We were delighted to be able to get a PH for this 30 day cruise. The stateroom was spacious, the bed amazingly comfortable, the balcony was large, and the beautiful fresh orchid was beautiful. People who were not so fortunate had to make do with a very small bathroom and the outdated plastic curtain in the small shower. The main inconvenience for us was that the PH showers are in the bath and my 83 year old husband found it very difficult climbing in and out of the bath when we had sea days. However, that inconvenience was way better than the already mentioned bathrooms. The stateroom came with a butler, Francis. He was very dignified and willing to assist but we actually had no need of him and would much rather not have had to try and find things for him to do in order to satisfy his desire to be of assistance and justify the extra tip we had to pay for this 'privilege'. It is a shame that there is no option. Read Less

We book penthouse for more space, especially on a long cruise. This gives us a butler, which we do not need particularly, but he was helpful with reservations and serving us dinner in our stateroom with some friends. Read More

We were very disappointed with the location of category PH2, cabin 8053. Several items as per the Oceania Australian website for PH2 did not appear, which we had to bring to the attention of the "butler" initially, who raised the issue with the Head Concierge; not much joy there! For the entire journey, outside #8053 was a major housekeeping station, with multiple trolleys etc. right next to the cabin, 4 hrs. average in the morning and similarly in the afternoon. A bit annoying after a while - would have been nice to share the location around so we were not the ones with this obstruction for the whole time. We did not see the value in PH2, nor the "butler" - having more space seemed to be the only plus. Holland America Neptune Suite SA on Volendam for Alaska we thought was excellent. The afternoon canapes were not enticing and we asked for them to stop, but they continued - such a waste of good food. We are not seasoned cruisers but have sailed on Seabourn (great) and QM2 (Princess category) as comparisons, in addition to Nautica and Volendam. Read Less
