Fantastic first cruise experience, shame about the food and transfers
"We had choosen a balcony cabin on the port side and thought it very nice and comfortable (and had a lovely steward named Benny), but it also had a "serial vaper" in the cabin next to us, rendering it impossible to stay on our own balcony, due to all the smoke that even vrept into our cabin day and night.Portions were fine in size, but during the entire cruise we forgot to order side vegetables, due to us being so distracted by the hustle and bustle of the whole dining experience...."Read More

Being first time cruisers (this being a "trial run" before doing a TA with Cunard), we had read up on reviews and info re MSC and the Poesia somewhat beforehand.
The Western Mediterranean intinerary suited us well, as we had never before been to Portugal.
Having 11 days in port out of a total 14 was a very exciting prospect, too. On paper, at least.

Overall, we had a great vacation. My opinion is that the MSC Poesia is a “relaxed old school” type of cruise. We chose this cruise and itinerary because we had booked plane tickets to Copenhagen. I went on the Northern-cruise with my mom & all over i think it was a great experience & holiday.
Nice crew, very interesting places we visited & the food was definetly okay.
The only comment i have, that's regarding the wifi. It is very expensive and it works poorly. We've paid +/- 300 euro for 8 days for multiple devices, but the wifi went off most of the time.

When you arrive, when you leave , good system with the luggage
Leaving the boat for an excursion and coming back was elaborate due to safety measurements
