Horrible food wasn't even up to basic sanders i had raw chicken served to me and uncooked fish i had informed my waiter and nothing was done from the raw food to the hard donuts i was so disappointed on this ship this dosent include the brown water that was coming out of my faucet . I was on the 12th floor when i brought it to there attention there responce was we take showers with black water and we are ok. Really grose i will never ever cruise on royal caribbean again. I almost forgot they would put random charges on your bill hoping for you not to catch it. That might work with spring breakers but not me . so beware spring breakers not worth a dollar so beware save your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read Less

Traveled with my family of 6 and extended family of 20 for our 3rd cruise as a group. Food was sub par, not good at all. Many times served cold and most times was not good. Charging for room service delivery is a disappointment. Coffee or something small on balcony was something I looked forward to. Entertainment was high school level at Best. Service was not as good as years past. RC has def cut back. Would NOT recommend this ship, but more importantly would not recommend Royal Caribbean to anyone. I would consider RC the Walmart of cruise lines. Carnival and Norwegian are with out question much better food, entertainment and value. Traveled with large group, waiter seemed inconvenienenced to get things, entertainment director is very low on talent and the shows and choice of shows was not good. Can’t say enough how disappointed I am, poor management has ruined this cruise line! Read Less

If you want to eat after 10 in the evening and want more then a roll or a burnt pizza. Entertainment was a joke the cruise director needs replacing. Example colouring by numbers as an afternoon entertainment. The cruise seemed to concentrate on people who were returning customers rather then new. Formal nights were a joke, you got dressed up to walk into the dining room for your evening meal which you had done the night before. no captain, no entertainment, nothing special at all. did not bother after the 1st one. If you Smoke you are normally allowed to smoke in casino. Not on this ship on formal days all day, weather was bad so could not go up on deck and had to use cigar room which had such poor extractors and stunk, In the casino ashtray was a floor standing one which staff emptied out the ashtrays from the slot machines into and never got emptied all day. Everyone i spoke to and me included had charges for services not used added to bills. AFter 8 days at sea managed to get 3 hours in Boston. Management of Immigration was a joke we should have been first a 6.30 with people on excursions ( instead approx 1500 in gue, emigration delayed .with people queuing for 3 or more hours, will not go on but all i will say is i saw people crying with boredom, This cruise turned into a prison sentence. so will i use again never twice crew members maimed to music on the bridge on the promenade and that was about as lively as it got. First of all, I previously cruised with Royal Caribbean "Allure of the Seas", and it was so exhilarating, I was looking forward to cruising with their Navigator of the Seas. Alas, I was completely disappointed in my experience with this ship. Here are some of the reasons: 1. When the ship docked, there was no one to direct passengers to the gangway. Yes, there were signs posted on the walls, but when a whole crowd of people are in the hallway, the signs can't be seen, and there is a lot of confusion about which way to go - right or left. Some passengers, were even saying that the exit was at the other end of the ship. This same confusion and scenario repeated itself at subsequent ports. It would have been so simple if there was a staff member at, or near the elevators directing people to the exit door leading to the gangway. 2. All the poultry and fish in the main dining room and the Windjammer were overcooked. The gravest, culinary sin was the "Filet Mignon" in the Windjammer, which was way overdone, chewy, and quite ghastly. A hockey puck would have tasted better. 3. The majority of food was also over-salted, yet the scrambled eggs, omelets, etc. had no salt and were quite tasteless. 4. To be fair, the tastiest food on the Navigator of the Seas was the Italian food. This is not my favourite type of food, but it was the tastiest on this ship. 5. For those passengers who do not particularly like gambling or drinking, there were not enough other activities to keep one interested and entertained on this ship. A lot of the activities were quite boring, and too many of them ended up being sales pitches, and "buy", "buy", "buy" events. 6. The shows were amateurish, almost laughable compared to those on the "Allure of the Seas" (for example). They were lacking professionalism, polish and finesse, and they reminded us passengers of high school concerts that just don't quite make the grade. 7. A few times, the Dance Fit classes were scheduled to be held pool side, but because of inclement weather, the activity moved inside to the Cosmopolitan Club, and no announcement was made, so those of us who arrived a minute or two later, had to ask the lifeguard where was the class, and if he did not know, he had us ask the Towel Rental guy about it. Lovely. Such poor communication and customer service for a cruise ship. This was aggravating and irritating to us passengers. 8. The Line Dance class was cancelled, and no announcement was made. Those of us who showed up for it at poolside then thought that it must have moved to the Cosmopolitan Club. So the group of us headed up to the Club. Nothing was happening there, and the personnel there knew nothing about any Line Dance class. Rushing down to Guest Services, we were then informed that the class was cancelled. When we asked why was the cancellation not announced, the answer was that "not too many people are interested in that class". A simple announcement saying that the "Line Dance class has been cancelled" would have been the courteous thing for Royal Caribbean to do for the few of us who wanted to do this activity. 9. Some of us tried to enjoy table tennis, but Deck 14 was so windy for so many days, that it was impossible to play. If this happens more often than not, why doesn't Royal Caribbean devise some sort of enclosure that blocks off the wind so that passengers can enjoy this activity? Thumbs down for this ship, its activities, its entertainment, and its food. Read Less

We like the food. Their provision for various diets was excellent. We are particularly interested in gluten free food and their provision was outstanding. There are a lot of various activities and theatre shows were outstanding. We did go on 2 excretions and they were both well organised and very good. We ate at the Windjammer all the time. Our daughter, husband and their 2 children also came on the same cruise and it was very nice to be together. We went to all the theatre shows which were a mixture of singing, dancing and comedy. They were all 1st class. We also watched the ice skating show which was excellent. The children went on different activities including rock climbing which they enjoyed. The stateroom attendant was very good and efficient. He used the towels to create miniature animals (monkey etc.) and leave in the room. The cabin was tidied up and cleaned twice a day. All in all it was probably the best holiday we had. Read Less

This was a spring break trip with my family. This was our 5th cruise but 1st with RCL. We flew into Miami on the day the cruise was leaving since we booked the flights with Royal Caribbean. We arrived just fine and were put on a bus and taken to the ship, no problems. The ship is very pretty and looks pretty well maintained except for some of the artwork around the ship. The shadow boxes seem to feature different types and styles of fashion. Many of the objects were covered in at least an inch of dust, dresses displayed behind the glass were falling apart and again covered in a ton of dust. If its something that is falling apart - it should be removed and replaced. We were happy about the hand sanitized stations all over the ship. Nobody in our group got sick so that was a good thing. We stayed in an inside cabin for the first and last time. I wanted to experience it since I am a travel agent, I did not want to suggest a type of room unless I had stayed in one. The room was smaller than my bathroom, it really was - we measured it when we came home. How they expect 4 people to stay in that room is crazy. The bathroom was very tiny and it was hard to turn around in the shower, you could sit on the toilet and wash your hands at the sink at the same time. They don't change the sheets in your room ever- there was a small red mark on my side of the sheets and it was always there. The floor in our room was only cleaned once after we brought sand in on our shoes from Cozumel. Shopping on the ship was bad, everything was cheaply made but expensive. The shopping on other ships we have been on was wonderful, this was just bad. Johnny Rockets was the only place that had warm food and good service. When we ate at the Windjammer Cafe (buffet) the selection was not very good, there was no service, the food was cold and it was hard to a seat. In the main dining room it took a long time to get our food, it was always cold unless it was ice cream and that was usually pretty well melted. We all had the soda package but we had to go to the bar and they took everyone who needed mixed drinks first so we waited a long time. Most of the entertainment was boring, we love going to the shows on the other ships we have been on. This ship only offered one show an evening and all except one was so boring (unless you are 70 years old) The first show was a ballroom dancing show so we thought it would be like Dancing with the Stars type of show but, it started with the song Moon River ... and just got worse. I was jealous of the people who were able to walk out, we were stuck in the middle of a row so we could not sneak out. Then we saw the ice skating show - it was nice but the one skater kept falling down. They had a Bon Jovi tribute band on another night and since we love Bon Jovi we enjoyed that show. We missed the show on the last night so I can't comment about that one. Overall the service on the ship was not friendly. The staff was super serious and not cheerful or outgoing. We had to flag down to get any help. I use a motorized scooter and it seemed to annoy the staff. We have sailed on 4 other Carnival Cruises and they were always helpful, friendly, outgoing and just so much better in every way. The only Wow we had was the Wow why didn't we sail on Carnival again. We love to snorkel on our cruises and were really excited to take a tour in the Bahamas but we were not in port long enough to take the tour we were really wanted to take. We took a tour with the cruise line, it was ok. We were only in the water about an our and it only stopped in one place. In Cozumel - we have been there 5 times in the past so we did our own excursion and spent the day at a resort, we had a nice day. On Carnival they have a long pier but they allow rickshaw drivers to pick you up and take you to the shopping area, you just give them a tip but, they don't have any on RCL so it makes it hard if you can't walk far distances. I traveled with my husband, 13 year old daughter and 11 year old son. They did not like this cruise either. It would be great if you just wanted to get on a ship, lay out in the sun and go to bed early. We will never go on this ship again. I already booked another cruise on RCL for Christmas but, I am going to see if that ship has better reviews or I am going to cancel it and go on NCL or Carnival. Being a travel agent, I would not suggest this ship for anyone under 70 years old. Read Less

Ok so where to start, so many things to say. First of all, we had to wait 4 1/2 hours in line in the heat just to get on the ship. We never went to a terminal. It was a tent that was even hotter inside to wait in more lines. After a couple hours they finally started passing out water while we waited in line. We didn't leave until 6pm and when we got onboard there we didn't get to grab a bite to eat because we had to go immediately to the muster drill. By the this time we were starving and went looking for food. Could we find any? NO!!! We were supposed to wait for the dining room to open. I had an anxiety attack at this point and started crying and begging for food so I went up to one of the waiters and started yelling at them that I just wanted food and to sit down. Something to the effect of: "Can't we even get fed on this stupid ship? I just want some food and my feet hurt and I want to sit down already. We've only been waiting for hours in line!" Yes, embarrassing, but it happened. I've got to say they found me a seat and within two minutes moved us into the dining room. Probably to keep everyone else from rioting. After A glass of wine and some bread I started to calm down, ate and went straight to the stateroom and to bed. Everything was ok until we got to the royal Caribbean port in Haiti. We booked an excursion for jet skiing. With our friends. The staff on the excursion was rude and antagonizing. The chicks name was HANNAH and she gave us misinformation and was rude to us because we are middle age and treated us like we were geriatric. She almost let our friend drown because she didn't follow safety protocol or recommendations for the excursion. After 30 minutes of our friend in the water she decided to stop laughing and saying Ebro thing was cool and called for help. After the boat came and took our friends away we just wanted to be done and on our way. They charged us twice for the locker because of their mistake. The port shopping was horrible because the people are so aggressive and rude. Plus, they lie to you just to get you to buy. One guy actually got in my husbands face and told him "LOOK AT ME! I'm taking to you." The only good thing was that the ship provided food and beverages. On Wednesday night there was supposed to be a Latin pool party but the whole deck got flooded from the pools because the ship was rocking so badly since we sailed that it was cancelled because they were worried the band would get electrocuted. So were we. They told everyone to go to the Cosmopolitan Club to continue the party. That was a disaster. The do apparently didn't get the memo and some old lady started yelling and cussing at him that no one liked his music and to play something else. When he did, she started yelling at people to get up and dance, so we left. At 1am, said lady was leading a protest two decks below us, stomping and chanting "This stupid "A" (profanity) boat sucks!" because they closed the only dance club early. This went on for 30 minutes. At 4am there was an explosion and I thought the ship was sinking. Never found out what that was about. For the first 3 days the hallway smelled of sewer. There was only one dance club on the ship. The Latin band was awesome! But they only get a corner the deck and it was super crowded because it was the only place that had decent dance music. I called and bought a gift for my husband for our anniversary, which was on the 29th. I waited all day and nothing came. Next day we went to guest services and to find out what happened and they apologized for the error, which I they never said what happened but they ruined the surprise. They tried to make up for it and offered us a bottle of champagne, which we never recieved. They also offered us dinner at one of the premium restaurants to make up for it. That was nice, but ,y husband woke up sick and it wa on the last day of the cruise so I had dinner with my friend and not our anniversary dinner. So no anniversary celebration for us on the ship, thanks to ROYAL CARIBBEAN. Needless to say, we will never ever travel with them again. Worst vacation of our lives. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it went to Aruba. We had to re route due to bad weather (I know that’s no ones fault). But then they take us to Nassau (the worst port in the carribean). So multiple passengers were upset with that choice. On to the food... the main dining room was a disaster. The food was terrible. Not only was the food terrible, they rarely changed the menu throughout the 9 days. We stopped going and went upstairs to the windjammer. The service in the dining room was just okay. They didn’t refill our water, never asked us if we wanted to order a different drink, didn’t clean off our table, and acted annoyed with us more than once. We also had a celebration planned and we told them about it and they completely ignored us. The service in the windjammer was wonderful. We expressed how we had been treated in the dining room and they even brought us cake and champagne glasses so we could celebrate. The head waiter went out of his way to speak to us every night to make sure we enjoyed our dinner. We were very pleased with the windjammer staff and food. The entertainment on this boat is boring. They have some contracted comedy shows that are okay. But the rest is awful. Their shows don’t have any meaning, it’s a bunch of random songs out together and called a show. The daily activities were okay. The passengers were mostly 50+ so the game shows weren’t very exciting. They didn’t have many activities on the days at sea, they saved all the good ones for when everyone was tired on port days. Which made no sense. Overall my family and I were not impressed with this boat. We have been on several cruises and this has been our worst experience. Don’t set your heart on your destinations because they could change them at the drop of a hat! Read Less

2nd time on this ship. WAS our favorite ship. But over all experience has dropped. Food, shows, ports of call, just was not as good. Big disappointment. two days before debarking my wife came down with the Norovirus or food poisoning. They didn't want her to leave the cabin which I understand why. They said the will send someone to help her get off ship. on debarkation day, and After 3 calls they finally said no one is available to help her. As I write this she is still recovering. The chiefs table however was a great experience!. food was outstanding. The buffet however on galley tour was well, I rather have eaten a hamburger somewhere else. The excursions; just junk store. liquor stores jewelry stores, in a very small location, not town villages to visit and see. anywhere else cost big dollars! The shows just not as good as I remember. I cruise about once a year. I think my cruising days are over. Read Less

This was a charter cruise for us on the Navigator of the Seas 5 day trip that was originally scheduled for Falmouth Jamaica and Labadee, Haiti. Thank you to Royal Carribean for switching ports to Coco Cay Bahamas after the reports of violence in Jamaica. Lets gets to the good stuff. Getting on the ship was a breeze...literally. Almost no wait time in checking in and getting our cards etc. We were early so the rooms were not ready so we hung out for 30 minutes at Cafe Promenade and had coffee and lemonade. Finally the room was ready and we dropped off our luggage, checked out the tv, room and we met our room steward Dexter who was divine the entire trip. The ship provided me with complimentary gallon of distilled water for my CPAP machine and extension cord. All the employees were extremely pleasant and helpful on this cruise. Now the negative. The food was lackluster. It was more like cafeteria food at a hospital than a fine cruise line. It was mostly the same things in the Cafe and the buffet. Also, the buffet closes during certain times and they take down the majority of the buffet at other times and the choices are VERY small. A lot of wasted man power and time appears to be happening around the drink stations. At breakfast there are 2-3 workers making up glasses of apple juice, orange juice and water which were being made too quickly and the ice was melting and making the drinks watery. You had to ask for coffee. They did have several choices of tea for hot teas if that is your thing. they also had gluten free and sugar free options. The ship itself was difficult to navigate which caused us problems. No map of the ship was offered to us but they do have digital boards by the elevators to assist you. The Two Poets bar could be bigger, that seemed to be one hub of activity for cruisers on our cruise. The shops were not really functional and too much space is used on the ship for this purpose. Musical acts in the Metropolus Theatre had sound problems with entire cruise. Hopefully they will figure that out in the future. We were in Cabot 3562 on deck 3 which is same level as Threatre and we could not hear the shows in the cabin. We never used the fitness facilities or the pool because of scheduling of activities on the charter. This was my first cruise on RC and if I were choosing a cruise for my family or a vacation which was not a charter, I would not choose RC based on our experience on this cruise. Read Less

This was my first trip with Royal Caribbean, after more than a dozen cruises with Cunard, Carnival and NCL. I didn't have unreal high expectations however, after this experience, I wonder why is it that RCI is considered a higher standard in cruising? My first negative impression came from staff members, whom I suspect are underpaid and in less than decent conditions on the boat (they can't all be moody!). Most of them have questionable attitudes, as if they cannot be bothered. I am not one of those annoying, obnoxious, demanding customers, actually I have compassion and respect for workers, especially since I worked with Cunard myself. Our deluxe balcony cabin lacked bathroom supplies (no tissues, shampoo, or even bags for garbage) and seemed outdated, there was mold in the shower and in the toilet, yucks. Beds were hard and there were no individual controls for lights, which were either blinding or left us in the dark. Internet service package...I might as well not have wasted my money! Was expecting a work contract and needed to have email available, but was unable to refresh, let alone do anything online. Entertainment was mediocre at best, however I didn't expect super talent aboard a boat. What surprised me the most was the very, very poor quality of the food. Windjammer was distracting due to the buffet nature and variety...but their main dining room, Saphire, omg, every dish looked and tasted like a $3 dollar microwave meal. Don't know if I would give RCI another shot, would have to read reviews. For now, as far as big cruise liners, I believe NCL is a much better choice. This was like Carnival, with less desperate feeders and a higher quality crowd, but overly stuffed the same. Did I mention we waited 3 hours for disembarkation? Read Less

We had previously cruised on the Navigator in 2016 and enjoyed it (13 Nights), despite the ship looking a little jaded in places, but the shows and the itinerary made up for the condition of the ship. However in 2017 the ship looks a little rougher, but the shows are identical and the staff are just not interested in being polite and happy. The itinerary had been cut by 3 port days, which meant that there was 5 days at sea and 5 days in port, on the 5 days at sea, 2 of them where crossing the Bay of Biscay, so that wasn’t great, but we knew it would be so, however we were not prepared for such a worn out mattress on our bed, which made the crossing harder, due to the mattress being uncomfortable to start with. We asked for it to be changed, only to find it had been "padded" with towels, which made the hot nights unbearable. Overall this cruise had less days, a shorter itinerary, for more money! The bar service was very slow in some areas. Could have been much better. Read Less

Wanted to see more of Europe so booked with Royal Carribean first and last time! Ship is tired needs a refit though on the positive side is clean. Staff work hard , long days and are always helpfull. Sadly the drinks are very expensive $13 for a glass of wine $3.50 for a can of coke !! There are no price lists at any of the bars so unable to choose other than by looking over the bar . You can buy a drinks package for $65 a day each and can only get one drink at a time so you can't share . Gratuity automatically added of $191 per cabin to your bill unless you opt out . Entertainment was OK in the evening but poor during the day . The main bugbear was the constant hard sell by staff for everything from dinner experiences to photos. Food was good and plentiful in the cafeteria but please loose the plastic plates and dishes they are awfull. Only wanted to sell the tours at destinations so hardly any other information given as to how guests can get about . Also some guests got premier seating and bars off limit for those not paying the premium . Sorry but will not be booking again back to P&O. Read Less

I usually feel the product delivered by RCI to be consistent and usually above average.I found one member of staff on this ship who actually smiled and engaged with me. Most members of staff, especially the bar staff, seemed miserable and lacking in any desire to serve. Usually I look forward to dinner in the main dining room but our waitress was so grumpy I felt like I was an inconvenience to her. I appreciate this ship is one of the older vessels and that it does not make financial sense to invest money in it now but there were obvious signs (literally the metropolis theatre sign was missing two letters) that this ship needed some attention. Bad smells, poor air conditioning in our room, wardrobe door hanging off. I am sure you are aware that some of the older ships do not get the investment that the newer ones do and I also see that that is reflected in the price but it felt at times that the basics were missing. I had such a wonderful time on the independence last october and that is also one of the older vessels so I know that it can be achieved. The good time I had on that ship was largely down to the wonderful staff we had ( CD Jamie fentiman and AM katy McCullagh were exceptional) I felt the CD on the navigator cuddy cuddleson and his activities manager mark? were not up to the standard I have experienced before such as the aforementioned jamie fentiman and also joff eaton who is always exceptional. I also had a CD called Mercedes a few years ago and she was wonderful as well. I really could go on and on about all the things on the Navigator that I feel are substandard but I really do not have the time, I love RCI and will continue to cruise with them but I feel I will avoid the older ships as I don't think the effort is put in there. This was a very crowded cruise and not much was done to make it feel less so. The spaces on the ship were not fully used. Even though it was in the 50's and windy the evening movies were still at the outside pool deck. Why not move them to the conference center area? While it was generally cold outside on the sea days the theater area could have been more fully used for entertainment. The speakers that were scheduled had limited, if any, audio visual support. The theater didn't work for these events. Entertainment was marginal. The only bright spot were the comedians, especially Kivi. The performance put on by the crew felt like forced labor, don't they work hard enough already. These were also a safety nightmare. The shows were so crowded by people looking for entertainment that all access points were blocked with people sitting on the steps. How a medical emergency would have been handled is hard to imagine. Also there was only seating for several hundred people on a ship carrying approximately 3400 people. Note; these Transatlantic cruise generally carry a high senior passenger headcount! Food was OK, much Indian cuisine. The dinning room on multiple occasions described meals that were not delivered as such. One of my table companions finally asked why he didn't get what was described, but there really was no answer. The waiter has no control on this, Our dinning room waiter was very good and professional, but aside from him I felt like I was on a training cruise, maybe I was. As an emerald member of Royal Caribbean I certainly was disappointed on the level of service. Oh I also was without water in my cabin for several hours on evening. This ship is old and tired and it shows! Read Less

In general, the ship was well run, clean, and had a great variety of entertainment and activities. She's showing her age, and is definitely due for drydock and overhaul, but other than that I had no complaints about the Navigator itself. The ice skating rink was a nice touch, and the live shows both in Studio B and the Metropolis were excellent. The bartending staff was probably the best I've had on any cruise. Very personable, interacted heavily with the guests, and just generally all around fun folks. The entertainment director and the port shopping guide were both fantastic. The problem, however, came in with the food. As usual, the specialty restaurants were fantastic. Sabor was some of the best Mexican I've ever had, and Giovanni's was a solid option as well. Johnny Rockets was Johnny Rockets, you can't really go wrong with good burgers. However, that's where the good food ended. The main dining room's food was terrible. The vast majority of the dishes were the exact same food from the Windjammer buffet line - sometimes plated a little differently to disguise it, but sometimes it looked like someone literally just filled a plate and carried it down to serve to us. It was the single overriding complaint I heard from almost everyone we talked with, and it was so bad that by the midpoint of the cruise a good third of the tables were sitting empty every night. The quality and speed of table service contributed to this, with glasses sitting empty half the time and food taking over an hour to arrive after ordering, and then coming to the table lukewarm or cold. In most cases it was both faster and more satisfying to just eat in the Windjammer. A number of people complained, and the head waiter and dining room manager did their best to fix the service aspect - for the last four nights the head waiter for our section personally served our table and a few others who'd clearly complained as well. It was appreciated, but it shouldn't take a complaint to get decent service. Likewise, the last four nights the quality of the food dramatically improved, as I'm guessing at one of our ports we restocked with higher quality supplies. It doesn't excuse the first seven, though. If you're going to bill yourself as a world class dining experience, I expect better food than what I could get at Shoney's. That aspect really hurt our experience. I've cruised frequently - and often enough with RCI to know that that experience is not the norm, or at least wasn't the norm three years ago. For right now I'd have to recommend away from the line, particularly as I see a number of similar complaints from other cruisers. Read Less

Sailing to MIami for my recently widowed friend to meet her son who lives in USA. So disappointed with the entertainment. I would like to know why we were crammed into and standing up for quizzes in the piano bar when this activity is so popular, when the Star bar was empty and loads of seating. There was line dancing which was so popular it was full, but this was only offered once or twice, same with the Kareoke which was nightly at 9.45pm for 45 minutes but so popular again crammed, and poor, in house, Kareoke with not enough content why don't they afford ''Virtual DJ'' which you can purchase very cheap online. The ice show which I had seen before on another ship with fantastic costumes, was so disappointing almost hip hop in jeans and tee shirts I was disgusted having raved about it previously. The comedian on stage one night even commented ''oh someone in the audience laughed''. The only night it was great was when the Beatles tribute played but that was only once why didn't they use them somewhere else like the Star lounge as well. I could go on, but like Royal Caribbean I cant be bothered!!!!!! Read Less

Smoking allowed in the casino, you can smell it 3 decks up. Other cruise ship do not allow smoking in the casino. Last cruise on Celebrity we spent lot of time in the non smoking casino. Ship showing its age. Speakers on the ship extra loud we could not understand what they were saying. Food choices not so good, can you say ham, ham and more ham? Quality of food not that good I guess that they wanted us to eat at the specialty restaurants. Service OK. One day the room was not made until we had to go and get the cabin Stuart after 2pm. We had a different busboy every night for the 9 nights. Slow waiter we were almost the last ones leaving the dining room every night (early dining 6pm). Idiot passengers that insist on smoking in the balcony and ignoring you when you tell them that they are not allowed to smoke in the balcony. Read Less

The Navigator is both elegant and well maintained. But the crew seemed to have lost enthusiasm along with the company´s expansion of the fleet or some other kind of management crisis. Already during boarding expect to be treated like a 2´nd class passenger if you are not a frequent RCCL costumer or travelling in a suite. The main restaurant serves food of a high standard, and service is near perfect. Only other complimentary alternative is the Windjammer cafe which is extremely noisy and serving several hundred guests at the same time. The choise of food in the cafe is poor compared to other Companies, and for some reason you have to stand in line to get coffee from a crew member, while all other food and drink is on self service basis. These places are only open certain hours a day. In the lower deck is a small cafe which is open all day, but far to crowded when other alternatives are closed. Royal Caribbean promises most restaurants to be complimentary, and this i simply not true. You should expect a heavy pressure to try the non-complimentary restaurants from the crew. They addressed us while eating, resting and sunbathing as if we were at a Middle East Bazaar. There are no outside food options at all. Several alternatives exist for outdoor relaxing and bathing in quiet or more active surroundings. Unfortunately the sports programme is limited and frequent last minute cancellations took place during our cruise. Other times the crew member in charge didn´t know the rules of the game or simply ordered the game to be stopped prematurely. There are several offers for nighttime entertainment. The shows in the main theatre shows a steep decline compared to previous cruises with RCCL. But singers and piano players in bars and Casino managed to make for a fine atmosphere. If you are a foreigner be advised that Royal Caribbean insists on setling your account in your own currency (though they ask you to choose during the booking proces) at an exchange rate in their favour. You will benefit from insisting to settle the account in USD while on board, since credit Card Exchange rates are about 3% better. Read Less

Note: Hurricane Dorian had just gone through a week beforehand so I am not going to base any of my review on the Nassau Port beach areas or initial expectation of beach enjoyment rather, I will focus my review on the Navigator, Nassau, & Coco Cay's activities and amenities. We had booked beach/ocean excursions but canceled after the hurricane knowing that the water would be full of debris and not clear. It's a good thing or we would have wasted a lot of money. Myself & 18 Year Old Daughter Ocean View Room - Deck 2 Budget Trip to Enjoy the Ship & Ports - No extra packages etc. We literally wanted to sit by the pool and on the beach. First, the Cons: Ship: The ship is showing signs of wear and tear, seats in certain venues are worn and look rough. Cushions on the deck in the Solarium are stained and as the fabric is a solid, light color, it has a particularly "nasty" vibe on the cushioned couple's lounges...if you know what I mean. (Hey Designers....the cushions would be better off with a printed fabric.) The Solarium pool is a little worn and the fountains never worked while we were there. On cruise days, there just wasn't enough shaded seating as an option on the decks and if you didn't get there early, there wasn't enough seating around the pools, period. We spent a lot of time looking for pool seating then heading indoors so as not to get burned until people would disperse for activities. Seriously, there was NO music at the Solarium, no steel drums, no dj, nothing...just this weird dead air silence or chatter from the people laying about. We could hear music from the other pool but if you didn't want to share the pool with kids, you didn't get the fun entertainment or music at all. There wasn't enough music on board in my opinion. Cabin: Let me say, I was hesitant about our cabin location but I LOVED it. This was a budget trip but I can't do rooms without natural light so I spent more on the OceanView but didn't choose our room. Our steward was super nice and kept our space very nice but you could tell that she was just "done & over" the whole thing. We made sure to leave her a nice tip and try to keep our space clean. I felt that we may have been in her way a lot. As for the room, we had 2 twins set up and everything in our cabin was perfect except, 1. there was mold growing between the glass and wall in the shower behind the seal, not a place that can be cleaned. (poor design) 2. The decor and linens are starting to look worn and there are a lot of stains on the whites. 3. Our window stayed pretty dirty which hindered our view.....we couldn't tell if it was between the glass or outside but it's probably because it was so low to the water. Food: Windjammer had too much repetition, especially at breakfast and lunch. The food seemed to be geared toward the kid's palate, not adults as much. This is probably a good way to get cruisers to try the elevated dining but be prepared for that if you plan on traveling on a budget. The "American" food choices were a bit bland while the "International" foods were sometimes oversalted, especially the meat at the taco bar by the pool.....add rice and beans to subdue that. Also, if you like chocolate, you are going to really be searching the ship, there wasn't a lot. If you don't drink a lot of alcohol or sodas, buying a drink package is pointless but be prepared to have little to no selection for beverages. On day one, the Windjammer had coffee, hot tea, water, ice tea, lemonade, and oj, after day one, I only saw coffee, hot tea, water and apple juice (watered down)....you had to really hunt down water as the dispensers were often empty. It's difficult to refill water bottles at the dispensers but quick tip, if you go to the soda dispensers, they also have water and you can fit a water bottle under the spout. The hot tea selection is pretty decent so if you can find ice (good luck) you can make a decent ice tea....bring your own reusable bottle/cup or you will struggle to stay hydrated. Entertainment: Again, more music on the Solarium deck please! Also, throughout the ship, there needs to be more music during the daytime. The rest of this con is personal preference as entertainment is so subjective. Much of the Promenade entertainment felt very "middle school pep rally" except the live bands across from the Cafe Promenade...they were awesome even though you had to stand in the walkways to watch. The library needs to be repurposed; I was told that a lot of the books get thrown out when there is a shipboard virus or people walk off with them so it was really a sad sight to see almost empty shelves. This would be a good space to display more art, have a coffee house vibe, or even just some sort of interactive space. If you are a solo traveler or have a travel companion that is introverted, plan on a lot of people watching as most activities on board are hard to enjoy solo. Nassau - Since we canceled our water activities, we decided to explore Nassau by foot and have lunch at Senor Frogs (go see Michael, he's great). We explored the Straw Market and walked around the town a bit. There is a LOT of aggressive souvenir selling, most of which are repeated items, look for local artisans that are sitting and making and buy from them then just say no thank you when you are finished. On the walking paths, a lot of "high end" shops with "callers" from all sides. If you are traveling with small children or those who have sensory sensitivities, this can be overwhelming and scary. We decided after several hours of being called after ("Mami, can I be your son-in-law!" was constant) it was time to go back and just enjoy some quiet pool time. Ok, Now the Pros - If you are traveling with kids, this is the ship for you!!! Ship: The waterslides, flowrider, rockwall (early before it gets hot), courts, putt putt golf, pools, WATERSLIDES, game rooms, ice skating rink (bring long pants and socks), laser tag, splash parks, teen rooms, WATERSLIDES are AMAZING!! Did I mention the waterslides???? I'm almost 50 and I LOVED them, totally went on them more than you can imagine. If you are are traveling with kids, you are going to have fun. You can even sit in the pool and watch family friendly movies after dinner. The side balconies on the 4th deck and deck 3 are the best places to hang out when the ship arrives and leaves the docks....it's just beautiful and gives that windy "I'm king of the world" feel. If you don't mind being in full sun, there are a lot of upper deck areas to enjoy the view the ride. However, if you need to be indoors because you fry crispy in 10 minutes, head to the Cosmopolitan during the day, it's practically always empty and has a gorgeous view from the top with wrap around windows. You can take your drink up there, a journal, book, sketch pad and have hours of uninterrupted solitude with a great view. Food: If you aren't eating at the Select Restaurants on board but are tired of the Windjammer, make sure you go to the dining room! Their food is top notch and if you get Rob & Felix as your servers, you are going to be pampered. Don't feel bad if you want to order 2 desserts or appetizers, it's totally worth it. Do it! Never leave the dining room without experiencing the creme brulee....if you don't get it, you have missed out. I've decided that anytime the dining room is open when I am on a cruise, I will be there. It saved the food experience for our trip. The taco bar by the main pool is a tasty alternative to the lunch in the Windjammer but their meat tends to be on the salty side so make sure that you get a little extra beans or rice to cut that and some lime and you will be happy! Entertainment: If you are planning a cruise and you love art, add an art budget to your allowance....oh my word, the art auction by Park West was the absolute best fun. I didn't have it in my budget but I left with 6 authenticated, signed art prints in hand and I'm waiting on my Anatole Krasnyansky print to arrive. I just kept entering raffles and participating in the art games and I'm stoked that I came home with so much artwork. I have a few that I like and I've got gifts for Christmas! Look for the piano man in the elevators, that's a lot of fun. Go to the shows....some are hokey but Showgirls was great! We saw their last performance but I'm sure it will be replaced by something else equally great. I enjoyed the Latin dancing and music on board BUT would have loved to have someone to dance with...they need to add professional dancers (like in Dirty Dancing) to dance with solo cruisers because otherwise we have to sit and watch. :( Go to the late night dance parties if you like pulsating dance club vibes on a low key level. I noted that there were a lot of in-bar activities during the day; game show type games, karaoke, bingo, wine/martini/whiskey tastings, and most were geared towards couples. Coco Cay - IF YOU HAVE KIDS>>>>>>>WOWZA! The splash park, waterslides, pools, etc are amazing, you will have a blast. It's a waterpark on an island. Plan on spending the whole day the same way that you do at a waterpark....bring your sunscreen and just let the kids RUN. Read Less

Just returned from a short Stages cruise on Navigator of The Seas, Found good and bad points on board, I will start with the good. Embarking the ship was easy arriving by taxi we waited a short while, the were passed via security check onto check in and on board, only to find no cabins were ready very little seating area, lunch was served in the Windjammer which was excellent but this quickly filled up, and seats here also run short, so it was eat up and back on your feet walking around looking for seats, cabins were opened at 1:30 pm but when we found ours it was still being cleaned, the luggage was also missing, and this never arrived till after 5pm.. Cabins were good but lacked a few home comforts no Shower Gel, Shower Caps, Hair Dryers etc. Crew were very good always a smile and tried hard to please, with exception of customer services, wifi desk , and the excursion desk. The excursion desk were no help , give no information and failed to arrange shuttle busses in port. We were allocated first sitting for dinner but told we there were no reserved tables and it was first come first served! So we dined in the Windjammer. The bars were VERY expensive at $8 a pint! With the result not many used them. Entertainment was first class with big star names like Michael Ball, Collabro, Bobby Dravro and a host more, only problems there were long queues for each show, with seats for some shows reserved for VIPs and shows often over run and clashed. On return to Southampton we were given breakfast and luggage unloaded with great speed as the ship had a very short turn round. One last point my wife was taken ill and we had to visit the medical centre twice , the staff were very good, but for the size of the ship was worried it was under staffed! Read Less

We chose this cruise to the Caribbean for the dates. The process of getting aboard was worse than the security lines at the airport. it took so long they had to offer wheelchairs to various older adults in the queues! We queued for nearly 90 minutes and then it took another 20ish minutes to get sorted before we could board. The entertainment was certainly hit and miss. The ice skating shows were great but the main entertainment in the evening theatre were VERY variable. The three twenty somethings were not impressed with the entertainment or activities. Nothing really hit the mark for them during the whole 9 days. On the other hand our teenager loved the teenage group and loved meeting lots of different people. He had a blast! The ports were quite similar but not sure what we expected from a Caribbean island! Activities were VERY expensive for instance at Labadee in Haiti the zip wire was $110 per person!! Read Less

We went on this cruise with a group as a business trip. The food was below par, the buffet was the leftovers from the dining room the night before. The Saphire Dining Room meals were equal to a Chili's or Red Robin in the US. Definitely not getting what you paid for. We ate in Chops one night, food was OK, but it would be what I expected in the main dining room, and I would expect better from one of the specialty restaurants. Entertainment was short and choppy; 30 minutes here, 15 minutes there, but nothing to hold you there or keep you entertained. We did the drink package which was very expensive, but cheaper than buying 3 drinks a day. Our balcony suite had ripped sheets on the bed, the picture frame was so tarnished it looked black in the left corner, we had 6 bottles of water in the room for the entire 9 days, if you wanted free water you had to get it on a different deck, if you ordered it to your room, you paid a room service fee. It's a giant floating mall where they nickle and dime you for everything. I'm very sad that cruises have become so below average. We won't be cruising anymore. Teresa Read Less
