Poor management means a poor experience.

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Opera

I was excited to take my mom on her first cruise. I've been on many cruises and it's my favorite way to cruise. I wanted to try out MSC and I liked the ports available. First, I made some assumptions. I assumed that as a European cruise line they would be more accommodating for gluten free. I also assumed that if I planned ahead, called customer service, and documented my interactions they ...

I chose this cruise because of the itinerary but I should have paid more attention to the ship and cruise line. The buffet was lukewarm and didn't have much variety. We went once to the to the sit-down restaurant my girlfriend isn't picky, and she only ate half her meal. The sheets and comforter were stained. Only a sheet at the bottom so just sleeping with the comforter was too hot, I slept with ...

Dirty, bad service and quite low cost running ship

Ship is very much understaffed and absolutely not able to offer good cruise for such big number of passengers onboard. Obviously company is trying to save money on all aspects, including food, number of their employees, entertainment variety, and so on. Dining area on deck 11 is crowded without place to sit, so only way to eat is to take plate outside or in a room. Automatic hand disinfect ...

My Wife and I have just returned from a supposedly 4 day, 3 night cruise on MSC Opera, in which as part of the itinerary we were manet to stop and do an overnight at Portuguese Island just off Mozambique. The cruise was the 5FM "Oh Ship" cruise, for which we paid R13000. Sadly, after a high energy sail-away, courtesy of the awesome 5FM DJ's, the remainer of the cruise descended into a total ...

8 friends all sailed with the Opera on our first cruise experience ever, on April 21st from Durban to Portuguese Islands and back on the 4 night cruise. We had been told so many stories of how WONDERFUL the MSC Cruises were, and how awesome the food was etc etc blah blah.....so of course we were expecting the best, the most amazing, the most wonderous..... Boy were we wrong....well at least on a ...

I have cruised many times with MSC, and strongly feed that their standards have slipped badly. The food used to be a highlight of the cruise, but now there seems to be no variety, and it looks like they are on a cost cutting campaign.. The quality and variety of the cold meats and cheese on the buffet are limited and inferior to say the least.. None of the shellfish we ordered had been cleaned or ...

CHECK-IN There are not enough counters and this process was long and tedious. The staff on boarding could speak very little English and we were sent from pillar to post regarding the on board recharging of accounts and eventually just went up to our cabin. The cabin at first glance seemed well appropriated except for the shower which was minuet (I have cruised several times before and have ...
