First MSC cruise but not the last

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Opera

We chose this cruise as it sailed from Havana and we disembarked in our home province of Alicante so we got to see Havana and the Caribbean with no jet lag! The cabin (inside fantastica) was spacious and airy due to the clever use of mirrors. Plenty of wardrobe space and room to move around. The entertainment team were great. Not to everyone’s taste I get that but the ship was big enough to ...

We decided on this cruise as a sudden addition to our bucket list - Havana (Cuba), St Marteen, Antigua, Madera - all in one sweep. Getting through Havana airport was an exceptional experience and one not to be glamorised in any way. We arrived at the ship quite late went through the obligatory photograph, not much in the way of a welcome, collected our cards then straight to our cabin and ...

Honeymoon Couple - Avoid

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on MSC Opera

We booked this cruise for our honeymoon which wasn't even acknowledged. We were very disappointed. I got food poisoning on my third day on the ship. I only ate on board so it was definitely from the ship and I had also seen people prior to me getting sick walking around with bandages covering where drips had to be inserted for people who had food poisoning. The ship did not enforce the use of the ...

A first-time contemporary cruise, we were not sure what to expect after having read the mixed reviews on many websites. After the cruise experience, I can tell you we were delighted!! Our trip was the 11 night Panama Canal cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation: Somewhat impersonal and crowded, but the only time during the entire cruise we were even cognizant of crowds. Enjoyed watching those ...

My sister and I had a ball on the Opera! We have taken several cruises (together and with others) and felt that this cruise was the best ever. We booked on-line and it couldn't have been easier. Everything was done in a timely manner and our service was very responsive. My sister and I met at the Ft. Lauderdale airport and took a taxi to the port, which was only a few miles away, but a $15 cab ...

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on MSC Opera

My wife and I are both 50. This was our 18th cruise together. We have cruised with all the major lines. Our 11 night Southern Caribbean cruise on the Opera, from 1/14/07 to 1/25/07 was by far the WORST cruising experience we have ever had. The idea of cruising with an Italian based ship and experiencing a different shipboard "culture" sounded appealing, but was terribly disappointing in its ...
