Just returned from a short Stages cruise on Navigator of The Seas, Found good and bad points on board, I will start with the good. Embarking the ship was easy arriving by taxi we waited a short while, the were passed via security check onto check in and on board, only to find no cabins were ready very little seating area, lunch was served in the Windjammer which was excellent but this quickly filled up, and seats here also run short, so it was eat up and back on your feet walking around looking for seats, cabins were opened at 1:30 pm but when we found ours it was still being cleaned, the luggage was also missing, and this never arrived till after 5pm.. Cabins were good but lacked a few home comforts no Shower Gel, Shower Caps, Hair Dryers etc. Crew were very good always a smile and tried hard to please, with exception of customer services, wifi desk , and the excursion desk. The excursion desk were no help , give no information and failed to arrange shuttle busses in port. We were allocated first sitting for dinner but told we there were no reserved tables and it was first come first served! So we dined in the Windjammer. The bars were VERY expensive at $8 a pint! With the result not many used them. Entertainment was first class with big star names like Michael Ball, Collabro, Bobby Dravro and a host more, only problems there were long queues for each show, with seats for some shows reserved for VIPs and shows often over run and clashed. On return to Southampton we were given breakfast and luggage unloaded with great speed as the ship had a very short turn round. One last point my wife was taken ill and we had to visit the medical centre twice , the staff were very good, but for the size of the ship was worried it was under staffed! Read Less

This was our honeymoon cruise we told the cruise line this having been on other cruises I knew what to expect it was my wife's first cruise I told her what to expect however the small touches were missing lots of corners cut simple things like chocolate on your pillow bed turn down I don't expect these things to me done but on past experiences it has been done and always think it's a lovely little touch.ive always syayed in interior cabins and I knew what to expect but the cabin was very grubby. I did not like the dining experiance we were only offered 6.30 or 8.30 dining didn't get offered my time dining when booked Going to dinner on the first night and being sat with 8 people we didn't know and this would be our table for the next 14 nights we had never been so uncomfortable I do not like eating in front of people I don't know we was on our honeymoon and wanted our own space. We went to customer services and ask them to help us out was told to speak to restaurant manager which we did the following evening we was told he has 3 sheets of paper of people asking for tables for two may be Royal Carribean should look into share dining a bit more a lot of people we spoke to did not like the share table and choose to eat in windjammer which is a shame because fine dining is all about the experiance of a cruise.ship very dusted in public places bar areas broken chairs other passengers who have been on this ship a few times said its the worse it has been lots of corners being cut. We all knew it was going to dry docks in January but it's not a excuse for cleanliness. Staff also seem very sparse but they did work very hard and always very polite and friendly but maybe a bit short staffed Read Less

This was our first cruise which is way we chose this 5 day mini cruise from Southampton. From the very start we were taken care of by the wonderful Royal Caribbean staff who looked after our every need. The food in both the Windjammer Café and the main dining room was excellent. I've never seen people work so hard to keep everyone happy. There was so much to do from eating & drinking through to quizzes in the bar, fun by the pool, films or watching the fantastic ice show and theatre shows. The guest artists in the evening theatre shows were excellent. The only very minor gripe was that the price of the drinks on board was a little bit expensive although not enough to put me off having a few. This was a great way to start our cruise experience and we will be back with Royal Caribbean again.. Read Less

I thought the short flight would appeal however travelling over the bay of biscay was terrible I suffered terrible sea sickness which I never experienced before so I would not choose that route again I have been on this ship three times before and I felt that the standards had slipped a little I still enjoyed the trip but just not as much as before - I feel there were lttle extras before that we now don't have like nicer toiletries etc. The food choices were not as varied as before and I feel that the entertainment was good but not very different - also we used the stay a while facility and we were led to believe we could use the ship as before and this was not the case they shut down your sea pass. We could not use the facilities as we were led to believe unless we paid more money so I was confused as to what we paid the thirty nine dollars for so w complained and it was sorted however we do know that other people were not as fortunate as us Read Less

Magnificent ship with staff that went out if there way to help out and make my family cruise a holiday not to forget. There was so much food in quantity and diversity and the quality was second to none. All over the ship there was different entertainment going on so everyone had a brilliant time. We were all treated like royalty and every corner you turned there was a happy smiling faced member of crew. From the moment we stepped on board to the excursions, the staff couldn't do enough for us. This was our first cruise and we were unsure if we would like the experience. We loved the fact we could step off our floating hotel and see different cultures and people. Take in the architecture and sample local foods and wine. All excursions were professionally undertaken and we personally couldn't wait to get back onboard at the end of the day to feast in one of the many restaurants. We are now converted, roll on the next cruise Read Less

First of all, I previously cruised with Royal Caribbean "Allure of the Seas", and it was so exhilarating, I was looking forward to cruising with their Navigator of the Seas. Alas, I was completely disappointed in my experience with this ship. Here are some of the reasons: 1. When the ship docked, there was no one to direct passengers to the gangway. Yes, there were signs posted on the walls, but when a whole crowd of people are in the hallway, the signs can't be seen, and there is a lot of confusion about which way to go - right or left. Some passengers, were even saying that the exit was at the other end of the ship. This same confusion and scenario repeated itself at subsequent ports. It would have been so simple if there was a staff member at, or near the elevators directing people to the exit door leading to the gangway. 2. All the poultry and fish in the main dining room and the Windjammer were overcooked. The gravest, culinary sin was the "Filet Mignon" in the Windjammer, which was way overdone, chewy, and quite ghastly. A hockey puck would have tasted better. 3. The majority of food was also over-salted, yet the scrambled eggs, omelets, etc. had no salt and were quite tasteless. 4. To be fair, the tastiest food on the Navigator of the Seas was the Italian food. This is not my favourite type of food, but it was the tastiest on this ship. 5. For those passengers who do not particularly like gambling or drinking, there were not enough other activities to keep one interested and entertained on this ship. A lot of the activities were quite boring, and too many of them ended up being sales pitches, and "buy", "buy", "buy" events. 6. The shows were amateurish, almost laughable compared to those on the "Allure of the Seas" (for example). They were lacking professionalism, polish and finesse, and they reminded us passengers of high school concerts that just don't quite make the grade. 7. A few times, the Dance Fit classes were scheduled to be held pool side, but because of inclement weather, the activity moved inside to the Cosmopolitan Club, and no announcement was made, so those of us who arrived a minute or two later, had to ask the lifeguard where was the class, and if he did not know, he had us ask the Towel Rental guy about it. Lovely. Such poor communication and customer service for a cruise ship. This was aggravating and irritating to us passengers. 8. The Line Dance class was cancelled, and no announcement was made. Those of us who showed up for it at poolside then thought that it must have moved to the Cosmopolitan Club. So the group of us headed up to the Club. Nothing was happening there, and the personnel there knew nothing about any Line Dance class. Rushing down to Guest Services, we were then informed that the class was cancelled. When we asked why was the cancellation not announced, the answer was that "not too many people are interested in that class". A simple announcement saying that the "Line Dance class has been cancelled" would have been the courteous thing for Royal Caribbean to do for the few of us who wanted to do this activity. 9. Some of us tried to enjoy table tennis, but Deck 14 was so windy for so many days, that it was impossible to play. If this happens more often than not, why doesn't Royal Caribbean devise some sort of enclosure that blocks off the wind so that passengers can enjoy this activity? Thumbs down for this ship, its activities, its entertainment, and its food. Read Less

We have just returned home after 1 month on Navigator of the Seas, we have sailed on this ship many times before and as usual it was a great experience. The standards of cleanliness are second to none and the staff are hard working ,polite and extremely helpful, we were in a JS on deck 9 and our cabin steward was Richard Bryon, he kept our room spotless and well stocked with amenities and always had a smile and time to say hi! The food has improved since our last trip in May and we cannot fault the food anywhere on the ship. I have read some of the negative reviews relating to other people’s experiences on Navigator and I begin to wonder if they were on th same ship as me. If the food was so bad why do people pile their plates as if they are expecting a famine, I am sure they do not eat this way at home. The selection of food in the Windjammer was really very good throughout the day with speciality foods relating to ports of call. Speciality restaurants are excellent and also the Cafe Promenade have a great selection throughout the day too. We do not always use the Mdr as we prefer to choose when we wish to dine. There are passengers who dump glasses and plates etc in the corridors when it is so easy to leave them in the cabin or leave them somewhere safe. We enjoyed the shows even thought we had seen some of them before, the ice skating is very good and well worth a visit. Overall we loved it and also the opportunity to meet up with friends from previous cruises. Can’t wait for the next cruise. Read Less

We chose the cruise of where the ship went to . We have sailed with Royal Caribbean before, and had a great experience this time no exception. Breakfast and lunch we enjoy in the windjammer, only dinner we like to eat in the main dining room no extra pounds to gain Excursions went great lots of fun and on and of board went easy, and we got lots of information on the excursions. Information was easy to get and everything provided on each part of the ship ik needed. The daily cruise paper was very helpfull in understanding what was going on on the ship where and on what time , even the weather forecast and time changes where repeatedly shared to not miss anything. So go on a cruise be Nice to the staff they work very hard for you, and iT Will not hurt to smile or be Nice . Read Less

this was our first cruise, we found the ship to be very clean and the staff very pleasant, the food both in the windjammer and main dining room was excellent, but I would suggest getting a table 1st for the windjammer and sorting out where your food types are before loading your plates as by the time you find a table which is not occupied your food tends to be cold. there is loads to do for families but not a lot early in the mornings unless you like lounging around the pool, also a lot of the attractions, flow rider, climbing wall and ice rink were not open much, no reason was given and we weren't told before our cruise, but this did not affect us as we are middle aged and preferred a quieter cruise anyway. families with children will love the ship. the only fault we found was there was not enough time in Lisbon but loads of time in the 2 other ports this information was not available to us both before we booked and when we boarded which for us as middle aged people meant we didn't have much to do in vigo or le havre as walking far from the ship can be a bit hilly unless of course you decide to pay for a shore excursion., so as a result we cut our shore trips short and enjoyed a quieter ship. the information supplied for the ports was vague unless you attended the seminar the night before in one of the bars the main problem we found was that there was not enough seating throughout the ship which tended to mean we spent a lot of time going to different bars and shows etc a lot earlier than we would normally do just to make sure we got a seat, bit frustrating really. overall though we would still go on this cruise again irrespective of the couple of minor points and seating issue which did not appeal to us. Boarding was quick and painless - 40 minutes from having our cases taken away from the car, and then parking in Southampton, we were in the Windjammer having a drink and choosing lunch. In the stateroom by 1pm, cases there, and we went down to dinner at 6 relaxed and looking forward to dinner. The food was good - and there was plenty of choice. The main restaurant served daily specials with a core menu of regular choices, all to a good standard, and the Windjammer at lunchtime offered around a dozen choices from the buffet including a daily carvery, Indian selections, Chinese, pasta, as well as various casseroles/pies. There was a good selection of salads as well. If we chose something that wasn't to our taste, then we got something else, and ate well. Service was exceptional. Staff were friendly, and quick. Wine came quickly, and with a smile, and nothing was too much trouble. There was a comprehensive entertainment programme which we enjoyed. Again, if we weren't enjoying something we left. There was always something to do. We avoided the excursions but went ashore under our own steam - particularly enjoyable were Cadiz, Malaga, and Avaccio. Cabin was roomy, clean and the shower was excellent. A great choice of bars Disembarkation was smooth and painless, we left the cases out on the last night, and walked off without any delay, where they were easy to find. From ship to car in 30 minutes, and then the drive home. I take the view that you get out what you put in - looking at some of the other reviews makes me sad for the people who wrote them Beware the moaners - they will suck the life out of you if you let them. I guess being miserable and wanting to share it is a lifestyle choice for some people but don't let them ruin your holiday or affect your choices. This was a great experience, and one we highly recommend. Read Less
