Okay for the price

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Seaside

I chose this cruise for the Itinerary, the price and the low single supplement. Embarkation went smoothly, I was lucky enough to be assigned a disabled cabin and it was large, well appointed and clean. My cabin steward, Stanley was excellent. Service in the dining room was also very good, although it caused difficulty if I wanted to join friends at their table for one meal when there was ...

Very charming ship - some services need improvement!

The ship itself is very beautiful, well structured and cleaned! There are many public spaces available for guests, different bars and outside areas where people can stay and enjoy it with not so much crowd. The staff is generally very nice - sometimes some of them are too indiscrete especially for solo travelers and this doesen't help to make people feel comfortable, this is something that must ...

It is possible to receive superior food on a cruise ship but truly the choice, qualiy and presentation were very good indeed. With a few allergy problems betwen us we were concerned but on our first time into the dining room the waiter immediatlt calle 'The Head Waiter' and from then on either special meals or the same food without the harmful ingredietnts were provided. This was outstandingly ...

Yacht Club not worth it

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Seaside

For my first (and last) MSC Cruise, I wanted to try out the Yacht Club experience. While it was certainly a good choice for the ship as a whole (which was otherwise EXTREMELY crowded, with very limited choices at the buffet restaurant compared to other ships of that size, most choices looking not appealing at all), it is FAR from a luxury or even elevated experience. Embarkation was fairly ...

We chose the cruise as it was embarking at Valencia which is a two hour drive from home. As we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary we upgraded to the Yacht Club suite. This was a unique experience for us. It is the only cruise we have been on and enjoyed a la carte restaurant for the duration. The food and service was very good. I started to make a list of people who made it special for ...

Overexploitation of passengers and staff

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Seaside

The whole experience felt like filling the pockets of MSC at the expense of others and quality. - Staff overexploited working long hours and with little rest. You are served by the same individuals day and night continuously, and it feels like you're treating them like slaves the whole time. - Food was terrible in taste and quality, and the buffet was so wasteful - Every single drink ...

Very relaxing holiday

We chose this cruise as it sails from Marseille which is easily accessible by us and because we wanted Yacht Club, which we have experienced before aboard the MSC Meriviglia. This is only the second time we have chosen an interior cabin (cruised about 20 times so far) and we probably wouldn't choose an interior cabin again. It was fairly comfortable but we really missed having a balcony or ...

MSC NEVER AGAIN

I am very patient. I am always giving the benefit of the doubt. I have never written a scathing review before. But I am out of patience, there is no doubt that any benefit should be granted to MSC, and I am now writing my first ever scathing review (after 63 years.)

Things got so bad, I had to finally keep a list. I didn’t even put many of the tiny things on the list. And yes, some of the ...

WORST CRUISE EVER !!!!

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Seaside

Where to start... From Day 1, we arrived after flying across the Atlantic only to discover that "One of our engines is broken, so we have canceled the stop in France. Not to worry, we are still seaworthy..." Options for remedy were: 1. Take a credit of $100 person / 2. Rebook at a later date. / 3. Get a full refund. (MAN DO WE WISH WE HAD PICKED THAT OPTION!!!!) We later discovered that ...

We choose this cruise as a cruise to no where! MSC are currently only allowing passengers to get off the boat on organised excursions. With no chance of going off on your own. As a 4 star resort hotel the boat was great. However you currently need to pre book on the day jacuzzis (15 minute slots), this may have been because it was french school holidays and the boat was busy. I made sure I did ...
