The Not-So-Good Cruise Ship

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Musica

We are long-time cruisers and decided to take a cruise from Montevideo, Uruguay, South America to Athens. A 24 day one, longer than our usual but the price was very, very low and visited 4 countries we had never been to. The itinerary was great, and stops were largely fascinating and enjoyable. Not so our cruise ship the MSC Musica. We boarded in Montevideo and had to stand in line (yes ...

We have recently returned from the MSC Musica repositioning cruise from Durban South Africa to Venice. We have cruised with MSC previously so are perfectly aware of some of their 'foibles'. The main reason we chose this cruise was for the wonderful itinerary - we visited Reunion, Mauritius, The Seychelles, Aqaba, Suez Canal Transit, Katakolon, Kotor & Split. We had hoped that over the years ...

We embarked on the cruise aboard the MSC Musica from Durban to Venice in April 2019 with expectations of the ship not being up to the standard to HAL/Princess/Celebrity but were hoping for an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, this did not occur. From the commencement of embarkation the experience took a downhill curve. Not only did it take hours, passengers had to line up in the direct sun ...

The worst cruise we have ever had!

We initially chose this particular cruise because of the lovely itinerary and for a special pre retirement holiday. We had cruised with MSC three times previously and although it was not the best quality cruise line it was always an acceptable standard, reasonably priced and had good itineraries. Right from the start of this cruise things were not managed well, the cruise started in Durban ...

Price and itinerary was the drawcard, but the cruise was just awful. Cold food with no flavour. No entertainment except for dancing and pool games. No movies or tv except if you paid for them. Treated like cattle on embarking took 2 hrs. Bistro closed at 2oc. Didnt get on till then. Room was dirty when we finally got in. Service at night in dining room was terrible took nearly 2 hrs and food was ...

One reason I choose to Cruise was to have fun and try out new experiences, how is it like to be in a titanic a 5 star moving hotel. The first time you enter the ship the ship smells 5 star and looks 5 star all the way, the decorations inside are amazing you even forget That you are inside a ship. The embarkation que is horrible, you can't wait for a while before entering the ship, and didn't like ...

This was my second time on MSC cruise. This time the embarkation was a disaster. But this could have been caused by the bad weather. It took more than 2 hours to board. My daughter was restless and tired. The ship sailed late and was driven very fast, I think this was to catch up the lost time, this unfortunately made some of us very sick. Which wasn't great at all. The food/buffet was ...

MSC Musica never again very dissatisfied

We chose this cruise because of the destinations and the price was reasonable. We cannot express in enough terms how disappointed we were with this ship. We purchased an Aurea pkg. which included: priority boarding (that did not happen, we were kept waiting on the docks in the sun for nearly 25 mins. Pkg. also included a 'solarium area' . This area was no different to any other area ...

Could definitely be better

Review for a Africa Cruise on MSC Musica

Heard about the cruise specials offered from work colleagues . Had never been on a cruise before and thought this trip would be a good idea. Kids still on nappies can be a problem as such is not catered for. Short cruises tend to be a problem as some of the facilities such as the kids day care and activities are only discovered midway through the cruise. Perhaps it would be better if a special ...
