Embarkation and disembarkation went surprisingly smoothly.
Cabin was adequate but we couldn't enjoy balcony due to chain smokers on next balcony. Unfortunate because husband got quite ill with bronchitis and URI and were quarantined on day 6. MSC says smoking isn't tolerated on balconies but maids apparently missed clue of ash tray on balcony. Bed was comfortable.
Food was below average. ...
This was our 4th cruise, and our 3rd in the Mediterranean; we are two mid-30's Americans who live in Switzerland. It was also our first (and last) on MSC Cruise Lines. If everything was executed perfectly, the cruise only had the potential to be mediocre – but time-after-time the staff either made mistakes or were simply rude in a way that really ruined the experience.
The issues started even ...
Chose this cruise as from Southampton and reasonable cost. Ship lovely and excellent dining and cafe staff but not so good bar staff. Very good balcony cabin. However this is as far as plus sign goes. Don't be fooled by the enticement of low initial cost. Fortunately we bought a drinks package, as the prices on board are extremely high. Courtesy bus charges by MSC is certainly a money ...
Hello my fellow American cruisers. Stay far - far away from this cruise ship. We just returned yesterday from a 7 night Mediterranean Cruise on the MSC Spendida. The cruise was over booked with over 4,000 passengers. It was so crowded that you could hardly walk on deck 14 - much less getting something to eat without getting trampled and no place to sit. The elevators were always so crowded ...
My husband, child (age 13), and I along with another family of three decided to sail on the MSC Splendida during the Christmas season. This is our second cruise (first cruise was with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines). The U.S. website was not user friendly when accessing the web check-in. After many calls to both my travel agent and MSC, I finally received our tickets and luggage tags (the day before ...
For me and my mother this was our first cruise. We have flown from Riga to Milan and then took a train to Genoa. Unfortunately on our way back we had no information upon disembarkation in Genoa about the trains not operating all over Italy, so we had to take a taxi from Genoa to an airport in Milan, which cost us about 200 Euro. If we had been provided with the information beforehand we could have ...
This ship is worse than the Divina!
The food that we ate in the restaurant was the same as the Divina on the same day. But the food was cold when it was supposed to be hot. Boring. Thank goodness for the Indonesian waiter: always a smile for his Australian table. Tried to be efficient but the food was slow coming and cold. Divina wins points here. The Maitre D' was past his use by date. Could not ...
Embarkation
Embarkation was quick and efficient and we were on board in minutes and accompanied in person to our stateroom, where our luggage was waiting.
Cabin
Clean, Tidy, Nicely Furnished and decorated. Wardrobe space sufficient. Free safe, TV with pay for movies, Mini Bar. Bath Tub and shower - nice to have both!
I was disappointed with the balcony - having booked an unobstructed sea ...
This is one of the worst cruise ever. The service, food, entertainment and shore excursions are poor compare to other cruise lines. Most of the negative reviews for this ship online are accurate and I will not recommended this cruise to anyone especially British and American.
I have to say the ship is quite nice and the state room is very comfortable and nicely decorated, but that"s all the ...
On our recent cruise on the MSC splendida, we were disappointed with the poor service provided particularly for English speaking passengers.
The only time we saw our cabin steward was when he walked in without knocking. We ran out of loo paper three times, as did other guests we spoke to. The internet service, particularly when at sea was a complete rip off. At 12 euro for 60 mins it was ...
