This was our honeymoon cruise we told the cruise line this having been on other cruises I knew what to expect it was my wife's first cruise I told her what to expect however the small touches were missing lots of corners cut simple things like chocolate on your pillow bed turn down I don't expect these things to me done but on past experiences it has been done and always think it's a lovely little touch.ive always syayed in interior cabins and I knew what to expect but the cabin was very grubby. I did not like the dining experiance we were only offered 6.30 or 8.30 dining didn't get offered my time dining when booked Going to dinner on the first night and being sat with 8 people we didn't know and this would be our table for the next 14 nights we had never been so uncomfortable I do not like eating in front of people I don't know we was on our honeymoon and wanted our own space. We went to customer services and ask them to help us out was told to speak to restaurant manager which we did the following evening we was told he has 3 sheets of paper of people asking for tables for two may be Royal Carribean should look into share dining a bit more a lot of people we spoke to did not like the share table and choose to eat in windjammer which is a shame because fine dining is all about the experiance of a cruise.ship very dusted in public places bar areas broken chairs other passengers who have been on this ship a few times said its the worse it has been lots of corners being cut. We all knew it was going to dry docks in January but it's not a excuse for cleanliness. Staff also seem very sparse but they did work very hard and always very polite and friendly but maybe a bit short staffed Read Less

Honeymoon ... not that any staff recognised this. Having sailed on The Oasis previously, this cruise was way below the Oasis standard. Embarkation and disembarkation were good and fast. Cabin was good size but balcony a bit small. Sheets not changed in the 2 weeks we stayed but was kept clean. Dining in main dining room was excellent, food service was outstanding thanks to our waiter Omar. Mixed feelings about speciality dining ... Chops Grill was exceptional the first time we visited but the second time almost inedible due to the massive amount of salt used in everything. I asked for orange sorbet again the second night and was told they only had ‘rainbow’ sorbet ... this had chunks of ice in it and was quite obviously all the bits of left over tubs mixed together ... not pleasant! There were not enough staff at pool bars and quality of drinks was variable ... staff worked exceptionally hard but had no time to talk or prepare frozen cocktails properly. The worst issues we experienced was the lack of sun beds available. People were leaving towels on them from early morning and not returning for hours! Little enforcement made by staff to remove said towels and we therefore were totally unable to find any sun beds in the sun ... we walked the ship for over an hour one dat trying to find 2 beds ... exasperating!! Headliner shows were OK but nowhere near as good as The Oasis and the crew shows were terrible! On board musicians were excellent and on the whole staff were helpful. Guest Services not as helpful and queues often of over 30 mins. The behaviour of children was often poor and unchallenged ... frequent charging up and down stairs and pressing lift buttons on all floors and often in jacuzzis until midnight! We had the same films showing for the whole 2 weeks. We did our own trip Dolphin Safari in Gibraltar which was excellent and did RC Cádiz Flamenco trip which was also outstanding. In Lisbon we took our own Tuk Tuk which was also brilliant. Palma was a delight and we loved the fact we were there overnight. Cagliari in Sardinia was our least favourite...scruffy and not much to do. Read Less

Great choice of food at Windjammer and staff always going the extra mile to make you cruise memorable, good choice of activities but not the best ships if you have children under 4 years old. Returned to ship after 10 years and couldn't believe how much the price of drinks have increased, cheapest bottle of wine $34 going to $330., bottle drinks you are looking at least $8 for a can of Boddingtons bitter or 500ml bottle of Old Speckled Hen as an example. All drinks have an 18% service change so please budget for this additional cost. Deluxe drinks package is not built for a light / moderate drinker, budget for nearly £70 per day on your drinks as a couple. A deluxe package for a 14-night cruise will set you back $910 (£685) if you have not managed to have this added to your deal. Look at booking on another ship of the fleet if you are traveling with young children, any babies or children no toilet trained as unable to go into the pool (no even with swim nappy). Fantastic ship for couples and a mature traveller, mixed activities to keep all the guests entertained. Ask Royal Caribbean to avoid adding Morocco to future port of call. Shore Excursions can also set you back if you are planning to sign up for a tour, anything from $35 to $150 as a guideline per person. Read Less

Magnificent ship with staff that went out if there way to help out and make my family cruise a holiday not to forget. There was so much food in quantity and diversity and the quality was second to none. All over the ship there was different entertainment going on so everyone had a brilliant time. We were all treated like royalty and every corner you turned there was a happy smiling faced member of crew. From the moment we stepped on board to the excursions, the staff couldn't do enough for us. This was our first cruise and we were unsure if we would like the experience. We loved the fact we could step off our floating hotel and see different cultures and people. Take in the architecture and sample local foods and wine. All excursions were professionally undertaken and we personally couldn't wait to get back onboard at the end of the day to feast in one of the many restaurants. We are now converted, roll on the next cruise Read Less

We chose this ship and iteniary to celbrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We are experienced cruisers ,this being our 23rd cruise with RCCl and we have 31 cruises all together. We sailed with our group of 20 long time friends. We spent 3 days in London prior to the cruise and traveled to South Hampton on a privately charted bus. We found embarkcation to be very efficient which resulted in us having lunch about 20 minutes after arriving at the pier. The Navigator was in pristine condition following her makeover. The food in the dining room ,was the best we have had in a long time. It reminded us of our early days of cruising with generous portions and fast service Both our waiter and assistant waiter were very helpful in providing information on the various dishes. The service was very efficient but at the same time we never felt rushed. The Cruise director Clo was fanatstic. It is the first time where we have found the cruise director actually stop and have conversations with people she met during her walks around the ship. The entertainment was fantastic. Each show had a different theme ranging from production shows to magicians , a fantastic violinist and finally ending with a tribute to the Beatles,by 4 young men who looked and sounded just like the Fab 4. That show lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes with the audience standing and singing along for most of the show. The shore excursions were for the most part very nice ,the one port that could have been skipped was Agadir. The place was filthy with garbage strewn all over. All in all it was probably the best cruise we have taken in a long time. Thank you RCCL for providing an excellent product Read Less

For the ports of call and the overall Royal Caribbean experience. We arrived on 9/29 at the air port by the RC transportation service who where on time, warm and welcoming. We decided not to come a day in advance but to fly directly to London and onto the ship. The embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. The overall experience was really great. The weather was a little colder than expected however, the RC experience was executed as normal. The ship, entertainment, activities, service and excursions were worth the trip. We would no doubt go again. My cabin however was a different story... Our cabin on the onset seem to be nice however after a closer look the story was different. I was accustom to having good accommodations, however, I began to notice several things: The room had not being dusted or vacuumed properly; I notice and picked up huge dust bunnies that I personally gathered with the door stop. The same underneath the desk. The bathroom was smelly due to septic problem which caused the toilet to be black inside. I did report it and an engineer came the next day. The stateroom attendant tried to assist but to no avail. Nevertheless, the smell was unwelcomed and continued. Also, it seemed that the cabin had not been clean properly. The towels were thrown onto the shelves and strings were hanging. This showed me the person did not care or was lazy. We were given a bottle of champagne for the inconvenience. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. We were not enthusiastic about the size, and the large number of passengers, but the itinerary was our goal. The ship was SO crowded - on sea days, the Promenade was clogged with people; the tiny library was almost always full (no cash earnings, there, I guess) and the Windjammer was chaotic. We were mainly happy with the food, although usually not hot enough in Windjammer. The MDR food was good, but very repetitive. Cabin stewards fantastic - great service. I find RCL to be at "nuisance" level in terms of trying to extract money at every turn. . . . . . Constant spruiking of "free seminars" at the spa which were unadulterated sales pitches for every possible health aid. Misleading advertising. Also, unless you were taking a ship excursion, there was virtually no info on ports - on other companies, we've been given maps, fact sheets, and talks. Not anything on RCL. Not a big ask, I would have thought. It wasn't a disaster, but a few small things would have made an immense difference. Embarkation & disembarkation were smooth and quick. Full marks. Read Less

Our first cruise out of Southampton , no flights Great port facilities, car parks next to ship. Boarding was quick. We picked this cruise because of itenary and was not disappointed Only Vigo was a bit disappointing being Sunday and nothing open. Highlights being azores and maderia. We did, nt do excursions at every port but the ones we did were excellent Our cabin was OK and alway kept, clean, attendants work so hard. I have seen people moan about the food but I don't, t know why we did,nt have one bad meal plenty of choices and food always hot. Tried 2 specialist restaurants chops and sabor both excellent. To my surprise the windjammer was OK too, had some bad experiences on previous ships. Entertainment was good as usual and cruise director chubby was very entertaining, liked his meditation classes. All the facilties were great, we like the gym especially, like the fact you can have sauna or sit in jacuzzi after. Bars were all good, service was excellent and friendly but why so many brits(I, m British) what to sit in a pub astounds me! The only thing that I found out on this trip was that when weathers bad on cruise days there did, nt seem to be enough seating. We were a bit unlucky with weather on sea days but that's just something you can, t control. Royal carribean need to sort out the sun beds we did, nt get chance to use one in solarium at all, one afternoon there were 6*people and the rest covered in towels, bit of a joke. All together though great trip Leaving ship was very good sad to go home Read Less

Boarding was quick and painless - 40 minutes from having our cases taken away from the car, and then parking in Southampton, we were in the Windjammer having a drink and choosing lunch. In the stateroom by 1pm, cases there, and we went down to dinner at 6 relaxed and looking forward to dinner. The food was good - and there was plenty of choice. The main restaurant served daily specials with a core menu of regular choices, all to a good standard, and the Windjammer at lunchtime offered around a dozen choices from the buffet including a daily carvery, Indian selections, Chinese, pasta, as well as various casseroles/pies. There was a good selection of salads as well. If we chose something that wasn't to our taste, then we got something else, and ate well. Service was exceptional. Staff were friendly, and quick. Wine came quickly, and with a smile, and nothing was too much trouble. There was a comprehensive entertainment programme which we enjoyed. Again, if we weren't enjoying something we left. There was always something to do. We avoided the excursions but went ashore under our own steam - particularly enjoyable were Cadiz, Malaga, and Avaccio. Cabin was roomy, clean and the shower was excellent. A great choice of bars Disembarkation was smooth and painless, we left the cases out on the last night, and walked off without any delay, where they were easy to find. From ship to car in 30 minutes, and then the drive home. I take the view that you get out what you put in - looking at some of the other reviews makes me sad for the people who wrote them Beware the moaners - they will suck the life out of you if you let them. I guess being miserable and wanting to share it is a lifestyle choice for some people but don't let them ruin your holiday or affect your choices. This was a great experience, and one we highly recommend. Read Less

This cruise was made brilliant by the ship staff and the entertainment. The Moroccan stop was disappointing as its definitely not as good as Tangier where we have been before. The canaries stops are what you would expect and great for the winter sun. LaHavre is way too far from paris so we went to a quaint little fishing villiage instead. I have to say I really enjoyed the stops and some were great for relaxing and others great for exploring. The food was good as always although as always the windjammer was very hectic with food you would expect from a cafe rather than somewhere with fine dining. I think they have cut out too much of the windjammer for the 2 speciality restaurants they inserted as this has undoubtedly stolen space from the free dining of the windjammer. I would also say that the dining room was also better than the speciality restaurants and so I wouldn't bother paying for those again. We enjoyed this cruise so much though that we did book our next one while on board!! Read Less
