Boarding as always with RC very easy and slick. Great cruise destinations although four port days with the two middle days being St Petersburg was very tiring as we had booked the two day tour of St Petersburg which i0 hours each day. It was also quite crowded at the main attractions, but the world cup was on so that didn't help. Food and service in the main sapphire dining room was poor we had five night speciallity dining package which was good so only had five nights dining in the sapphire dining room. the other two nights we spent in the windjammer which was better by far then the main dining room. We were on Navigator in December 16 and the main dining experiance has certainly got worse. not that it was that good then either. The entertainment was also exactly the same as December 16 vertually word for word and dance for dance. Read Less

We chose this cruise mainly because the ports of call are places which we have not been to yet. Port of embarkation was also a plus since we were able to go around London a few days before the actual cruise. This was my third time to cruise using Royal Carribean and from the first time I cruised with RCL, I was very impressed. Their food selection in the Windjammer is very wide especially if one prefers to have a casual dining. The Sapphire dining is a great alternative for breakfast if I prefer a more formal ambience. I love the salad bar served during lunch at the Sapphire dining during sea days and for dinner, service of waiters are excellent. And after dinner, we always look forward to the shows at the Metropolis theater which has been prepared very well. The cruise director and staff have always prepared activities fit for all. As for the cabin we stayed in, it was spacious and was always kept clean by our stateroom attendant. All our requests have been granted. I feel that whenever I am onboard Royal Carribean, I feel pampered by all the friendly staff of the ship. The shore excursion options are all good. And the way the excursions were handled were very orderly. I am now planning my next cruise with Royal Carribean that will fit my budget and the dream places I would like to see. Read Less

My husband and I were travelling with a group of 60 passengers and this was our 1st ocean cruise. I was nervous about being on the open seas, but once on board Navigator of the Seas, all fears were gone. It was a smooth sailing vessel even when the N. Sea became a little choppy. Thoroughly enjoyed the live shows in the theater, the entertainment (trivia, sing-a-longs, etc. ) in the Schooner lounge, friendly chats at Boleros, dancing and socializing in the Cosmopolitan and the English pub. My favorite though was the Promenade Cafe, where we were able to indulge in English scones and other pastries with a nice cup of tea at any time we wanted too. I decided to have a spa hour and enjoyed a soothing massage in clean comfortable surroundings. Also enjoyed the gym, but preferred to take in the fresh sea air by going for walks on the decks. As for the meals, our scrumptious dinners were in the Sapphire Room and we had our breakfast and lunches in the Windjammer, which were delicious and fresh. I did not get to eat at any of the other restaurants, but heard that the meals were great. Also had fun and enjoyed the on board shopping. Had the opportunity to have a chat with the Captain which was a highlight. The crew from different parts of the world were courteous, very friendly and helpful. It was a super experience to be on board the Navigator of the Seas. Read Less

This is the first time for me to travel by cruise, it is an excellent experience. The ship and stateroom are very clean and nice. The stateroom attendant was very efficient and did a good work. The staff on the cruise are very friendly and helpful. Especially the wait persons were very attentive and friendly. We had couples days in the ships cruising and there were lots of things to do during those days, and you would not feel bored in the ship. The environment in the ship was very nice and comfortable. The maintanance of the ships was excellent. Food was very nice and lots of different cuisine and variety to choose for. The menus was slightly different everyday so that you could have different food everyday. And there were some other special restaurants which is worth to try. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to go with this trip with Navigator of the seas. Read Less

The cruise was good, as was the food and entertainment. Cruise ship staff were excellent. If I have a criticism it would be the distance the ship was docked from the the town/city we were visiting, also the length of time we were allowed to spend on shore at some ports of call was not enough. Food/Dining Cabin Entertainment we all excellent I would go again, but would necessarily go shore at all locations. Tallinn and Saint Petersburg were the highlights of the cruise and would highly recommend visiting them. I did the one and a half day St Petersburg trip. This was very good, but don't expect to see everything, at the places you will be visiting as the museum's and the crowds, are huge. This makes it difficult to get around. Also the is very little time for shopping. Except for one place they take you to, which, is quite expressive. Read Less

Although the ship is in need of a few repairs, all in all its still in good shape. The entertainment is good in all areas especially the main theatre. Service is good as you would expect from Royal. The highlights have been with the tours we have chosen. With the cruise tours been to expensive with went with Alla Tours and I have to say they are the best we have ever had from a cruise ship. From the ease of booking and dealing with them, to the expert and friendly guides. I would highly recommend them. Our cabin was spacious and clean with a extra large balcony at the rear of the ship, sometimes sute did lodge outside but room attendant kept it cleaned. The ship was just the right size for us not to big and not to small. The main theatre had two shows a night which were very good. Read Less

Cruising with friends and family.6 in the party all adults. Had a great time . the weather was great , we was round the pool area on sea days . Very comfortable , great laughs from Daniels entertainment . Of the headliner shows Bobby Davro and Jack Pack and Mick miller were excellent shows. Ricci Jay was rubbish . All staff were so helpful and always smiling . The room was cleaned twice a day , and towels changed. Very good service . The food was wonderful in all the resturants , especially in sapphire evening dining. All waiters were great. We all liked a drink and the bar service was fantastic in all the bars .the waiters were so quick with the drinks . Smoking room was a godsend for me aswell . Karaoke was a bit of a let down , not enough songs to choose from and was only on once for the adults, but daniel was a great host. I wasn't happy paying 52 dollar to get to Bruges that was a bit expensive , and went on the 8am bus and when we got there nothing was open till 10am , very disappointing . Bruges itself was beautiful. Overall a great holiday . Read Less

The Navigator of the Seas this cruise was exceptional! From the moment you arrive at the Southampton Cruise Terminal the customer service made getting our luggage and ourselves so quickly and easily. All rooms were ready at 1:00 PM. CABINS- The cabin was clean, stocked and the attendant catered to every need. The beds were super surprisingly comfortable for both my husband and I . The cabin was well insulated and we slept soundly every night. We had absolutely not one issue with our cabin. We wished we would have upgraded to a balcony to get the cool north sea breeze into our room but we didn't think about it . FOOD-The food was exceptional as well. EVERYWHERE. From the windjammer we decided to eat there most evenings. The chef Joseph on this ship prepared fresh fish and chips for our table with different fish every night. This was not the norm. He saw how we enjoyed them on day one and they were not on the menu any other night so he brought a platter each night. Another aspect of the food was they really took great care and made the food comparable to the ports. Like we were in Germany and they had sausages...The mornings they made sure the English and different Europeans had their traditional foods available as well . (We are Americans). The Cafe Promenade Coffee was one of our favorites. They had ILLY coffee which we loved! We highly encourage you to purchase the beverage package. We added it up and even though my husband doesn't drink alcohol by end of day two it paid for itself. The bottles of water , spring, or sparkling was available all day and on the excursions as well. The wines they poured were premium wines. We didn't see one cheap bottle the whole cruise. We did eat in two specialty restaurants. Chops Grille..yes go! and Giovanni ended up being our favorite! We had steak there as well and they brought all the superb Italian entrees as side dishes for us to try. On Board Activities - highly recommend the Sushi Making Class! Flow Rider was a big hit for my husband! He surfed in the North Sea.. SHOWS and Entertainment-They also took great care in the movies they selected. They were for the region we were cruising to and from, We would wrap up on blankets on the pool deck (get your blankets early this was surprisingly popular) and wrap up and watch the movies. The north sea wind didn't stop anyone! It was very fun. Nice Quiet areas- our favorites areas for solitude was the solarium. We love children but this is a nice quiet area for adults. The steam and Sauna we used daily. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful the ports and cities we visited. I highly recommend the excursion Lubeck in Germany. We enjoyed the service on this ship. It was comforting at night to watch the TV with the cruise director and activities director informing us about the next day , very helpful Read Less

The cruise was wonderful experience and the service was excellent, our was cabin over looking the Promenade was beautiful, Foods was absolutely tasty. we have thoroughly enjoyed our holidays and will most certainly will cruise again with Royal Caribbean cruises again hopefully soon. The entertainments and the activities and the services was excellent. the embarkation and the disembarkation was very smooth we did not encounter any discomfort at all. We quite like dinning in the wind jarmmer simply had massive selection of food to chose from. Down stair cafe was very handy too with tasty snakes every time you fancy a bite to eat. Night entertainments was very good there was always something going on so you never get bored. On the top deck there was so much going on from music to massive screen playing all your favourite films and more simply wonderful themes. We have had absolutely wonderful time. This was our first time on the cruise and we really enjoyed it very much. Read Less

A good 2nd RC cruise, generally. The ship is lovely; there's lots to do. The food is great, the staterooms nice and the staff/service are amazing. Sadly it's getting quite Butlins. For the price, it's less swish and luxurious than you'd imagine, especially compared to other lines. Whilst it was fun, it was over-crowded, and quite ropey in-parts, where activities/entertainment were aimed at families/young children. It was quite low-brow and populist; endless Bingo and Karaoke, people going to dinner in hoodies/tracksuits. There were children everywhere, and this was encouraged by nature of the activities/entertainment. It felt more like a holiday-camp than a nice, posh cruise, which seems a shame, given it's marketed as a luxury. Also, facilities couldn't accommodate the number of passengers. The Windjammer was over-capacity, bars were full; you couldn't find a seat anywhere. Too many people packed-on without thought of how they would spend their time on-board. Read Less

Wanted to see more of Europe so booked with Royal Carribean first and last time! Ship is tired needs a refit though on the positive side is clean. Staff work hard , long days and are always helpfull. Sadly the drinks are very expensive $13 for a glass of wine $3.50 for a can of coke !! There are no price lists at any of the bars so unable to choose other than by looking over the bar . You can buy a drinks package for $65 a day each and can only get one drink at a time so you can't share . Gratuity automatically added of $191 per cabin to your bill unless you opt out . Entertainment was OK in the evening but poor during the day . The main bugbear was the constant hard sell by staff for everything from dinner experiences to photos. Food was good and plentiful in the cafeteria but please loose the plastic plates and dishes they are awfull. Only wanted to sell the tours at destinations so hardly any other information given as to how guests can get about . Also some guests got premier seating and bars off limit for those not paying the premium . Sorry but will not be booking again back to P&O. Read Less

We went on this cruise with a group as a business trip. The food was below par, the buffet was the leftovers from the dining room the night before. The Saphire Dining Room meals were equal to a Chili's or Red Robin in the US. Definitely not getting what you paid for. We ate in Chops one night, food was OK, but it would be what I expected in the main dining room, and I would expect better from one of the specialty restaurants. Entertainment was short and choppy; 30 minutes here, 15 minutes there, but nothing to hold you there or keep you entertained. We did the drink package which was very expensive, but cheaper than buying 3 drinks a day. Our balcony suite had ripped sheets on the bed, the picture frame was so tarnished it looked black in the left corner, we had 6 bottles of water in the room for the entire 9 days, if you wanted free water you had to get it on a different deck, if you ordered it to your room, you paid a room service fee. It's a giant floating mall where they nickle and dime you for everything. I'm very sad that cruises have become so below average. We won't be cruising anymore. Teresa Read Less

Fitted in well with school holidays and always good to sail from Southampton. Ship is a good one although a little tired in places. The last time we had Clo as a cruise director she was disappointing but she was bang on form on this cruise. Main dining was good service but main dining food was not as good as it used to be and significantly lower in standard than NCL who we used for the first time this year. Service has improved since the same time last year and a good itinerary made for a good holiday. Excursions were varied but in my opinion very overpriced and 50% cheaper to organise yourself in some cases. Speciality restaurant prices have gone up significantly over the last few years and generally, menus have reduced in variety and not changed much in the last 8 years. Hypnotist show was brilliant, and whilst it may seem like a moanathon, still a good holiday and we will use again if it's a good deal Read Less

Chose this cruise as it was from Southampton (no flying) and 6 nights just about as long as I can leave my elderly mum. 1st time on Navigator, shes a large ship, not the newest but immaculate, beautiful and feels very grand. Loved the fact you can walk around the entire ship on deck 4, and even get right to the front to do a "titanic" pose! From the moment me and the missus boarded we had a ball. Plenty of lively bars, and a late night club on deck 14 that rocked until 5am every night! So many fun things to do during the day, lots of entertainment by the pool decks etc We particularly enjoyed the casino, which was very busy even at 3am. The staff were really fun. The food was great, we mainly ate in the buffet it was that tasty. I would recommend the drinks package as its nice to try a load of different cocktails, and its nice to not sign for anything lol Overall Ive done 5 cruises, and this was my Fav ship and Fav staff. 10/10 Read Less

For this years' family friends group holiday we decided to go for a cruise - and it was one the best decisions. It is very convenient holiday and yet full of everything. It starts with parking your car and ship attendants are already at the car park to pick up your luggage. Once checked in, and on-board, it felt like completely different world. We even joked among our friends that this is the ideal society everybody should be dreaming of - just show you sail card and you get everything you need! It was the magic of the premium package sticker on the card - all you drinks were free - wow. Just walking in to the Sapphire dining room felt great and we are dining there everyday. Windjammer is a great place to eat with lot of varieties of food. It was so good and popular that often you won't find table to sit down!" There were so many activities and entertainment events going on - there was not sufficient time for all of them. Jogging on track on Deck 12 was unique experience. Overall it was a very good trip. Chose this cruise based on ports of call. Prices for lots of things increased from just last year: bottled water delivered to cabin; cost for room service; prices for alcoholic beverages and sundry items (DayQuil cough suppresant) was outright gouging. Price charged by RCI for transport from airport to Southampton port was too high: $101/pp one way. Production shows ranged from merely adequate to outstanding. All of Captain's commentary was translated to SPANISH. Why? The cruise departed Southampton, probably 85% of the guests were from the British Isles. How many English residents speak only Spanish? How many Spanish-speaking guests were aboard, who spoke no English at all? Two days in St. Petersburg was great; Helsinki was a disappointment. Only thing there is the Sibelius Park and the Rock Church. Maybe should have had a port of call in Sweden instead. Just need a couple more nights to achieve next C&A status. But probably will consider cruising with another cruise line in the future. Read Less

Weather chillier than expected on a couple of days, but who noticed, there is so much to do on this ship that you can never get bored! Love the Promenade, great party nights for 4th July and Brit night plus the Circus Parade on the last evening! Superb entertainment from the cruise shows to invited singers, illusionist and comedians, C and W music in the pub, classical trio, band music, guitarist, pianist and the Navigator orchestra plus the disco! The best organisation in any buffet at sea - never a problem or a queue, only delays were caused by the guests staying in their seats after they had finished - never had to wait in line for anything including freshly cooked omelette- so streamlined, it was perfect! Good and varied food in the restaurant with great waiters! The only drawback on this cruise was that some docks were a long way from the stated cities and there was a steep charge for a shuttle to town - sometimes $20 per person. If the port states a city I think the cruise should take you there! Our promenade view cabin was fine, clean and comfortable bed,but looking a little tired - maybe due for a refurb soon? All public areas were spotless and sparkling in spite of all the glass and mirrors I never saw a dirty smudge anywhere! The cruise excursions were pricey, as usual, we preferred to book privately with T J Tours in St.Petersburg and saw twice the sights for half the price, most other ports we made our own arrangements or shared a taxi. Would definitely recommend the Navigator of the Sea to anyone and hope to travel on her again one day! Read Less

Easy parking in Southampton near the ship, luggage collected and sent to Stateroom, very easy transit to onboard ship. The Stateroom was great, 8th floor, the whole ship was wonderful, "The Two Poets" bar could have been bigger, with more seating as it was always full ! The food on board was better than excellent, served with first rate friendly waiters, in fact all the staff were excellent a credit to RC. The shows and ice show where excellent a great experience! There is never a dull moment, with loads of onboard things to do. RC organised trip on shore were well organised and Guides very informative fantastic! On the other hand, once on board waiting for our Stateroom we where pounced on by staff trying to sell us meals in other restaurants- only been on the ship five minutes! The price of WiFi if you need it is so expensive! We paid £112 each upfront for gratuities but with the well over priced drinks that incurred an extra 18% on top, a single photograph was nearly $20 each! Wilst we had a fantastic time and glad we went, but felt as many others who have been on RC ships before felt the same, I know they need to make money, but they spoil it with there prices! Our 5th Cruise with RCI, was a little concerned after reading the reviews previous to our Cruise. Glad I took them with a pinch of salt. The Navigator is a lovely ship. Spotless clean. Saw hand rails being cleaned all the time. Can honestly say these were the best Staff we have encountered. All the bar staff were friendly and very efficient. All drinks on the package were great from the cocktails to the coffees. The dining room staff on deck 5 my time dining were brilliant. The lovely friendly lady at the entrance managed to get us the same table most nights with John & Komang who were great. They really looked after us . All the food we had was good both in dining room & windjammer. We had a meal in Giovanni s one night which was delicious & well worth the fee. There were advertisements for dining and drinks packages but not once were we approached by staff to buy these. The entertainment was brilliant. Darren Day & Lauren Broad were superb as were the comedians and other shows. Ice show is a must see, had several performances so everyone gets a chance to see it. Entertainment team did a great job with the quizzes etc with most people being indoors due to the weather on sea days. Only criticism really would be to have them in the Star lounge as it's much bigger. The dancing lessons were good but ought to be in a bigger venue too. The disco in the Cosmopolitan Club is the best we have seen on any Cruise. The DJ was fab & it was full every night with all ages. The Itinerary was amazing. We did all the Ports by ourselves making full use of HOHO buses to get around. Russia was the highlight though. We did the 2 day Grande Tour with Alla Tours. The guide Dimitri was brilliant. He was so knowledgeable. We saw some unforgettable sites, we were taken to a wonderful Hotel for a 3 course meal with wine on the 1st day and had a packed lunch on the 2nd day. Even the rain didn't spoil it for us. The Cruise compass was very informative explaining how to get around at all the Ports and the map they provide is very useful. Bruges was the only Port that there was a bit of chaos. There is a free shuttle to the gates but you are better off getting one of the many buses lined up waiting at the Ship into the Centre for €20 return. We only took Euros as currency as most places accepted it or used our Credit Card especially in Russia. Even used it in the gift shop there. The buses take CC as payment also. My hubby even swiped it to use the toilet in Norway. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable Cruise and would definitely recommend RCI NOTS Read Less

Mainly to see Russia and Baltic countries found Estonia wonderful,Russian shore excursions to peterhof palace and hermitage to rushed not able to really take in art or rooms because you are herded like cattle no time to get refreshments or buy from souvenir stalls and they had no ventilation and you were drained at end of tour. Cophenhargen the shuttle bus drivers on 2 of the buses had no idea were the drop of point was and got lost were stuck on bus for over hour and half did not know how to turn of bus heating in end we were told to get of bus and find drop off point ourselves as the 2 buses had got stuck and caused traffic jam police told us were to go. All other destinations were really nice. At beginning of cruise we had booked with virgin my time dinning at 6pm and had said my wife had special dietary needs because of her Barrett's osphagus.when we went to dinning room we were told we were on the buffet at 5.30pm and that was that even though I had the paper work from virgin saying we were correct and we had to have a big argument we were all ready to leave cruise until a manager came over and finally got it sorted and they blamed virgin for it yet I had paper work to prove it was royal carribeans fault. I booked 2 rooms one for us and another couple friend. This was their 1st time on a cruise so they loved it however it was our 5th but 1st time with Royal C. I found ship very small compare to others and very crowded on a sea day. Always struggling to find space to sit near the bar area when there is nothing else going on. Also hard work finding seats up in the Windjammer at anytime. Food in the dinning hall was very poor quality and tasteless though the head person who was looking after our table was trying his best but the chef's compare to WindJammers were not good with our requests and 3 of us were vegetarians. Finally we decided to just eat in Windjammer. Also they closed at 9pm which was too early as lots of people use to get there after the 1 show and people who want to see the 2 show were also trying to eat there as it would close before the 2nd show finished. Some waiters were friendly and others not, as they struggled with speaking English. Our room was on the 9th floor 9660 which was right opposite the stairs for service and so bringing luggage or taking luggage or any other time we use to hear lots of noises at odd hours. Entertainment was good but then other cruise liners were also good. We had all inclusive drinks package so that was good but even then from 4th day they did not have mint or sometimes lemon or certain beers and asked us to go to another bar which kept our choice. Oh and on the 10th day we found out from another passenger that we could order special request food at Windjammer which was really nice but this should have been told by the dinning hall people from the 1st day when they knew 3 out of 4 in our party were vegetarian. Immigration for St Petersburg was very long and took forever. We left our ship at 11.30 since we were queuing from 8.30am !! But it was worth it and our guide was very good English speaking and recovered the lost time and finished late. I would go on this cruise again only if there is a very good deal otherwise if I had to pay the same money then I would go on other cruise liner. Read Less

The ship was impressive huge but easy to find your way about. Entertainment was absolute rubbish. Highlight of week was Bobby Davao we walked out. He spent all his time insulting people, it seems a trend, we had three so called comedians all did same. The dance group was ok, but only appeared three times in 11 nights. Food was exceptional windjammer busy but still good we always got a table, the Sapphire was wow service always good to excellent The room larger than we have had comfy no complaints in any shape or form, credit to staff The service desk was less than helpful, my wife lost her passport coming aboard in Russia, they just said go to bed sleep on it, really could you? The security people were great turned the place upside down found it, Watch out for the drinks packages sp and up make sure you get up Now the worst part, pay pay pay and then pay again I wanted 4 a batteries for camera, no shop on board sold them, I could get rechargeable ones for 59 dollars including charger I Finland I got 4 for 4 euroes All e shops sold expensive and I mean expensive stuff, no place to go to say a razor The tours, use the hop on hop off busses well worth it but make sure in Helsinki you have plenty of time traffic is really bad had us worried we wouldn't make it back Tour organisation is bit amerterish, we went to ballet had to stand for half an hour waiting for busses dam cold The ship shakes and shivers in anything but calm, had to stay up all night with her as she was seasick, they showed films on the big screen outside at night , we we in the Baltic for heavens sake. Show them inside it's stupid laid there with heavy coats on blankets watching film in a gale Read Less
