The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Navigator of the Seas

The ship was very pretty, had most of what we like in elegant decor to delight our senses and keep us dazzled. The food, too, was very good, possibly the best we have experienced in a wealth of cruises we have taken with a variety of cruise lines. We had an inside cabin off the Royal Promenade, which meant we had a window that looked down at the shoppers. The room, itself, was very nice, with a ...

Smelly rooms

My husband and I love Royal Caribbean, but we will never sail on this ship again. Despite the million plus overhaul they completed on the ship the rooms were not updated very well. The over-sized balcony stateroom (9362) smelled terrible like moth balls. The hallway near the room smelled like mold. It was very disgusting and disappointing. I was expecting a nice clean experience with the ...

Royal Carribean Csino Royale vs NCL Casino at Seas

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Navigator of the Seas

We are avid cruisers and have probably been on 35-40 cruises. We have never paid for a cruise up front (paid in the Casino). We started with offers from land-based casinos and now deal with the cruise lines directly. I primarily play $1 video poker and some slots. This review compares the NCL Casino at Seas program to the Royal Caribbean Casino Royale based on our experience. ODDS : The odds ...

Cruise would have been wonderful if not for the extremely noisy Promenade room

We chose this cruise because of the really great itinerary. We stopped at Haiti, Bonaire, Curacoa and Aruba with 4 sailing days. We were in port at Labadee (Haiti) until 5pm, at Aruba until 6pm, at Bonaire until 8pm and stayed in Curacoa until 11pm so we really had a chance to explore and enjoy the Islands. The food on the ship was wonderful and the staff, without exception, was cheerful, ...

Go to better, cleaner Caribbean islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao) As a Diamond + traveler and using Jr. Suites, we had access to the Diamond and Concierge Lounges. How they screwed all diamond plus travelers by eliminating the concierge lounge and dumping all diamond+ travelers to the diamond lounge, small, no view, overcrowded, dark, etc Next cruise we will shop around with other cruise ...

Toxic chemical smell in stateroom

Took my 83 year old father on a cruise. We flew into Miami, stayed at Cambria Blue Lagoon (very nice) and took a $10 pp shuttle to the port. We opted for The KEY which gave us a lot of nice perks (internet, choice seating, free lunch at chops grill day 1, etc. Got dad a balcony room (8582), and myself a Promenade Interior (8583) directly across from his. My father loved his cabin ... the ...

I wanted to try out the newly renovated ship. $113 M spent, looks like mostly for new water slides and pool decor. Air conditioning was not up to par, even crew was complaining about the heat. Several elevators not working for most of the cruise. Seats broken in the theater and ice rink. Bathrooms near Windjammer not working at first. Holes in tile wall. Due to unrest in Venezuela, ship was ...

We are back from our five-day cruise and already planning another one during Spring Break in March, 2019. We like cruising. I am not sure if we like Royal Caribbean, though. Our Navigator of the Seas cruise had ups and downs. The 3,800-passenger capacity super-ship had the largest cabin room (200-sq. foot room, 65-sq. foot balcony) that Denise and I have ever experienced. It even had a large ...

Before giving my negative experiences, I want to say if you can't have fun on a cruise there is something wrong with you. We are platinum on Norwegian, but we were wanting to be diamond on Royal , so we booked this nine day cruise. We arrived at the port at 10:00, hoping to board by 11:30. Our status gives us Prority boarding. The boarding was horrible!! It was like herding cattle. The ...
