To begin, I’ve sailed >5 times on Disney, Norwegian and Carnival so I have some cruising experience.
That being said, it is hard to give an accurate rating to MSC because of their amazingly low prices. One should almost EXPECT to get “nickel and dimed” to death. The problem was that this “penny pinching” sorely distracted from my cruising experience.
For example, passengers are offered ...
Disclaimers: First, I believe there is a cruise line for everyone. Second, I have cruised the Mediterranean before (June 2023). Third, I typically sail on Holland America.
I simply did not enjoy this cruise experience. There were multiple things I did not like but understand they may just be annoyances to me. There were a few standouts of things that were really good.
The Good:
1. The ...
Pros are supposed to go before cons, so I will put the positives first, but please don’t miss the negatives later in this review, because although there were a few redeeming qualities, make no mistake, I would never sail with MSC again.
First positive, all the staff below the managerial level deserve to be commended for being true, if not powerless, delights. We had many wonderful interactions ...
I will start by saying I do disagree with the comments about the staff from other reviews they were always friendly and smiled.
We were in a balcony room on the 8th deck right above the manhatten club this place is so noisy at night, I know I should have probably checked this before I booked but it was worse than I expected.
Food wise
Buffet- just meh always busy Food was usually ...
Let me preface this review by saying that I have very conflicted feelings about the World Europa, and this is coming from an avid MSC fan. Just look at the ratings I gave. Take each area individually the ship is excellent, but the sum is not the total of the parts.
This Med cruise was our 5th MSC cruise and 12th overall. We like MSC, but the World Europa left something to be desired. I'll ...
MSC World Europa is a nice new and in particular large ship. Everything is bright and shining. Everything looks good and is working fine. This ship is different from other MSC ships. The ship has no atrium with a glimmering staircase, bar and music. Amusement, restaurants and bars have changed. The idea is to create a new image. This hasn't worked out very well.
Out trip to Genoa, our transfer ...
We picked this repositioning cruise to take advantage of a visit to Jordan, in particular Petra. The deal looked too inviting to resist, but how we wish we had. It all started to go downhill when we received an email from MSC at 3pm the day prior to boarding advising us that "with your safety and wellbeing in mind, we have taken the decision to slightly amend your cruise". This 'slight amendment' ...
My four children shared two cabins on the MSC Seaview in the Yacht Club so they weren’t bunking in with us. We were assured by MSC that “everything” was included. They couldn’t stress this enough. Yet they can’t get icecreams, or have any free inclusions in the games arcade. As they can’t drink the included alcohol this seems unreasonable. The staff are lovely and the rooms whilst not big are ...
Will never go on this ship again - cue to get on (2 hours) cue to get a coffee in the buffet. No seats.
Says there are 17 restaurants. Yes -but only 3 that you can use or pay more. Bars the same -always crowded with no seats and almost no waiter service. The evening shows were a joke -but not funny. 30 mins and that was the big show. 6000 passengers , theatre holds 650 at a time. 3 shows per ...
We have been on five cruises with NCL and once with Royal Caribbean we thought we would try a Mediterranean cruise on MSC World Europa. After reading varying reviews, many of them negative, we decided to go ahead with booking the cruise. Big mistake! For the first two days we were enjoying ourselves exploring the ship and sampling the food. From then on we started to realise that for such a huge ...
