The Navigator is a great ship and offers all the amenities that a modern cruise ship should have. There were some things I liked about this cruise and some things I did not like at all.
Since we live in Miami we just drive up I-95 to Port Everglades, we left our vehicle at Park' n Go which was very convenient. Shuttle bus takes you right to the ship.
Embarkation was a disaster. The ...
Hi,
This was our first Navigator cruise, but we have been on her sister ship, the Adventure OTS, before.
The staff in all venues - the main dining room, the Windjammer, the pool bar, and the Cosmopolitan room were always attentive and friendly! "My pleasure" was something we heard often from those staff members! We always felt pampered!
Our one disappointment is the drink package we ...
This was our second time cruising with Royal Caribbean, last time was on the Mariner of the Seas a few years back. Our most recent cruise was with Princes Cruises, so there were the inevitable comparisons here and there. Overall it was a great vacation because, we made it so and decided to try to overlook many things during the cruise itself.
First off, the cabin was not as clean as it could ...
Disembarkation was uneventful. Port Everglades is an easy port to navigate. We were onboard by noon and in our stateroom by 1pm. We were in a virtual balcony room #9303. Maybe it was just me but it seemed much smaller than a typical interior room. The virtual balcony was interesting, (when it worked). We had the problem of not being able to turn it on and off with the remote. They changed the ...
This is our 10th cruise on Navigator. We have done both pre and post dry dock cruises on her, and one thing has remained a constant, it is a great experience. The crew is outstanding, they greet you warmly every time you see them. That goes for the maintainece crew all the way up to the Captain. The Senior Officers are visible on the ship, and if they have time will engage you in ...
This was our 16th cruise on RCCL and the very first on the Navigator of the Seas. We are Diamond Crown and Anchor members.
We sailed from Port Everglades, Ft. Lauderdale and departed from the "older terminal". A few months prior we sailed on the Independence from the "newer" terminal. Things during check in just did not seem as streamlined as we found at the "newer" terminal. Long lines (even ...
This was our first cruise and we were so excited! We arrived on time and had to wait 3 hours (with a baby) to board the ship. We bought a drink package, but didn't realize they were charging us every day for the entire 8 days. That is partially our fault for not reading the fine print, however, we were never given a receipt to sign and were pretty upset at the end of the week when they charged is ...
Don't be afraid to take this cruise after reading the reviews. We almost didn't and that would have been unfortunate. At the end of the day, NOS is a beautiful ship with a wonderful, hardworking crew. The 8-night is a wonderful itinerary. Unfortunate that it departs from Port Everglades. Be prepared for an unattractive port with no signage next to an airport with chocking jet fuel fumes. ...
The Navigator was a wonderful ship. I love the larger ships with a promenade. We were in a balcony cabin D2-9252 which was roomy and plenty of storage. We also loved the location and easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. The ship offered many classes from making pasta to making sushi. We did take the sushi class it was great and then we got to eat our creations. Every night I would devour ...
I have been reluctant to write this review because we had fun IN SPITE of Navigator of the Seas and I would prefer to dwell on the positives. However, I depend upon Cruise Critic reviews to help me make good cruising choices so I felt I must warn other cruisers - there are far better options out there. We chose this cruise because of the great itinerary. I have happily sailed on Freedom and ...
