Low Expectations Far Exceeded

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Orchestra

OK I have read all the reviews about this ship and had very low expectations. We are an Irish couple who have cruised with Royal, NCL and mostly Princess and a few MSC. The price was good and we thought well it can’t be that bad. It was a great cruise. Food excellent good variety and quality. Tip avoid the buffet it is a bit manic. Go to the dining room for breakfast lunch and dinner and ...

Great ports on a budget

If you are looking for wonderful food, lots of English-speaking passengers, or plentiful shipboard activities, this is not the cruise for you. If you want to access less-overcrowded Mediterranean ports for less than $100/person per day and enjoy multiple doses of opera and flamenco, this might be your cruise. I promised I'd take my kids to Europe one day before they left for college. They're ...

We really enjoyed this cruise, as we do most. The ship is about 15 years old, but was kept in fantastic condition. The ship so white on the outside, no rust to be seen. All staff encountered were friendly and fun. Our balcony on deck 11 was nice. Only negative, they could update the TV to something a little larger. Loved all the large mirrors in the room to make the area feel bigger than it ...

Having the possibility to board directly in Lisbon, made all the difference. This was my first MSC cruise and I enjoyed it very much. The employees were outstanding at all levels! Many thanks and praises to the staff at the Ville Bourgeoise restaurant, you are the best!!! Also, at the buffet diniung, despite the number of guests, they were always very empathetic and professional. The ...

Small Ship, Friendly Staff, Amazing Entertainment, Fabulous Itinerary

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Orchestra

When searching for my third cruise and having experienced more premium offerings, i discovered this 10 day western Medi itinerary. Immediate concerns were that i heard MSC was an average cruise line, in the same club as RCL and Carnival. So what did i thought? Ok, we will have the ports. The food, staff, ship will be secondary. Completely wrong idea. Lets review by items: Ship: recently ...

The cruise was excellent. I must admit I was a little uneasy about the cruise line given some other reviews I had seen, but decided to go ahead as the price was very affordable. We certainly had a great experience. The ship was beautiful; our cabin (ocean view) was spacious compared to some cruise lines and taken care of very well. The shows/ entertainment were also very good; this was ...

Before our very first cruise I checked out the reviews on this site and became quite apprehensive on what our experience of our first cruise would be. I would like to say we were enthralled, our cruise could not have been any better. From the size of our cabin, size and facilities on the ship to the vast range of food ( the 4 seasons restaurant was a daily treat), we were impressed. The staff were ...

This is a longish review as I had read some very negative MSC reviews prior to leaving Australia for this cruise on MSC Orchestra. However, we still went with open minds and open hearts. Travelling is also an often emotive topic- as people may not have much precious vacation time, may have had better experiences on other holidays and so it becomes quite comparative at times. We have cruised ...
