverage package. We added it up and even though my husband doesn't drink alcohol by end of day two it paid for itself. The bottles of water , spring, or sparkling was available all day and on the excursions as well. The wines they poured were premium wines. We didn't see one cheap bottle the whole cruise. We did eat in two specialty restaurants. Chops Grille..yes go! and Giovanni ended up being our favorite! We had steak there as well and they brought all the superb Italian entrees as side dishes for us to try. On Board Activities - highly recommend the Sushi Making Class! Flow Rider was a big hit for my husband! He surfed in the North Sea.. SHOWS and Entertainment-They also took great care in the movies they selected. They were for the region we were cruising to and from, We would wrap up on blankets on the pool deck (get your blankets early this was surprisingly popular) and wrap up and watch the movies. The north sea wind didn't stop anyone! It was very fun. Nice Quiet areas- our favorites areas for solitude was the solarium. We love children but this is a nice quiet area for adults. The steam and Sauna we used daily. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful the ports and cities we visited. I highly recommend the excursion Lubeck in Germany. We enjoyed the service on this ship. It was comforting at night to watch the TV with the cruise director and activities director informing us about the next day , very helpful Read Less

I had done my homework on Royal Caribbean and overall was very happy with the 2 weeks on board, the food and staff especially were the stand out features closely followed by top class entertainment each evening, my only negatives were the prices for the excursions which I found too high, the drinks packages were also very expensive, I didn't like the fact you couldn't buy 1 alcohol package especially as my wife doesn't drink, the only way to get this would of ben to provide a doctors note, this was very disappointing, all inclusive could mean that which would of made this a 10/10 holiday. The times in port could of been longer, especially Rome, for me I would of preferred an overnight in Rome and missed one of the other ports, every day was a bit of a rush, but it is a fantastic way to see so many different places. Finally we met some lovely people, some of which we will keep in touch with, this made the holiday that bit more special. Read Less

We chose this cruise due to the number of countries it stoped in.The ship Navigator of the Seas was very clean and the staff on board were simply the best! We started out in Southampton England and since we came in a day early we decided to take the train to Windsor and tour the Castle. That was one of the highlights of the vacation. The next morning we boarded the ship with ease. Our cabin was in a great location with easy access to the stairs and elevators. The food all over the ship was wonderful. It always amazes me on how they can prepare so much food for so many people and it still has such great flavor. The service we received was second to none. The entertainment was good overall but there was one comedian that was British and we couldn't really understand him. He also sang and that was really good. The Ice Skating show is a must! Fabulous!! All of the stops we wonderful but our overall favorite was Alicante,Spain. What a beautiful place and so clean. At the completion of the cruise we chose express check out as we had a very early flight. It was a breeze..We definitely will cruise with Royal Caribbean again(as this is our 7th) and I hope it will be very soon. Read Less
