We chose this cruise because it went to Aruba. We had to re route due to bad weather (I know that’s no ones fault). But then they take us to Nassau (the worst port in the carribean). So multiple passengers were upset with that choice. On to the food... the main dining room was a disaster. The food was terrible. Not only was the food terrible, they rarely changed the menu throughout the 9 days. We stopped going and went upstairs to the windjammer. The service in the dining room was just okay. They didn’t refill our water, never asked us if we wanted to order a different drink, didn’t clean off our table, and acted annoyed with us more than once. We also had a celebration planned and we told them about it and they completely ignored us. The service in the windjammer was wonderful. We expressed how we had been treated in the dining room and they even brought us cake and champagne glasses so we could celebrate. The head waiter went out of his way to speak to us every night to make sure we enjoyed our dinner. We were very pleased with the windjammer staff and food. The entertainment on this boat is boring. They have some contracted comedy shows that are okay. But the rest is awful. Their shows don’t have any meaning, it’s a bunch of random songs out together and called a show. The daily activities were okay. The passengers were mostly 50+ so the game shows weren’t very exciting. They didn’t have many activities on the days at sea, they saved all the good ones for when everyone was tired on port days. Which made no sense. Overall my family and I were not impressed with this boat. We have been on several cruises and this has been our worst experience. Don’t set your heart on your destinations because they could change them at the drop of a hat! Read Less

I've only been cruising for a few years, and I'm rather young compared to I think the average age here, but Royal Caribbean has provided a very consistent experience onboard Navigator and their other ships. Service has been excellent, and while I cannot recall a specific moment of outstanding work, I was never once disappointed with a staff member on board. The facilities on the ship were well maintained. I do miss a proper running track (Navigator's takes a weird bend on it that makes it ill suited for actually running laps) and the Gym was predictably clogged at peak hours. Still, everything was clean and orderly and I think the fixtures in my stateroom were probably the best they've ever looked without a chip or dent in sight. Dining was predictable. Main Dining room service was on point, and damn, do those pumpkin seed buns taste good. Server was courteous and professional which is all I ask for. Windjammer was a zoo at times, but so long as you know what to expect, it serves it's purpose well. We did an upgraded dining experience at Sabor that was, well, upgraded, offering interesting and unique meals. I do not know if there was enough variety to justify going back however. Portion sizes were a little large, but I hardly think that's something to complain about. One thing I'd like to bring up, is that there has to be a better way to seat small couples for main room dining. Three different couples we talked to had a nearly identical experience at being seated at a 8 or 10 person table filled with a large family and them being the odd ones out. I'd really rather prefer to be seated with several other groups roughly our size. C'est la vie. The shows and entertainment were the highlight I think. Without fail every one was well produced and some of the talent on-board (especially the ice show) was incredibly impressive. The Bands produced music for all tastes (although there was an unpleasant amount of country music for my liking). They were all highly professional, with few exceptions. I found a few good shore excursions that matched my tastes and they were fun and exciting. Biking around Bonaire was the highlight for me. As expected, the beaches were pristine. We got very good value for our money on this nine day cruise. For what we paid (roughly $2,000 per person all told), I did not expect nor could have asked for a more pleasant experience. Overall, I have to say, there wasn't anything that absolutely wow'd me onboard Navigator. What I got was a consistently great experience with few worries or concerns. It was perfect for a relaxing vacation. Read Less

I have tried a couple other cruises, but NO ONE comes close to the people that work for Royal Caribbean.. The ships are very well maintained, The foods is over the top, and the choices are never ending, I enjoy just being on the ship because of all the actives that are offered, if you like shows there is something for everyone, comedy game shows and more. The shore excursions are great and not a bad price, if you are on a budget there are still things to see and do on and off the ship, if you have children there is a game room for them when you are at sea and the crew will interact with the children as well, We have cruised with family and friends aging from teens to 75 year olds and everyone had something to do at all times. If you are traveling alone it is a great place to meet new people and make new friends, since we really started cruising 10 years ago we have met the GREATEST people and have made some life long friends that we still travel with and keep in contact with.. Happy Cruising and I hope we run into you on our next cruise.. Read Less

We choose this cruise to visit the ABC islands in the Southern Caribbean. Also we selected the 9 day sailing. Our home is in Charlotte NC so for previous cruises, we drove to south Florida for a 7 day cruise, I have to take of 6 work days. This time we flew for a 9 day cruise and still only needed 9 days of from work. We were able to fly direct non stop on the same day the cruise departed and returned. We arrived at the Port of Miami about 2:10PM and had zero time waiting. We were next up at security, next up at RCI check in and walked right on board. This was a fantastic beginning. Previous embarkation experiences were very good, but it could not have been any better this time. I did have difficulty using UBER for the first time and failed from Miami airport to Port of Miami. Probably I was the reason for the failure. Anyway we selected LYFT and it worked flawlessly. We had a mid afternoon flight out of Miami Int'l airport. We choose to disembark later to let the crowd clear out some. We did not self carry our luggage off. It was nice to get on the elevators and not have to be bothered with dragging the luggage along. We did have one problem at the luggage terminal. RCI process was for us to go to the second carousel to get our luggage based on their tag/location assignment. Our luggage never came to the second carousel. We heard others had collected their luggage at the third carousel (not as directed), We found our luggage circling around the third carousel (not as directed). This was a bit troubling, but we had plenty of time, so it did not impact our schedule with the airline. The balcony cabin 7376 had plenty of storage in the closet with lots of hangers. There was plenty of drawers and cabinets and shelves for all our belongings. If I chose a different cabin it would have been just a little more forward toward the rear elevators for better convenience. Dining - My wife and I chose main dining room second seating 8:00 PM at a table for two. We ate there 8 out of nine nights, the other night was in Windjammer. This suited our desire very well. We did not feel rushed to get to dinner. We like hanging out on deck by the pool as long as possible, and love to take in the sunsets. You have to forfeit these if you eat at 5:30 or 6:00 We ate breakfast 8 out of 9 mornings in the Windjammer. The other morning we ate in the main dining room. The server told us about the great salad bar in the main dining room on days at sea between 11:30 and 1:00 We loved it an recommend it. They also have a limited hot bar and deserts and a menu to order from if your interested. IMPORTANT go by 12:00 it gets busy. (because it is so good) Entertainment - We went to see a very good comedian one night. Another night we listed to a phenomenal ship band. We give them 5 stars. Another night we had a treat to see a juggler that went the farthest on AGT. His performance was outstanding! These 3 alone were superior. We were too busy to get to the ice dancing shows shown 4 times. We saw other ice dancing shows on the Oasis and Harmony and found them to be world class- and amazing. We hate we missed it this time and heard from other cruisers how good they were. We really recommend this even though we missed it this time. All the crew made you feel their goal was to provide you with an outstanding vacation experience. They succeeded their goal with us. Ports and shot excursions. Curacao - just off the pier were little souvenirs to buy, then a tent for "taxis" We love the beach so we got a ride to Kokomo Beach for $10 each person each way. The beach was beautiful the water very clear. They have a large covered deck with drinks and a separate building for bathrooms. We used beach lounge chairs at no charge. Not sure if this was the norm but no one asked us for money. The beach had a lot of rocks to watch out for. They had a pier with steps into the water, which provided a way in the water and miss some of the rocks. Some people snorkeled there. My opinion is there is nothing at this beach fo bother with snorkeling. Bonaire- We went on a sailboat snorkeling trip booked with Compass directly thru their website. The have various trips to offer depending on your time at this island. They were busy with 3 boats going out that morning. We had about 11 passengers which I like that is does not get too crowded. Suggestion to all -- book snorkeling trips early for Bonaire. The highly rated Woodwind trip was sold out 10 months before we arrived. We were very satisfied with Compass. Very personable crew and captain. Aruba- we took a taxi $5.00 per person each way to Eagle beach. Rated among the 50 best beaches in the world. It was about 15 minute ride. It was the most beautiful beach I have seen. There are lounge chairs to rent for $10 each. They will place them in the shade of trees for you. The entree to the ocean was easy. I rented a jet ski for the first time. I paid $50 for 30 minuets. This was plenty enough time. Lots of fun. Across the street was a lunch restaurant. Then along the street came an ice cream truck that also sold frozen drinks at a good price. Great trip if your time and budget fits. I would go again on my next cruise without any hesitation. Had a great cruise, we flew in fromCincinnati day of cruise with a obligatory stop in Atlanta without issues. Embarkation was fast and easy, was eating lunch at Windjammer by 12:00. I have read lots of bad reviews about selection and quality of food. We found the food to be very good throughout the nine day voyage with relly good selection. Our room the large panaramic view was best stateroom we ever had, yes better than a balcony. The extra space and awesome view was well worth the price. We bought the ultimate dining package on Black Friday for 30% off so we ate at chops 4 times and Giovanis 3 times and Isumi (sp) All food and service was excellent. We do this again well worth the money, we found the MDR on past cruises to have very slow service and bland food. The dining package also included lunch so on sea days so we ate at Sabors and Johnny rockets again great food and great service. The entertainment was also very good, the singers never missed a note they are some of the best singers at sea. The ice show was very good and so was the top tier show with the skaters The headliners were very good. there was a juggler from AGT who was very good, sorry I dont remember his name. There was an Illussionist (sp) people seemed to enjoy it, me not so much. The Diamond Lounge was very nice especially when they opened up the Cosmo club for the overflow. The first night they had football there. Curucoa WE did the feed the sharks and turtles trough royal caribbean it was at times unorganized but very exciting being so close to sharks. I t also had a dolphin show that had tricks you would see at Sea World. Aruba We did the Jolly Roger Pirates on our own. Great trip took a10.00 taxi ride to dock checked in had great time. The snorkeling was great saw lots of fish and a shipwreck.WE also did the rope swing and lots of pina colodas. Bonaire WE did the snorkel excurionsion to Coco beach booked through RC Was not a great trip we took a bus to the beach got snorkeling equipment and our chair. To get to snorkle you had tocross over slippery rocks, not fun. There wasnt much to see, water was kinda of choppy. Labbaddee WE rented a jet ski lots of fun. Overall great cruise only bad time was the Bonaire excursion. We did self disembarkment without issue. Read Less

Our trip on this ship was excellent. We loved the people, the food, and the cleanliness. The Navigator to the Sea is a very beautiful ship. Everything was easy and convenient. Our table was 347 with Omar and Sergei, I can't begin to tell how nice, kind and considerate both of them are. Both have very sweet spirits about them, we did appreciate them. Kenneth Marriott was our room attendant in cabin #3722. He did everything he could to make us comfortable, he asked everyday if we needed anything and was prepared to help us. My husband was in a wheelchair and he always asked if I needed help, others on the ship did also. We loved the window in our room, I wasn't at all claustrophobic. We loved laying on the bed and watching the waves, and happy to see islands that we passed. The entertainment was so, so great. It was clean, not dirty talk. The ice dancers, the comedians, the music, singers and all. Everywhere we sat was clean and comfortable. Thank you to all of you that made this trip beautiful. Sandy and Noel Read Less

This was our first cruise. We just LOVED IT! We are both in the late 20s, and were afraid that we were alone in the age, but it was very nice blend and we became familiar with lots of people. When we first got into the boat, we were greeted with a glass of proseco. We had obviously ordered a drink package in advance and did not regret 1 second. We cost us a lot, very nice boat and always something to do. Super service. In the ala cart resturant there was always good food and service, we used to have dinner there, and breakfast and lunch at the buffet. Really recommend this boat to people, and of course RCL. We have actually booked 2 new cruises, and are very excited! The only negative thing I can find is that there was no exceptionally good nightclub, they changed one of the places to the night club after a certain time. But there was too much light from both lamps and windows. Would recommend this boat, cruise line and the trip to my best friends. Read Less

Traveled with my family of 6 and extended family of 20 for our 3rd cruise as a group. Food was sub par, not good at all. Many times served cold and most times was not good. Charging for room service delivery is a disappointment. Coffee or something small on balcony was something I looked forward to. Entertainment was high school level at Best. Service was not as good as years past. RC has def cut back. Would NOT recommend this ship, but more importantly would not recommend Royal Caribbean to anyone. I would consider RC the Walmart of cruise lines. Carnival and Norwegian are with out question much better food, entertainment and value. Traveled with large group, waiter seemed inconvenienenced to get things, entertainment director is very low on talent and the shows and choice of shows was not good. Can’t say enough how disappointed I am, poor management has ruined this cruise line! Read Less

We chose this cruise to the Caribbean for the dates. The process of getting aboard was worse than the security lines at the airport. it took so long they had to offer wheelchairs to various older adults in the queues! We queued for nearly 90 minutes and then it took another 20ish minutes to get sorted before we could board. The entertainment was certainly hit and miss. The ice skating shows were great but the main entertainment in the evening theatre were VERY variable. The three twenty somethings were not impressed with the entertainment or activities. Nothing really hit the mark for them during the whole 9 days. On the other hand our teenager loved the teenage group and loved meeting lots of different people. He had a blast! The ports were quite similar but not sure what we expected from a Caribbean island! Activities were VERY expensive for instance at Labadee in Haiti the zip wire was $110 per person!! Read Less

We never had been on a Christmas cruise before and had never travelled to the Southern Caribbean; therefore, Curaçao, Bonaire, and Aruba and Labadee, Haiti were intriguing choices. We live in Miami, so it was an easy journey to and from the terminal. Our interior room with a virtual balcony was fine! We could see the ports of call and the ocean. It was a nice touch! Were were on Deck 9 mid-ship and port side which was quiet and centrally located. The cabin’s vanity and storage areas were large, plus we had a safe and a small refrigerator and a flat screen tv which pulled out of the wall. The bathroom was small and clean and the shower had plenty of hot water. The shower stall has circular, rotating doors instead of a yucky shower curtain that sticks to your backside! The bed was reasonably comfortable, plus the AC control worked well. Cuddy, the Cruise Director was perfect for the job! He was approachable and enthusiastic! We were singing Christmas Carols on the Royal Promenade on Christmas Eve. They even handed out cookies and songbooks while we sang with the professionals. It was a joyful experience! The ship’s band was superb and played in various acts and ship activities. It was a pleasure listening to them! Horizon, a Motown act, and Jack London, a Las Vegas entertainer gave quality performances. I also recommend the ice show. The costumes and choreography were mesmerizing! Speaking of costumes and choreography, the Royal Caribbean performers rivaled some Broadway shows in terms of talent, theater sets, costumes, and technical aspects. We didn’t miss one of their shows. There were comedians as well, but we couldn’t see them all. The Windjammer’s food was exceptional! There was expensive oxtail stew along with steak and goat and lamb curries and stews. There was also Indian and American fare. The salads and fruits and vegetables were pleasing as well. There were even large shrimp and paella-like dishes throughout the cruise. On Day 8 there was a large variety of torts and cakes to sample which were artistically presented. The gingerbread display added holiday cheer as well as the 2 greeters who were delightful! “Washy Washy Your Hands!” The Sapphire dining room boasted lobster and leg of lamb and many other treats. The service was excellent and consistent in both eateries. We didn’t eat at the upcharge restaurants. We participated in a champagne tasting which was reasonable and educational and fun! There are plenty of ship activities to choose from including wine tasting, salsa dancing, going to the gym, swimming, big screen pool movies, and shopping lectures. You can even ice skate or rock climb! Simply reading or ocean watching or sipping and napping were great in the adults only Solarium. I highly recommend the Captain’s Bridge Tour and the Bottomless Brunch Tour! Labadee was an exquisite resort. We rented a beach cabana for 2 and rode the Dragon’s Breath Alpine Coaster. Aruba was our favorite island due to its architecture and range of activities and natural beauty, but Bonaire and Curaçao had their charm as well. We took the Royal Caribbean tours which were of high quality and comfortable. Royal Caribbbean consistently delivers a high quality vacation to cruisers of all walks of life. The crew and passengers we met were positive, and yes, we’d go back again in a heartbeat! Here’s to more adventures in 2018! Read Less

My wife surprised my daughter and I with this Christmas cruise a few days before Christmas. We travel a lot and have done at least a few cruises together, mostly on Norwegian (which we loved), but this was our first try with RCL. We aren't the type to spend much time on deck in the sun (especially around the loud music), so we probably aren't your average cruisers and you should take the remainder of this review in that context. Dining: For dining, we prefer to dine in the upscale themed restaurants and the Navigator of the Seas had several options to choose from. We dined at all of them except Chef's Table as the 3+ hour dinner was too much for our five year old to handle. Service in the themed restaurants was excellent. Our favorite was Izumi (the Sushi restaurant). We spent a lot of time chatting with our all of the staff there and received excellent service from our alternating servers Ashwin and Virgilio. Along with Izumi's awesome manager, Messaoud Haykel, our dining experiences could not have been better. The whole team worked exceedingly hard to meet or exceed all of our requests. The team did things like getting our daughter whatever she wanted for dinner from anywhere else on the ship, getting my wife her favorite liquid center chocolate cake from Chops, and me glasses of port that came from another bar on the ship. That said, we went through much of the menu at Izumi and loved it. It was much better than any sushi restaurant we can find in our home town of Charlotte, NC. (I'm getting hungry just writing about it.) We really enjoyed the other restaurants that we dined at as well. Chops is the second most expensive restaurant on the ship (Chef's Table is the most expensive) and the quality of the food, dining room and service reflect that. Muameer and Manolo at Chops were a pleasure to speak with as well as the rest of the staff. Its well worth the splurge, in our opinion. We also ate at Sabor, the Mexican themed restaurant. It was quite good Mexican food with good service in a pretty dining room, but not anything over-the-top. We had one dinner at Giovanni's Table, their Italian themed restaurant. Although the service was excellent and the dining room was lovely, the food was hit and miss in our opinion. The meat mains were OK, the appetizers were things I do better at home, but the pasta was excellent. Perhaps we just made poor choices. I took my daughter to Johnny Rockets for lunch while my wife was enjoying a reasonably priced massage package and it was a very enjoyable experience. We visited almost all the bars on board for a glass of wine or champagne while on board and found them all lovely places to sit and relax. Service was friendly and their decor was great. Finally Saphire, the main dining room. We did not experience the main dining room for dinner although we did visit briefly for dessert (arranged at our request by our guardian and new friend (Haykel from Izumi). Dessert was great, but we got to see what it was like in full rush hour at about 7PM. Servers were working fast and hard and it appeared to be a very different experience as compared with the specialty dining locations. We did eat breakfast and lunch almost every day in the main dining room however and at first weren't receiving great service. Asking for almond milk cappuccinos (three times emphasizing the almond milk part) got us regular cappuccinos instead. It turns out that some things we were asking for took additional work or needed to be serviced elsewhere on the ship, so some servers weren't making the extra effort. In addition, the service could be quite slow even though we were were in the first wave of patrons. We frequently couldn't sit by ourselves near windows because all of the tables near windows were shared large tables. We couldn't get servers to get fruit juice for our daughter that comes from the bars (pineapple) from most of the servers. Hamburgers at lunch were served without ketchup and mustard. Asking for ketchup from a server would result in him returning with a squirt bottle that he dolled onto your plate. (We thought this was odd compared to providing us with a little container.) Seating for lunch on day 2 (a day when there was a time zone change) was limited to 1.5 hours forcing many to go to the buffet. Anyway, we had a long chat with kind manager, Somchai, who went out of his way to look out for us the rest of our breakfast/lunches and things much improved. Service improved exponentially when we discovered Sergei and Radmir, a dynamic duo. We specifically asked for them the rest of our breakfast/lunch trips to Saphire and had truly excellent service from them. Cabin: Our cabin was a stateroom with balcony at the front of the port side. This allows you to look forward through a window which the other balcony cabins don't have. There are about 8 of these cabins and they don't cost more than other balconies, so look out for them. Our cabin steward, Leonard, was great. We couldn't have asked for better service and wished we could bring him home with us. Our cabin was clean, well laid out and comfortable but not as nice as the suites on Norwegian (probably an unfair comparison). We spent many evenings on the balcony after our daughter went to sleep and thoroughly enjoyed the view of the dark sea, sipping wine. Shipboard Activities: Outside of my daughter's daily hour visit to the hot-tub, we didn't spend too much time on outside while on the ship. We did rock climbing a couple times which was really enjoyable, my daughter enjoyed the kids club a few times and we enjoyed watching people surf / body-board at the flow-rider. We also went ice skating a couple times which my daughter truly loved. We saw at least a few of the shows and were impressed. Ports and Shore Excursions: We did a couple non-ship related activities at the ports that my wife had arranged in advance. They were generally much cheaper than the ship sponsored activities. A warning to Christmas travelers though, very few people are working on December 26th, so taxis, for example, are almost impossible to find. We enjoyed our ports for the most part though. Aruba and Bonaire especially. The locals were friendly and the islands clean. There was good shopping at all four countries we visitied (Labadee in Haiti and Curacao being the other two). In conclusion, we were as happy with this cruise as our experiences with Norwegian, which is great. We would happily cruise with RCL. As with any ship, we just had to find the right people and processes to get exactly what we wanted, when we wanted it. Once we found these 'on-board angels', we had a fantastic time. One final note. We did notice that the ship's crew were working 7 day weeks though. As I recall from Norwegian, the people had one day off a week and seemed happier / more refreshed overall. I can't imagine anyone being at the top of their game working 7 days a week for a contract of 6 months or so. This despite their workloads apparently being cut back significantly from a year or so prior, so it must have been really tough on the crew previously. Anyway, thanks to any of the crew on the Navigator of the Seas who may see this review. We will have happy memories of this trip and hope to join you for a future cruise. Read Less

It was my second time to the ABC islands and propably I will go back again. I love to cruise when it is winter in Western Europe and for that time the cruises in the caribbean are the best for having good weather. I only went 3 times to the main dinner because I love to eat in the speciality-restaurants. Especially Izumi is very good and I can recommend the sushi-class to everybody. I do think that the therapies in the Spa are for to expensive. I payed 460 dollars for a 90 minutes couples massage. it was my 13th cruise with Royal Caribbean and the pleasant thing is that I always meet bartenders that I had on a previous cruise. Read Less

Navigator of the Sea or Carnival/Southern Caribbean 9 day cruise I have traveled 4 times with Carnival and once on Royal Caribbean. My husband and I are in our early 60’s and work full time. We like to cruise a couple times a year and pick cruises from 8- 10 days in length. We chose this RC trip due to the dates and itinerary. We don’t drink but do buy the Wi-Fi package. The following are my observations: PROS for Navigator of the Sea, Royal Caribbean: Fast loading on the ship, virtually no lines. Better and healthier food selection from the buffet (Windjammer) better than Carnival’s buffet. Quiet at night after 9:30pm (not much to do – possibly a pro or a con). We took a Lyft and it was fast and cheap from FLL to Port of Miami. Wi-Fi was good but slower at busy times. CONS for Navigator of the Sea, Royal Caribbean: They over sold the early dining and any-time dining by about 200 people! Cruisers had confirmation for early or any-time dining but were told after going on the ship they would be eating at 8:30pm. Perhaps a deal breaker if they were told earlier. Not a professional way to conduct business. RC over packed the early dining so all but 90 cruisers were able to eat at their desired time. The waiters were run to death and even upper management tried to help out during the early dining – mass confusion! I truly felt upset for the waiters who were doing their best but with too many cruisers-not a good situation for the employees or cruisers. The food in the sit down dining room (Sapphire) on RC was NOT as good as the Carnival line. We experienced lack of flavor except for the fish dishes, which were very fishy. The texture for many dishes was mushy even the fried entrées. Carnival wins hands down for its formal dining room experience and quality of food in their formal dining area. The buffet on Carnival was not as good or healthy as RC ‘s buffet but I did love the other stations offered on the Carnival (Guys Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina etc. and they were free!). This is not an option on the RC. RC has additional areas to dine (with spending additional money) but I did not try these and did not notice any lines for these venues. Carnival has much better entertainment and more of it! So I think if you want to only eat at the buffet and go to bed early the RC is a great choice, but if you enjoy formal dining (and want to received the time selected) and want to enjoy the entertainment choose Carnival. I hope to cruise the Panama Canal next and will use Carnival or Princess. Carnival also had cute towel animals on your bed at night and this only happened a couple of times on RC. Not a problem for us but a nice touch. Age was a mix on Carnival and tended to be an older group on Royal Caribbean. There is a library and game/card room on RC but never had the time to find it on the Caribbean cruises I have been on. Read Less

SHORE EXCURSION: The best shore excursion on this cruise was the "Fun Beach Express, Sightseeing & Snorkel" tour in Curacao. Our guide was Melissa and her driver was Cedric. Melissa was so pleasant and had a wealth of knowledge. Saw a lot & the bus was open-air, so taking pictures/videos was a breeze (pun intended). One thing to note - before you cruise: check out the shore excursions online. About 10 weeks prior to our sailing date, Royal Caribbean started offering 10-30% off if you booked the excursion prior to your sail date. Well worth it! DINING: We did find that crew must've been told to "push" for the Specialty Dining Package. I'm assuming they get commission, since we were almost tackled about this on every corner of the ship. We finally gave in and purchased a 3-dinner Specialty Dining package. The experience in the Chops Grille was fantastic and well worth the extra $. The Filet Mignon is grilled to perfection and everything from the service to the side dishes is a perfect complement. Truly makes for a special evening, so I do recommend that you visit Chops at least once during this cruise. We also visited Giovanni's Table - which I cannot recommend after our experience (service was lackluster and came with an "attitude", main entrees came out cold, etc.). We did not visit Sol (Mexican Specialty) as the menu only includes appetizer style food & enchiladas - something I can get in Southern California and certainly won't pay extra for. Our friends visited Izumi (Japanese/Sushi Specialty Restaurant). They went back twice, raving about the quality of the food. Note: if you go to Izumi, you will order "a la carte". Cover charge is $35 and you can order whatever you like, but after reaching $35 value of foods ordered you will pay a la carte price extra for each item you order. ENTERTAINMENT: Headliner shows were great and excellent variety, from Comedy to Singing (e.g. Las Vegas Tenors). Production Shows featured predominantly 70s & 80s music. Our cruise featured a professional ballroom couple from Ukraine - they have won several awards and rightfully so - they are spectacular to watch. They also hosted 1/2 hour dance lessons for all to attend (no cost) during the cruise, which was great and we enjoyed every lesson! The Ice Show was also fantastic - a must see - I still can't believe how these professional ice skaters make it look so easy on this tiny ice skating rink inside the ship, even when the ship is moving. Pure talent at work! SPA: booked a 50-minute Swedish massage prior to sailing (special discount). Was "upsold" to hot stone massage ($20 more). Massage & service overall was good and pleasant (although I do prefer the massage therapist at my Chiropractors office for therapeutic purposes; the Spa massage on the ship was more of a "feel good" activity than truly therapeutic). Afterwards, be aware that they will try to sell you about $150 worth of extras (sponges, ointments, free acupuncture consultation). It's ok to say no, but you might start seeing some of the smiles fade.... ONBOARD: if you are looking for a quiet place to read a book, look for Deck 13 on the front of the ship. Hundreds of free chaise loungers and plenty of space. If you are looking for activities, be near to the pool area. Sports Deck offers lots of variety (FlowRider, MiniGolf, RockClimbing, Basketball, Table Tennis). Ice Skating Rink is also open during sea days (bring long pants if you want to try this out!). They do play major picture movies on the big screen by the pool area. During the day, fun "failarmy" videos are being played for general entertainment. CREW: very friendly, extremely helpful; cruise director staff was excellent and offered lots of fun activities during sea days; service in main dining room and Windjammer Buffet was excellent, as was the quality of the food itself. OVERALL: I would definitely recommend this cruise and would go again (but book a different cabin - see my comments under Cabin details below). I've been on about 12 cruises and although I've tried other cruise lines, keep coming back to Royal Caribbean due to value & quality. Navigator is a very clean ship & great size (140,000 ton, Voyager class). Read Less

We have done many cruises. This one was Exceptional. We were a group of 4 couples. Our cabins were all close by and on the same floor. We had a wonderful time. Overall, the ship was clean. Courtesy and respect were demonstrated by staff at all times. We all had an Ocean View Cabin which were just right for space, and very comfortable. The cleaning services were excellent. We will come back to our room and depict a well made up bed, and everything there in their right place. The food on the ship was exceptional, everything was tasty. There was a large spread of delicious cuisine in the Windjammer. Food was always fresh. Formal dining was also exceptional. Waiters, and maitre d were also exceptional. Entertainment was good also. We were all of Caribbean background, therefore loved the Caribbean band on board. We followed the Band where ever they were playing, and jumped up to their Caribbean music. We will definitely do another vacation cruise on this ship. We had no complaints. Read Less

We choose this cruise for Aruba port stop and the time of year, when most schools are open. We are trying to book cruises on RCI so we can accumulate points. We took a taxi from Miami airport we appreciated not having to go to a hotel for the night and unpack. Ship departed from Miami at 5pm giving us plenty of time for checking in. The onboard process was smoother and quicker than previous cruise which departing from Fort Lauderdale. More checkin stations and just walk in service at 11:30am. Windjammer opened at 12noon. We hung out in the pool area enjoying the music until 1pm when rooms were ready. NOS was decorated for the holidays and everyone was in a festive spirit. Only a few school age children onboard this 9day cruise and families with infants & toddlers. Ship was full and seniors were the majority. Ship was quiet and deserted after midnight. Shows were enjoyable, especially the late night adult comedy shows. We only did 1 of the 2 formal nights using the my time dining option. We went to the Windjammer for meals. We enjoyed the trivia games and hubby went to casino once. We did RCI sightseeing panoramic excursions at each port. We only layed out on the beach at Labadee. RCI provided a fantastic beach side lunch on their island port of Labadee. Most relaxing cruise and great opportunity to meet people from all over the world. This was the first of two back-to-back cruises for us. Same ship and in same cabin, leaving Miami on 12/17 for 5day Western Carribean Cruise. Big difference in atmosphere from the first cruise. We chose this cruise because of the Ports of Call. Embarkation was a breeze and we only had about a fifteen minute wait until our cabin was ready. We always do self carry with our luggage, so it's nice when the room is ready straight away. Navigator is a decent sized ship, but this cruise had the most movement of any cruise we've been on. Dining experiences were great in both the main dining room and the Windjammer. We never eat at the specialty restaurants. Daytime entertainment/activities were poor. Very little going on around the pool in way of organized activities, live music, dancing, etc. They have a huge big screen TV that played Chive TV all day and a movie at night. Night time entertainment was mediocre. We saw a couple of good comedians, the ice skating show was pretty good, and battle of the sexes game was fun. Disembarkation processes for shore excursions and final disembarkation were very disorganized, but the excursions themselves were awesome! We'd love to stay loyal to RCL, but we may sail with a different line next time. This was our fifth cruise with RCL and we feel the service and attention on the smaller ships has decreased since the mega ships have started sailing. Read Less

We were in multiple rooms with the kids 8230 which was nice and a balcony ocean side. Was great our Stewart was great learned all the kids name. We had the kids in 8229 and 8231.Inside interior rooms they were about the size we expected. the entertainment from Royal we felt was "soso" everyone raves about royal entertainment but it was amateur to say the best The ice skating though was great, the outside groups they brought on the jersey boy guys were great!!. We felt that Dave Devine was ok cruise director didn't see him much on board... and the fun stuff like volleyball etc didn't pick up until Thursday almost 5 days into the cruise. The food and service was great they treated us great all the time getting drinks, cleaning etc... The windjammer was good also we did try CHOPS, and the Giovanni table. We liked CHOPS but on other cruise lines the chef comes out to great you, you feel special here I felt it was just a sit down dinner, The steak was good but no special appetizer missing that personal touch. The price is right and we would like to try Royal Caribbean due to the port that we visited. The ship is older and I think it needs a little update. Bonaire island is our favorite. We would love to go back there again God's willing. The staff are hardworking people. They need promotions and a day off at least! Dancing on the ice is unique and water surfing. Our first time to experience this and other cruise lines does not offer any of this. I am thankful that during the Easter Sunday that we are there we had a Catholic mass for spiritual people like us. I love the huge Easter cake with lots of Easter eggs for the guests and kids most especially. The shopping experience is wonderful. I like the cruise director. He is very talented and funny. I am not well pleased with the food's taste and presentation. The bread is good though. I love the staff with their smile serving the vacationers who needs a little pampering including myself. I like to focus on good things so overall it is a very good experience for us even with the little flaws. Read Less

I chose this cruise mainly for the Itinerary and the length of the cruise. The embarkation went very smooth on board within minutes of arriving at the port. The ship was very beautiful and well laid out lots to do and the entertainment great except for the opening night welcome aboard show that was very high school quality. The service on this ship was exceptional the best i have experienced and i have been on 5 previous cruises with 4 different cruise companies. I wish I could say the food on this ship was as good as everything else I experienced but I want to be honest and fair. The food wasn't good at all and at times was quite terrible but I did manage to find things to eat...On other cruises when eating a meal I often said to my wife this is delicious....I don't think I spoke those words once on this ship. I had Prime rib one night that was soooooo bad it was shocking. I remember thinking that all the nationalities of the world has food stations, Indian, asian etc etc....I found the flavours run into the typical American/Canadian food. weird tasting gravy etc. I'm going to stop on the food as I don't want anyone to think this was a disaster. Im just hoping someone who can make a difference is reading and fixes this problem. I spoke with many people on this ship who felt as I did. I will remember this ship with many fond memories. don't miss the parade in the Grand Lobby on deck 5...it is nothing short of spectacular. This ship is large and I'm sure anyone who sails her with find their own special spots. Ours was out in the roman adult pool area..it was simply gorgeous there. overal this cruise was awesome and i wish I could do it all over again. Getting off this ship was another story ....a very slow 2 and a half hours but I can over look that. Read Less

Chose this cruse because of the ports of call it went to. I had been on Navigator a few years ago, still an amazing beautiful ship, was my co-passengers first time on Navigator, they said this is the best ship they have ever been on, and I agree. Ship has plenty for children and adults; large nice adult only areas as well. It could however use later food options, as there is only one small place open at night for food, can get rather busy. Only other thing that needed improvement is the disembarkation, and embarkation. (not the ships fault) The staff inside the building before you get on the ship is super rude, and not helpful. If there were any issues on-board, as long as you let staff know about them, they were quick to take care of it and make it better the best they could Everything else is wonderful about this ship. A family member researched and planned the cruise for a family getaway. We arrived at the ship and were able to board. The process was very smooth and organized. . We were informed that lunch was being served in the Windjammer. The variety of food was excellent and it was prepared very well. We reviewed the Compass everyday to plan our activities and there was always several activities that we would attend. Service was excellent, however one family member was not receiving some of the perks that the others were receiving, towel animals. One call and the problem was corrected. We did several shore excursions. All of the excursions were enjoyed and very informative. One family member did book another cruise while onboard. We did notice that some items/furniture on the ship should be cleaned/dusted. The baseboard or ledge above the baseboard in the rooms, customer service desk and other areas of the ship were dusty. Also items that were hanging from the ceiling of the promenade were very dusty. This is a problem for individuals with allergies. Overall the cruise was very enjoyable. Thank you! Read Less

The only problem was dancing on carpet but we all managed. The entertainment was great. The photographers were great at capturing pictures every night. It was a great idea to be able to just buy a digital USB. I purchased the total package and took lots and lots of pictures during the cruise. Loved the piano play on the 4th floor. He drew a large crowd every night he was on. Music and dancing was everywhere. It was hard to get to everything. There was skating, rock climbing, wave rider, miniature golf, basketball, pink pong, a great walking, running track, and a fabulous gym. I didn't go to the Spa but it looked first class. The dining room was beautiful and the service was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. Now back to reality. Read Less

We chose this vacation to get away and enjoy the sun, participate in lots of activities as well as relax and have some down time. This cruise covered all our expectations and more. We spent 2 days in Miami prior to the ships departure touring Lincoln Blvd. and Ocean Dr. We also spent time around the pool at our beach front hotel and on the beautiful Miami beach itself. Embarkation went very smoothly, and the only issue with disembarkation we had was that we didn't want to go home. The Navigator of the Seas is considered a smaller ship, but it is still very large with 3500 guests and 1700 staff and it's a very pretty ship. The cabins are a good size and I would never cruise without a balcony, to me a balcony is a little quite place in all the excitement where you can just get away sit back and relax. It doesn't matter where you eat on the ship, the food is fantastic, it really just depends on what your mood is at the moment. The ships entertainment and activities are very good and accommodate everyone from small children to seniors. Finally, you will visit some of the most beautiful countries in the world no matter what Royal Caribbean ship you are on with staff who provide professional and outstanding service. We can't wait for our next adventure. Read Less
