Sail with the MSC line

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on MSC Poesia

It was another year of travel. And this year we decided to travel once more on an MSC line. We had been doing it for several years for the least 15 years or more. It was delightful. It was the right size ship with the right group of visitors as well. Not too many at all. Plus it is always nice to have the feelings that you are someplace new and different. It is the mix of a crowd of neighbors from ...

Some good points - nice balcony cabin, very pleasant staff in all areas, good itinerary visiting lots of Caribbean islands, food and service quite good in main restaurant (where we ended up having 3 meals a day) and drinks package worked out well for us - bad points: buffet restaurant - avoided all cruise, it was like an overcrowded bad works canteen, jostling for space, trying to find a table to ...

We are well travelled independent travellers however this was only my second cruise, the first being as a 11 year old on SS Northern Star !!! in 1973. However having done substantial research and engaged several seasoned cruiseists I feel my opinion should be a valid one. We picked the cruise primarily for the itinerary, sailing out of Barbados 12 different islands, but twice into Martinique ...

MSC ROCKS!

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on MSC Poesia

We were so surprised that our embarkation went so smoothly. We had booked the Poesia cruise first and then we discovered a wonderful deal to cruise on the Caribbean Princess that left the week prior to the Poesia. Our big concern was how would we get to the Poesia from the Caribbean Princess. We had tried to find out which piers the 2 ships were docked at but no one was able to tell us. We ...

Much better than expected!

I read lots of reviews of MSC, and the Poesia specifically, after I booked the Moody Blues cruise. If you've read any yourself, you know there are quite a few very critical reviews, so I was a bit concerned. Fortunately, the ship thoroughly exceeded my expectations. MSC Poesia is a beautiful ship and in excellent condition. It's bigger than I'm used to, so it's easy to get lots of walking in. ...

Relaxing cruise on the Poesia

This was our second time on the Poesia and we found the ship in the same condition which is a good thing as two years has passed. It does take away from the wow factor to get back on the same ship as there isn't that 'day of discovery' as you explore around deck by deck. Overall our experience was good and what we were expecting. I had booked a balcony for the price of an inside (in an ...

Good For My First Cruise

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on MSC Poesia

I went on the Monsters of Rock cruise in March. I would say it was a good cruise for my first time, but I would definitely cruise with a different line next time. The pros: -Service was great. I never found anyone to be less than helpful and courteous. -Our room was always clean when we returned. -It never seemed crowded; however, that may simply be a result of being on an 80's rock ...

Very pleasant vacation...not too quiet, not too boisterous.

The Poesia is a beautiful, pleasant ship. Our experience was far better than many negative reviews have described. There are unusual features such as performances by real, Italian opera singers. The buffet is filled with Italian foods such as antipasti, various pasta dishes, and a salad bar with olives, artichoke hearts, and sun-dried tomatoes. The dining room fare is much like Carnival's, ...

we began cruising with MSC when they arrived in the US. We have sailed on the opera, orchestra, divina, and poesia twice. We like this the best. It is not as big as divina and the staff is better. The ships are newer so things look pretty. It is not as well organized as I would like. Don't like how MSC has the lines longer than Disney world to get on board. the drink packages are ...

Two weeks on the Poesia

Having read all the negative reviews about this ship, and having recently sailed on theQM2 which was fab, we did have some reservations. However these were soon dispersed as we settled into our lovely balcony cabin, having been introduced to our delightful cabin steward Jois. Over our two weeks on board he kept our cabin to a very high standard so no complaints in that department. The ship has ...
