I have been on three cruise ships but I can honestly say that my favourite cruise line is the MSC

Although I have experienced some of the ports of call in the past (on a Suez transit to Dubai on QM2) I wanted to experience a 'standard' 7-day Dubai returned trip. And in my opinion MSC is better than Costa and RCI that also operate here, though Aida may be interesting as an alternative choice.

Like many others we had read some not great reviews of MSC cruises and were aware that this might well be why they seemed consistently cheaper than some other cruise lines. By this I mean you have to PAY for water, even in the dining room. It's free in the buffet restaurant, but that's the only place. Even the gym doesn't have water fountains! Lovely ship, lovely decor, great staff and quick embarkation . Those are the only good comments I can make on this cruise..
The food choice was poor and the standard of the cooking was poor. Some of the meat was very tough.I love desserts but the choice was really basic.
