Fantastica Balcony Stateroom (B2) Cabin Reviews

Our cabin was great thanks to Mike. I feel bad that there are a few wonderful people on this cruise staff because the bad far outweighed the good.

Stateroom 9106- The cabin was perfect. This is particularly true as we had booked an Outside and the Upgrade Fairy visited us and for the first time in 21 cruises we were allocated a balcony upgrade. We often chose an inside to make it possible to have more affordable breaks during the year so it was a fab reminder of how much more room you get with a balcony cabin. We loved the large comfy settee and the extra space of sitting on the balcony and looked out each evening too. The room is so close to a pair of lifts towards front of ship and this was handy as we could look out for the ‘two lifts together’ and know we were close to home! Just a few steps out of the lift and we were in cabin- a great location. Room attendant did a good job too. Read Less

The cabin looked tired and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired . My two grandchildren were with us and the cabin had nowhere near enough storage space . The children slept in a pull out settee bed and when extended there was not enough room to go around it. The language barrier was a challenge as the staff speak Italian and German we asked for information regarding facilities and venues and were left none the wiser. . As for the manners of the European passengers there was a lot to be desired . Read Less

The cabin is quite standard for MSC ships we had a balcony cabin and after a just a few minutes you thought you'd been there for a long time almost like coming home. The room decor is rich and bright, that gives the room an expensive feel as does the entire decor on this ship. The TV is on the small side with a smart remote control to view ships account. There are 5 channels in German, 4 channels in Italian, one channel only for English, BBC world news. They advertise films , most you will have already seen and want to charge€7.50 to watch! *TIP* I always bring a few films and music on a flash drive a must if you have children as there is no TV at all for them. Tthe addition of a Kettle and Yorkshire tea and coffee was a welcome plus. We brought milk down with us from the bar to use. Sockets: there are 2 American flag pin and 2 European round pin on desk panel. *TIP* I always use is to bring along an adaptor to make use the power socket by the bed to charge phones they are European round pin type as a rule. The Bathroom the same as most cruise ships the addition of a glass door on the shower was greatly appreciated anybody who's had to put up with the curtains will know how difficult it is larger people have on most cruise ships Read Less

We had 3 balcony cabins so they opened up the balcony position so we could be together. The decor in the rooms was rich and bright. No drab colours here. It looks and feels expensive as does all the decor on this ship. For a 2 week cruise there was just enough room in the wardrobe. Safe was the usual. Bathroom as usual, poor water pressure unless you have a shower at 6am or 11 pm. Variable height shower hose and pressure nozzle. Round plexiglass doors and no rust or mildew anywhere! Cupboards to hide away toiletries and shelves. Desk as per usual with solid square stool instead of chair which is better as it takes up less room and you can put your feet on when sitting on the sofa. Cabin size average for balcony cabin but 3 seater sofa. The mattress harder than other cruiseliners. TV on the small side with remote control. 5 channels in German, 4 channels in Italian, one channel only for English, BBC world news. They advertise films which anyone with Netflix or sky has already seen and want to charge€7.50 to watch! So don't advertise TV to English speaking passengers! Certainly no children's entertainment there. Kettle and Yorkshire tea and coffee was a welcome plus. 2 sockets American flag pin and 2 sockets European round pin on desk panel. Balcony is definitely smaller than other ships. You cannot put the stool in front of the chair to look straight out to sea. The ship's design is wider at base then narrower hence the narrower balconies. If you look over the railing you look into the promenade deck and the life boats hang over the edge of the promenade so you can't see straight down to the water from the balcony railing. Read Less
