Low Expectations Far Exceeded

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Orchestra

OK I have read all the reviews about this ship and had very low expectations. We are an Irish couple who have cruised with Royal, NCL and mostly Princess and a few MSC. The price was good and we thought well it can’t be that bad. It was a great cruise. Food excellent good variety and quality. Tip avoid the buffet it is a bit manic. Go to the dining room for breakfast lunch and dinner and ...

Somewhat stressful and chaotic

1. Room - got upgraded to balcony room on deck 12. We were very well looked after by the housekeeping staff. These are the real heroes by the way - 14 hour days and away from home for several months in probably a fairly low wage. 2. Stop offs - understaffed especially to re-embark. Long queues and very frustrated under supported staff. If weather had been bad would have been horrendous ...

Worst cruise ever

We have been on several cruises including having used MSC before. This cruise has completely put us off cruising ever again. The positives - The cabin was fine, smaller than other ships but this wasn’t a problem The cabin attendant was lovely, he couldn’t do enough for us. The negatives - no mandatory hand sanitizers getting on and off the ship or in the food areas. The food was poor and service ...

We chose this cruise because of the destinations. We enjoyed each and every port and are amazed at the beautiful locations. The ship has numerous lounges that were enjoyed by the guests. From the exercise classes provided poolside to the dancing in the lounges, you can say that this cruise was very active on all fronts. The theater entertainment was good and the dancers were excellent, all ...

Poor customer service, food and experience

Cabin was small but ok. The cabin attendant was very efficient and some of the staff were very nice and helpful, this is about all I can say positively about this ship There was no mandatory disinfection of hands getting on and off the ship, outside restaurants or toilets. There were containers to help yourselves but quite often we’re empty. The food was dreadful, even the buffet offering was ...

Great ports on a budget

If you are looking for wonderful food, lots of English-speaking passengers, or plentiful shipboard activities, this is not the cruise for you. If you want to access less-overcrowded Mediterranean ports for less than $100/person per day and enjoy multiple doses of opera and flamenco, this might be your cruise. I promised I'd take my kids to Europe one day before they left for college. They're ...

Will start off by saying we really wanted to enjoy this cruise. Had booked it for my wife's 50th, based purely on having seen MSC boats about, and they always looked quite glamorous, and something a little different from the UK cruise lines we've cruised with before. Wasn't a budget cruise, it seems good value for the basic cruise but by the time you add in the flights, transfers, premium drinks, ...

Probably the worst cruise that I've been on!

The ship is in need of an update. The cabins were OK but the balconies were uncared for and quite grubby. The glass around our balcony was so dirty that I tried to clean it with some hand soap from the bathroom and the toilet brush but couldn't clean the exterior very far down on the outside this way. The so-called "balcony cleaning" consisted of someone removing the plastic grating along the ...

MSC - Must Save Cash!

Review for a Africa Cruise on MSC Orchestra

Why did we choose MSC Orchestra. We had booked on the new MSC Europa ex Dubai to Europe, its maiden voyage but changed as the Orchestra itinerary from South Africa to Italy was what attracted us at it included a 10 day visit & safari within South Africa including visits to Johannesburg, Cape Town & Durban. The overall value offer was very good. It’s the little things that make the ...

We are currently on this excuse of a boat that you call a cruise ship "Cabin *81**" Previously we have travelled with Holland America, Celebrity, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and P & O Examples Dinner Ordered dinner and the vegetables were raw when we queried the head waiter he blamed the server The menu, well I hope your not paying the head chef a decent wage because he is not dishing ...
