Time of year and amazing destinations we have never experienced before. Most were easily explored on our own. Great weather may for memorable sunsets and good use of the balcony. Travelling under the Great Belt Bridge with 1.5 metres to spare at midnight was thrilling. We enjoyed the itinerary so much we would repeat the experience one day. Would have liked to call into Stockholm but was not on this itinerary. Entertainment was pretty good especially the pianist in the Schooner Bar which had a great atmosphere. The ships orchestra were brilliant and much enjoyed also as trios at other times. The dining experience was the only thing that let it down - the queues were enormous and sometimes we decided to go without a dessert or we would have missed a show. The service was slow arriving from the kitchen to the table. The food was great when it came but when you are sitting on a table for two it was a long wait and when you are sitting on a larger table we sometimes run out of conversation! The food itself was delicious even for us vegetarians. Read Less

This was supposed to be really good value, including a full drinks package and all tips. Not sure that the price we paid was actually that good compared to others. Evening entertainment was very average - only three shows from the troupe in 12 nights. A Comedian and a Ventriloquist - the 70's called - they want their entertainment back. Darren Day really? The 3 tenors style show was great singing, just not my cup of tea. The Access All Areas show was good. Ice Dance show was good. Quizes good, but they really need to get the answers right, too many mistakes. Food quality generally excellent, but the lack of seating in the Windjammer was quite wearing. When having dinner with your partner, you usually want to eat together not one of you get the table and then separately go for your food. Our table in the Sapphire (474) was garbage, no view, dark and dingy stuck in a corner by the managers office. Tours - we didn't use the company tours, booking our own was much, much, better. However, scheduling stops in Norway on a Sunday (everything closed) and Helsinki on Solstice Day (everything closed) is just plain stupid. Red Sun Tours in St Petersburgh were fantastic. Choice of films was a bit limited, but just about acceptable. The bars were ok, as was the range of drinks and beers. The piano player Anthoiny and the singer Ian were both good. the others were competant but not really my thing. The two theme nights seemed to be enjoyed by most people. Cosmopoloitan was the best bar. Library was a joke, nowhere to sit comfortably and read. I really dont understand how a casino cruise has an activity of Bridge, but bring your own cards. Really? the casino cannot afford to put some old cards out for the card players? This has come over a a bit moany and thats maybe not a reflection of my overall enjoyment of the cruise. Both of us enjoyed it, but really hoped for a bit more. Read Less

Cruise chosen because of destinations. Dining and entertainment was excellent the variety and performers were top class. The service provided by dining room staff and stateroom attendant was excellent and the food was excellent too. The ship was well maintained, clean with first class hygiene standards. We found the excursion staff not as helpful as I would have expected and one or two were quite surly. While an airport transfer was not available on the RCI website in advance a transfer to Gatwick was available on board at $100 whereas National Express was £24 after a short taxi ride for £5. WiFi was $12.99 a day and one had to purchase 12 days. The WiFi was extremely slow and expensive. I would have expected WiFi to be free as it is on board Emirates flights and many coffee shops, airports and National Express buses. We found the ship to be too big and crowded and difficult to find seating in coffee shop, windjammer and lounges. The time ashore at some of the ports of call was too short and the excursions desk would not or could not provide adequate information as to alternative tour arrangements available dockside. On the whole though the cruise was enjoyable with 4 relaxing days at sea and well chosen ports of call. Read Less

This is the first time for me to travel by cruise, it is an excellent experience. The ship and stateroom are very clean and nice. The stateroom attendant was very efficient and did a good work. The staff on the cruise are very friendly and helpful. Especially the wait persons were very attentive and friendly. We had couples days in the ships cruising and there were lots of things to do during those days, and you would not feel bored in the ship. The environment in the ship was very nice and comfortable. The maintanance of the ships was excellent. Food was very nice and lots of different cuisine and variety to choose for. The menus was slightly different everyday so that you could have different food everyday. And there were some other special restaurants which is worth to try. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to go with this trip with Navigator of the seas. Read Less

We chose this cruise due to the itinerary and destinations and had never been on a cruise before. After this cruise I have to say that we're now complete cruise converts. Such an easy way to travel from check in, to ports to departure. The ship was beautiful with a great choice of bars and restaurants. There was always something to do even on the days we were at sea. The only thing that could potentially have been improved is that at some of the ports the departure time was early so we didn't get that long to explore. We did a couple of the excursions which were fine, but would prefer to explore ourselves so not to be hanging around waiting for other people and this was easy enough to do. The service was second to none and we would have no hesitation in booking with Royal Caribbean again. Read Less

Chose the cruise because of good price for the balcony cabin. Very nice cruise. Enjoyed a lot. I tried many other cruising companies and this was my first cruise with RCI. My expectations were high and ibfigued out that there is a tiny difference to other companies. In some issues RCI were slighly better (MDR), in some NCL was better (shows), in some MSC was better (design) and in some Princess were better (for children). But usually RCI are the most expensive so value for money is not the best. Anyway, if find good price would choose RCI but only new ships as this one showed its age. This cruise was tailored especially for British guests. So fifty percent of shows were some UK comediants that were not so interesting for non UK guests like us. Moreover, looks like RCI just copied PnO entertainment program. So instead being RCI the ship tried to be PnO. The real difference is in a very high level crew members and very good MDR food. The Navigator of the Seas this cruise was exceptional! From the moment you arrive at the Southampton Cruise Terminal the customer service made getting our luggage and ourselves so quickly and easily. All rooms were ready at 1:00 PM. CABINS- The cabin was clean, stocked and the attendant catered to every need. The beds were super surprisingly comfortable for both my husband and I . The cabin was well insulated and we slept soundly every night. We had absolutely not one issue with our cabin. We wished we would have upgraded to a balcony to get the cool north sea breeze into our room but we didn't think about it . FOOD-The food was exceptional as well. EVERYWHERE. From the windjammer we decided to eat there most evenings. The chef Joseph on this ship prepared fresh fish and chips for our table with different fish every night. This was not the norm. He saw how we enjoyed them on day one and they were not on the menu any other night so he brought a platter each night. Another aspect of the food was they really took great care and made the food comparable to the ports. Like we were in Germany and they had sausages...The mornings they made sure the English and different Europeans had their traditional foods available as well . (We are Americans). The Cafe Promenade Coffee was one of our favorites. They had ILLY coffee which we loved! We highly encourage you to purchase the beverage package. We added it up and even though my husband doesn't drink alcohol by end of day two it paid for itself. The bottles of water , spring, or sparkling was available all day and on the excursions as well. The wines they poured were premium wines. We didn't see one cheap bottle the whole cruise. We did eat in two specialty restaurants. Chops Grille..yes go! and Giovanni ended up being our favorite! We had steak there as well and they brought all the superb Italian entrees as side dishes for us to try. On Board Activities - highly recommend the Sushi Making Class! Flow Rider was a big hit for my husband! He surfed in the North Sea.. SHOWS and Entertainment-They also took great care in the movies they selected. They were for the region we were cruising to and from, We would wrap up on blankets on the pool deck (get your blankets early this was surprisingly popular) and wrap up and watch the movies. The north sea wind didn't stop anyone! It was very fun. Nice Quiet areas- our favorites areas for solitude was the solarium. We love children but this is a nice quiet area for adults. The steam and Sauna we used daily. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful the ports and cities we visited. I highly recommend the excursion Lubeck in Germany. We enjoyed the service on this ship. It was comforting at night to watch the TV with the cruise director and activities director informing us about the next day , very helpful Read Less

A good 2nd RC cruise, generally. The ship is lovely; there's lots to do. The food is great, the staterooms nice and the staff/service are amazing. Sadly it's getting quite Butlins. For the price, it's less swish and luxurious than you'd imagine, especially compared to other lines. Whilst it was fun, it was over-crowded, and quite ropey in-parts, where activities/entertainment were aimed at families/young children. It was quite low-brow and populist; endless Bingo and Karaoke, people going to dinner in hoodies/tracksuits. There were children everywhere, and this was encouraged by nature of the activities/entertainment. It felt more like a holiday-camp than a nice, posh cruise, which seems a shame, given it's marketed as a luxury. Also, facilities couldn't accommodate the number of passengers. The Windjammer was over-capacity, bars were full; you couldn't find a seat anywhere. Too many people packed-on without thought of how they would spend their time on-board. Read Less

I travelled in a group of 8. This was my 6th cruise. My 1st Royal Caribbean Ship. I don't think I will be travelling on any other ship until I have done all the Royal Caribbean ships. Embarkation and disembarkation was so quick and smoothly. everything about the ship was wonderful. The stateroom (I like that name instead of cabin) sound posh. There was everything that you needed was in the room.It was clean and spacious. The dining room was a luxury. Food was wonderful. Our waiters Zainal and Sivakumar were such gentlemen. They were so polite and courteous toward us. Entertainment and activities. There were lots of entertainment going on around the ship. the heater shows were exceptional. The service was exceptional all around. on this cruise there were only 2 port of call which we took the shuttle bus into the town area. I find the excursions price very expensive. I would most definitely do this again. my only disappointment was that shops on board was very poorly stocked. I could no find a bathing suit to buy on board and I so to have wanted to have a sauna. Not too big, not too small. Service was great as it always is with R.C. The entertainment ran from excellent to downright awful. The main shows were quite good but the trio at Boleros, Teddy something, was shameful. If you don't know the words or cannot carry a note, don't sing the song. Their instrumentals were very good, only to be ruined by the singing. You could hear an audible groan from the crowd. That aside, this is a great ship with a great crew and we will be booking again soon. Inside cabin was larger than some we have been on. The ship had many different activities for all ages including a rock wall, ice skating, putt putt golf, flow rider and basketball as well as the largest fitness center we have seen so far. Food and service was what you expect on Royal Caribbean, excellent. We have already booked for next year. Read Less

Chose this cruise as it was from Southampton (no flying) and 6 nights just about as long as I can leave my elderly mum. 1st time on Navigator, shes a large ship, not the newest but immaculate, beautiful and feels very grand. Loved the fact you can walk around the entire ship on deck 4, and even get right to the front to do a "titanic" pose! From the moment me and the missus boarded we had a ball. Plenty of lively bars, and a late night club on deck 14 that rocked until 5am every night! So many fun things to do during the day, lots of entertainment by the pool decks etc We particularly enjoyed the casino, which was very busy even at 3am. The staff were really fun. The food was great, we mainly ate in the buffet it was that tasty. I would recommend the drinks package as its nice to try a load of different cocktails, and its nice to not sign for anything lol Overall Ive done 5 cruises, and this was my Fav ship and Fav staff. 10/10 Read Less

Been on Royal Carribean twice before and really enjoyed the experience but on this one there were a number of things that have been removed . Nothing for gold members of crown and anchor pointless being in it , no midnight buffet , drinks way to expensive, photographers for ever trying to take your photo, check in and baggage sorting quite frankly a shambles. Ship is looking a little tired in places. If Royal Carribean went back to offering what they used to then I would not hesitate to book again. It just felt this time that every member of staff was pushing to make us spend as much as possible and putting 27 dollars per day on to your room account is also to excessive for tips. On a positive note the staff we lovely, very helpful and always smiling and the ports of call were very good with St Petersburg being fantastic we should have stayed there two nights so much to see and missed out Copehagen which was a little boring. I booked 2 rooms one for us and another couple friend. This was their 1st time on a cruise so they loved it however it was our 5th but 1st time with Royal C. I found ship very small compare to others and very crowded on a sea day. Always struggling to find space to sit near the bar area when there is nothing else going on. Also hard work finding seats up in the Windjammer at anytime. Food in the dinning hall was very poor quality and tasteless though the head person who was looking after our table was trying his best but the chef's compare to WindJammers were not good with our requests and 3 of us were vegetarians. Finally we decided to just eat in Windjammer. Also they closed at 9pm which was too early as lots of people use to get there after the 1 show and people who want to see the 2 show were also trying to eat there as it would close before the 2nd show finished. Some waiters were friendly and others not, as they struggled with speaking English. Our room was on the 9th floor 9660 which was right opposite the stairs for service and so bringing luggage or taking luggage or any other time we use to hear lots of noises at odd hours. Entertainment was good but then other cruise liners were also good. We had all inclusive drinks package so that was good but even then from 4th day they did not have mint or sometimes lemon or certain beers and asked us to go to another bar which kept our choice. Oh and on the 10th day we found out from another passenger that we could order special request food at Windjammer which was really nice but this should have been told by the dinning hall people from the 1st day when they knew 3 out of 4 in our party were vegetarian. Immigration for St Petersburg was very long and took forever. We left our ship at 11.30 since we were queuing from 8.30am !! But it was worth it and our guide was very good English speaking and recovered the lost time and finished late. I would go on this cruise again only if there is a very good deal otherwise if I had to pay the same money then I would go on other cruise liner. Read Less

Overall the ship was clean, the cruise director called Cuddy was amusing although rarely seen during the day. The activities were enjoyable. We did mostly on our thing at ports of call. We did a SPB tour in Russia, I highly recommend them, groups are smaller and the price is much less the RCI. We heard from many passengers that they were disappointed with the RCI tours, overpriced and the tours were to large. At certain ports of call the RCI staff were useless, no help what so ever... when you do your own thing in each port of call. I have found over time the service has gone done, no chocolates on pillows at night, not even a writing pad or pen in rooms. The major disappointment was the food, it lacked taste and the desserts reminded me of desserts bought at Costco. The Windjammer was horrible. Same menu each lunch and dinner. The hamburgers were horrible. Eggs in the morning were soaked in water. I found in the past we had 3 people serving our dinner table, one head waiter, one assistant who took care of drinks as well. In the past there was a third person to take care of drinks. The waiters in the main dining room were awesome, great service. The spa massage treatments were mediocre for the exuberant prices. The seminars in the spa…were basically to up sell products…..too pushy, same with the restos on the ship…always trying to sell. The ship was clean, staff were friendly. I highly recommend taking beverage package, drinks are seriously overprices...and stay away from spa. Read Less

Hmmm, if I had to do it again.. Not so sure I'd opt for RCC. I'd probably go with a higher class ship. There were some good aspects about our cruise but these were largely generated by our own doing. We like to walk, we walk miles everyday and I suppose you could do this on most any ship! Here is a list of what was NOT great: High volume food; but LOW quality Not a 'grand' ship, i.e. MSC Musica far better tho the ratings not great. Don't bother with the ships internet, get your own hotspot. 80% time it failed. I brought my sky roam hotspot along with the trip and it worked like a charm. Only problem is that I had to rely on the ships internet when out at sea and most times it failed. I could get it loaded, kind of, but wouldn't even open an email. Ship refused to reimburse me for this crap service. Even tho they were suppose to have the faster service. The VERY worst was disembarkation in Southampton Here is where they totally failed. If a health and safety officer had been on board, I'm pretty sure this cruise would have been seriously sanctioned on this process alone. We were stuck with hundreds of other poor folks in a holding area whilst we waited to self disembark. There was absolutely NO accommodation for the poor handicap guests who ran over the toes, got into fights with those queuing up to exit, etc. No one, including the staff could control the crowds opting to take there luggage and get off the ship. People were videoing the process and spreading the word to upload to Youtube for the record of the misery created by RCC poor planning and inadequate communication. Elevators jammed and many with disabilities were completely abandoned. It truly was a potential disaster. The good: Ship was relatively clean Whilst food was not great quality, I like that dining was flexible Room attendant friendly and efficient. ** The dining staff literally hounded us for our feedback, trying to convince us of quality. To be fair, they tried really hard but I felt so sad for them; that their jobs seem to depend on customers being pleased. How can they please anyone with bad food? It was clearly a reflection on RCC policies and that really turned me off -- that these poor people had to cater to dissatisfied guests by 'convincing' them things were alright. Weather impacted our cruise, we missed Brussels altogether - no reimbursement for this. Poor communication from staff regarding how we might plan accordingly. Everyone told a different story. At the end of the day, I refused to pay the customary tipping fee and simply gave my room attendant cash tip. Wasn't horrible cruise, wasn't great either. Read Less

We were to arrival 36 hrs before depature and between weather and delayed flights, got on the ship 5 mins before departure. I would recommend where ever you are going, get a locale number for cruise company and get the port authoritys number because they are the only reason we were able to get on board the ship.the ship was nice and it was nice to be with adults rather than with 20 somethingson our lines. The dining was good for the most part, you have to ask in avance for shrimp cocktail for dinner. The food at dinner was not always done as requested but once sent back came out decent.
