We chose this cruise because it was convenient and sailed out of Charleston. It only took about an hour to board and start our vacation. That was probably the smoothest embarkation we've ever had. We leave near Charleston, so we chose this cruise because the port is so close. The ship is a bit dated but still nice. This was our first cruise so I was a bit shocked at how tiny the rooms are. Shorty after we set sail on the Carnival Ecstasy, I was praying for debarkation. The check in process was painless and moved rather quickly which was a pleasant suprise. First I need to say that I was very excited to go on this cruise....I had heard so many raves about cruising, the food, the fun, etc. We had never been on a cruise and let me tell you ....
