"Unfortunately when we booked this cruise we were unaware that the passenger profile were primarily very conservative Brazilians, and as a gay couple felt very uncomfortable. Also all the entertainment was more focused on Brazil - which is ok if it was good, but it wasn't The cruise with all the extras cost us 1OK and we wish we had just flown to Rio direct The food on the cruise was also below par and the chef on the omelette station in the buffet was obviously not happy in his role The positives are that the ship is new and kept really clean and the staff were generally excellent The spa is beautiful and was quite empty most of the time, however the inside jucuzzi was always cold and when we mentioned this to the staff they said this was normal I suppose we have to add in that this was around the time of the Brazilian elections and there was a lot of hostility around bolsonaro losing Not a great experience all..."Read More

Better for couples than for families

Review for a South America Cruise on MSC Seaview

I will start by acknowledging that most of the issues we experienced would not have occurred if I was traveling solo or with just my wife. But traveling with our five children, ages 6-21, caused many issues. Overall, while the staff was mostly very friendly, they seemed to be inexperienced and/or undertrained. This was apparent right away during embarkation when they didn't want to let us on ...

The chaos for onboarding should've given us the picture, but we had paid and were committed. They gave us a time window to show up, we did. We waited 3 hours and 45 minutes, first hour and 30 of which were in grueling sun, just to get onto to the ship. It was a mad house. Lines don't end there. Anything, food, shows, excursions are designed to create wait, lines and frustration. Pretty much ...

A very good repositioning cruise from Italy to Brazil

A) Embarkation: MSC allows passengers to choose a timeframe for embarkation. It was very fast and efficient. We had 11:00 to 12:00, and by 11:40 AM we were already inside our cabin. B) Cabin: extremely comfortable. Large, modern, spacious. Sofa is quite big for a ship cabin. Wardrobe and storage are limited, which is a little tough for a long trip like ours. Bathroom is modern and efficient. ...

We have travelled on repositioning cruises before 32 in total many on MSC but this is our first one on MSC Seascape. The ship itself is beautiful good State Rooms , crew looking after State Rooms efficient and helpful. However the food is well below the standard we would normally expect. My husband said so much of the food served reminded him of the food available in the British Army when he did ...

I'm a very experienced cruiser, with more than 40 cruises, sailed with all big companies, etc, and cruised before with MSC. I only bought this Atlantic crossing (Barcelona/Rio de janriro) because i thought was really a good price, US 3000 + 500 US onboard credit for a Suite with Aurea experience. Check-in were smooth , although in my reservation and MSC app the embarkation time was ...

Awful experience

Starting from the embarkation the experience was terrible. Complete caos, disorganized, very lazy and uncomfortable... get ready for at least 3 hours of waiting. Arriving at the ship we found all the infrastructure very nice, the house keeping was looking good and the positive impression was carried to inside the cabin... clean, organized and just as we asked. But the good thing stop ...

sorry for my English ! I’m from Brazil . the cabin was the best thing! it looked like a hotel room. the food at the buffet was better than at the social restaurant. everything is paid, there are no activities for 5000 people, the cleanliness of my room was horrible. I bought a wifi package on the last day they already canceled before the trip ended. It is my sixth cruiser (msc, costa, ...

Told 4 crew about the ordeal including reception who told us "Management has been informed". But nobody ever came to see us or even check if we were ok. Sent an email to customer service department highlighting that this was totally appalling, but they didn't see it that way - "I’m sorry to hear that you felt a lack of support from staff on board. Unfortunately, after the local police have been ...

Beautiful ship but activities and food need a major overhaul

We have sailed mostly with RCL previously and was looking forward to sailing with a different cruise liner. This was our first time sailing with MSC. Embarkation process was alright. We embarked from Salvador (Cruise started in Santos, Brazil a couple of days before we embarked) and therefore they only had 2 staff at the check in desk which probably took longer than it should have. As soon ...
